Great traction, waterproof, protective, I woods ran and winter hiked with the 2 pairs I owned. Best ever for me, except....the uppers near the little toe area split open and expose the under layers. Not good, and happens long before the soles are worn at all. That said, I would buy again, if, that area of the shoe is redesigned with better toe cap materials.

These boots have a neutral fit and therefore, by design, have little to no arch support. They run narrow and would fit a size C width perfectly. I am a size D but find them quite comfy after wearing them indoors for a couple of weeks. These boots hug the feet, are gentle on sensitive ankles, keep debris out as would be expected of any low-cut boot. They are waterproof, have a modest heel to midfoot drop, decent cushioning, and are incredibly light! And, Zappos sells them!
I'd also recommend:
I prefer Inov-8, but if I had to purchase a different brand, I would suggest Hoka One One. They are neutral running shoes, not boots, but ultra cushiony with a 4mm drop. Great complement to these boots, but so are the Inov-8 Roclite 295's.

This shoe would have been (should have been) great: it looked nice, was extremely light weight, and had great traction. Unfortunately, the shoe was too small and too narrow -- despite the fact that I'd already ordered a half-size up after reading other reviews talking about how narrow and small the shoe was. The insoles that come with this shoe provide very little arch support, which wouldn't be a big deal if there was room in the shoe for aftermarket inserts, but this is such a low-volume shoe and such a narrow shoe that it would be about impossible to fit a decent insole into it. I have normal width feet and in some ways, semi-narrow feet, at least back at the ankles. And these shoes were just too narrow in the toebox to be comfortable. I also have a high instep and found these shoes to be unaccommodating to that as well.

Perfect balance between letting you feel the terrain under your feet and providing support on the trail. Great for narrower feet and Morton toes - while the heel and mid-section of the foot stay secure, there is enough room in the toe-cage for people with longer toes. This is the only boot in which I have not stubbed my toes going downhill. Also, they do not require 'breaking-in', and I have hiked long-distances, days in a row without getting blisters.

Great shoe. Inov8 makes a great product. I wear these all the time especially in wet conditions. The goretex lining keeps my feet dry and warm! Lightweight and comfortable. If not used to a minimal shoe it will take some time to adjust but when you do, you will love them. From experience inov8 typically run about a half size smaller

I love these boots. Absolutely love. The other reviewers are right, they definitely run a bit small width wise. If you have wide feet, I'd order a half size or whole size up. Luckily, Zappos is good about returns if you need to swap. Just about the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I got them to take to Iceland this May, since I know the rain can get pretty bad. Hopefully the Gore-Tex liner holds up as well as it should. Seriously though, these are some comfy boots. Stylish, too.

These shoes are amazing! I run in barefoot shoes, and was having a very hard time finding a comfortable hiking shoe (probably because I wasn't used to so much structure around my foot). These shoes do provide traction and grip without feeling clunky. My ankles feel supported. I haven't had them long enough to say anything about durability, but so far I'm very pleased. I was worried they would be too narrow, and at first I thought they were, but after completely relacing them, I don't find them to be narrow at all. However, the toe-box is much narrower than my running shoes. Overall I'm very pleased, and as long as they continue to hold up I'll be happy!

These. Are. Narrow. Plain and simple.
I bought these for a hiking trip to King's Canyon this summer and wanted something familiar, light and waterproof. I love the innov-8 shoes I use for CrossFit and for Mud Runs so when I realized they made an all-terrian shoe with GoreTex I was sold. Being confident in the fit, being so similar to my other shoes, I ignored all of the reviews saying this shoe was narrow...but did buy a pair 1/2 size larger hoping to accommodate thicker socks. Even with just liner socks, they are still very narrow. It's almost as if they didn't account for the extra thickness of the GoreTex layer. This being my 5th or 6th pair of Innov-8 shoes, is the first I'm disappointed in. They are bearable for maybe a mile or even 2 but no more. Just too narrow toward the ball of the foot. Quality and build are great but not if I can't fit into the shoe. I thought they might stretch as most Innov-8s do, but not with the GoreTex layer.
I wish I'd returned these before getting them wet and muddy.

Hard to believe these are made for men because they are very, very narrow & run small. Purchased these in my regular size 6.5, but they were very small so tried 7, & finally settled on 7.5.

These are perhaps the best fitting and most functional shoes I've ever owned (and they're not bad looking). I experience plantar fascia occasionally; these shoes allow for an orthotic and they are light with very little drop. I bought an extra pair just so I'll have them when the manufacturer changes something.

These are the most comfortable hiking shoe I've ever used. I do have to size up with INOV8 shoes.Ever pair I've bought run small.Normally a US 13, I get a UK 13 and they're perfect.
I'd also recommend:
There's none that combines the comfort, dryness (with gaiter),and gnarly sole of these.Remember they run small though.

