Women's Cargo Shorts used to be an inseam of at least 10". Now Women only have 6". Please reintroduce the old Cargo Shorts like Men's.

These are really nice BUT wish it came in a 7 or 8 inch inseam. JUST TOO SHORT

My just be my chunky legs, but the shorts ride up on me. I wish the inseam was 2" longer and I'd buy every color.

I had purchased a similar pair of Sandy River Cargo Shorts about 15 years ago and they are starting to show their age and need to be replaces. (I'm the same size as 15 years ago!) I was hoping the Sandy River Cargo Shorts were going to be a good replacement for the older shorts I have, but the leg inseam length of 6 inches is too short. They do not measure 6 inches. The older pair of shorts I had purchased have a leg inseam length of 8 or 9 inches. I hope Columbia will make the Sandy River Cargo Shorts in a longer leg inseam length of 8 inches.

A love the fit. It is so comfortable but the pockets are too small to be useful. I want pockets to hold keys, wallet, etc.

These shorts are made of a light wt. material, thus quick drying. I found they ran small in the crotch area which was very disappointing because when I'm sitting in my kayak I want to be comfortable. I kept them anyway because of their other good qualities. I'm 5'7" and weigh 182 lbs. I usually take a size XL which were too short in the crotch. The 1X fit just right in the crotch but too big in the legs. Columbia please don't do what the rest of the companies are doing, short-changing on material...it's so disappointing!

These are great, lightweight shorts. However the "cargo" pockets are so small they are useless. Too small for a phone or small wallet. At best you could fold some cash or carry a couple of keys. Also, the side slash pockets are designed so that items easily fall out when sitting. Great shorts but not for cargo.

Accidentally ordered xl, to big but still seemed small for an xl. As for function I don't know since it was returned but couldn't change rating. Also thought it might be more of a swim short; wishful thinking on my part. Seemed like a good product though

The shorts fit and are comfortable, but there's nothing outstanding about them. The elastic in the waste seems a bit flimsy. I don't expect it to last through very many wash cycles. We'll see. Had I paid list price, Id be disappointed.

Maybe I'm just a pair-shaped woman. I ordered a Large. The hips were more form-fitting than I expected, while elastic waist could've fit me even when I had been pregnant. It was a very odd fit. The Medium was more reasonable in the waist, but then the seat was very tight. That being said, I love the material- same as the old Cross On Overs, albeit longer and baggier throughout.

I've always adored Columbia shorts, but sorry folks, not this pair of shorts. I'll wait until Columbia gets it together and brings back shorts with decent pockets. ALL of the pockets are WAAAY too small compared to other older models of women's Columbia shorts I still currently own. The side slash pockets are so short that when I put a bit of change in the pocket and sit down, it falls out. The zip cargo pocket is nearly useless. It's about the size of a credit card. Sheesh. A woman I know who does alterations and tailoring tells me that to cut costs clothing manufacturers, have reduced the size of their pockets to save on the cost of the lining material.

I have a pair of these shorts that are over 7-8 years old. I love their durability so ordered two more pair online. Sadly, the new shorts aren't made as well. The original shorts were made in Sri Lanka and were thicker, a tad longer and larger. The new shorts (same model) are made in Vietnam and MUCH more flimsy in make and material. They're extremely thin! The slight difference in fit is not a big deal, but I don't see these shorts will lasting over year with regular wear. =(

love these shorts -- except they wrinkle pretty badly. I bought the first pair at Dick's Sporting Goods and loved them so much searched for them at Columbia.com. They are lightweight and look great but they really wrinkle so much you have to iron them after wearing them. That's disappointing.

I have an old pair of these shorts that I bought years ago and have used for exercise since. I love them, they're the right length and perfect fit. I was excited to see these advertised since I have been trying to find a second pair. As other reviewers noted, these shorts are just not quite as good. The length is shorter by about 3/4 of an inch. The crotch is just that much shorter as well and the material is a little lighter. I agree that Columbia should bring back the previous model.

Unfortunately, the sizing of these Columbia shorts is not consistent between the 2 pairs I ordered, or with the previous Columbia cargo short I'm trying to replace. Very stingy with fabric through the draw. Not suitable for conventional fit, unless you like "low riders"

Fits well, comfortable, would like an inch longer. Pockets are too shallow - my cell phone falls out evey time I sit down.

I have many Columbia shorts/pants and I'm disappointed that they all fit differently. I am 5'7" and 135 and usually wear a 6. My long hiking pants are a 8 and my cotton Columbia shorts are size Med but the sandy river shorts cut short in the inseam even though they claim to be a 6 inseam. I have other waterproof hiking ones that fit very loose in the Med and are much longer even though they say the are 6 inseam. It would be great if they all had a style name or number so I can figure out which ones work and which ones do not. It's annoying to have to return items so often. The quality seem very nice but since I sent them back, I can not rate the wear and tear of the shorts.

I bought this pair of shorts last summer, in tan and lime green and loved them so much I decided to buy them in red. The color is great but I don't like the fit as well as last year's model. The zipper pocket is smaller and there's no Velcro closing on the other pocket. I like the belt better but other than that I do not think the shorts being sold this year are as nice as last year's.

Liked the old version. Would like a key loop at the waist to keep the keys away from the water when wading in water or playing with dogs so the key fob doesn't get wet.

I purchased three pairs of these at least five years ago and they are wonderful. The fit is perfect. I just bought the newer version and was disappointed. The older shorts had a belt that was an integral part of the shorts whereas the new ones have a belt I discarded as it is too long and a distraction. Having read the reviews I bought a size larger and found that the legs are a bit wide but I would rather have a loose fit. Even with a larger size that hangs a bit lower, they are still an inch shorter than my older shorts. I love the material and for this reason alone, I would continue to purchase, but the cut and the quality are not as good as in the past.

Comfortable but see-through. Why does Columbia make transparent women's clothing?? Gross. Do they make men's shorts this way? No.