This is my favourite shoe/boot for running in the snow. It's super light and keeps my feet dry. I was purchasing my second pair so I new what size I needed. The boot generally has a snug fit.

I wanted comfortable, lightweight, waterproof, and grippy shoes, with ankle protection - and I got them! I replaced the flat insole with a custom orthotic, and still provided rock-hugging (non-elevated) fit and stability! For thin soles, the shoes provided more than adequate cushioning crossing rock fields and rocky stretches of trail. If you do not want to feel any rocks, you will wind up with a thick, hard soled shoe, that are heavy and very slick on rocks. The Rocklite 286s grip excellent and allow you to step on pointy rocks without bruising your feet! The Goretex kept my feet dry on wet trails and shallow stream crossings, and these shoes are as comfortable as slippers - even after a long day on the trail! They are super lightweight! Another hiker friend has gone through three pairs, and swears by them, too!

Great shoe. My husband wears these in the winter on his walks, he loves them. They're light weight, very comfortable, great traction and keep his feet dry. They look very nice also, nice enough to wear to town.

I ordered a half size larger due to the recommendation of the reviews. It fit perfectly barefoot, but felt a little snug with socks. The shoes are super light, and comfortable. Although I would've liked a bit more arch support, this in no way detracted from the comfort.

I love these shoes, they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Very functional for hiking or walking around, light & flexible with good traction & waterproof. I worn them to a football game in the torrential rain, my feet stayed warm & dry. I ordered the US women's 7.5 (I usually wear a 7-7.5) they fit fine but I would say they run on the small side. I have a wide foot, these are snug on me. Hope this helps.

These are absolutely the lightest boot I've ever seen in my life. They are super comfortable right out of the box. I think they are maybe a little bit small in sizing so I would order up a size. A wonderful boot...however, it looks like they are not on the makers web site any longer.

These boots are awesome! Super light and comfortable - no break-in required. They have great tread and grip well on loose gravel as well as smooth/steep rock surfaces. Not as much toe cap protection as some heavier hiking boots so these are better for day hikes vs. backpacking trips, etc.

I got these for sand dune ATV riding. Since they are waterproof, the high tongue is connected almost all the way up and they did great at keeping the sand out! I'm really picky about shoe comfort, have fairly wide feet and need some decent arch support. Right away, I could wear these for hours and not have any problems. They don't get too hot either which is great for riding in hot weather. I think they run a bit small, but not much. Sure, they aren't the most attractive shoe, but they look great on an ATV. I don't bother writing many reviews, but these earned my time.

I am female; these are "unisex" boots, and use a men's last. I wear a half-size larger in all Inov-8 shoes (8.5 women's in Merrell, 9 in Inov-8) and these are no exception. The width is perfect for my womens C-width foot. These boots are truly waterproof, comfortable, provide great traction.

Although its aggressive tread can be felt underfoot, this comfortable GoreTex waterproof boot is excellent for tactical or hiking use.

I just wore these boots for 3 days of strenuous desert mountain hiking. They are so far the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. I have been wearing minimal support shoes for 4 years now so I've had time to adapt to the "barefoot" feel. I did a 12 mile hike one day, a 6 mile hike the next day, and a 16 mile hike the third day in them and I have no blisters and no hot spots. My feet feel great! (I wouldn't recommend them for strenuous hiking for anyone who has not had time to develop their foot muscles for minimal support shoes.) They seem to be waterproof, I wore them in a shallow stream, however I noticed that the toe area is already starting to peel so I am not sure how long they will last or remain waterproof.

I like these very much, but there are some things that I would have done differently in the design: 1) Fabric loops instead of traditional eyelets to reduce pressure points. 2) A tiny bit more stiffness in the sole. 3) A tiny bit more lateral stability. Pros: They are incredibly light and comfortable. Wearing them in undemanding conditions has actually helped me with some Achilles issues, which may have something to do with the lower rise than other boots. Even with the GTX they haven t been too hot in summer. They run narrow which is exactly what I need. Also, the arch seems to conform to my foot. My feet are very flat, and other boots and shoes just dig in the my arch. These just mold to me, and still provide support. Cons: I have some problems with pressure points toward the end of the day, and have to re-tie to alleviate them. This would not be a problem with fabric lace loops in place of the eyelets. I can feel nearly anything I step on, as the sole bends around it. I haven t tried yet, but I also suspect they may be too flexible to mountain bike in (my major outdoor activity). They don t feel entirely stable side to side, but that may be just my coming from more rigid boots. If they had the features I mentioned they might be the perfect lightweight outdoor boot. As it is they are just good.

I loved my old pair that I have been using for the last four years, but the new pair I just got is not as wide. If you have wide feet order a full size bigger. I wish they would make them in a standard width. I use these boots for winter mountain running on snow. With a pair of wool socks they keep my feet toasty warm.
