I am returning this item because it is thicker than what I was looking for and a bit boxy. I wanted it to be more packable and this does not fit the bill. Additionally, It doesn't have a feminine shape to it. It does appear as if it would provide great coverage for rain but I won't be testing it.

I was looking for rain shell that I could also wear during the ski season climbing Mount near in what have you and I found it. I pack this jacket with me everywhere not just for the mountains and it keeps me dry. I love the poncho zippers, it allows me to stay dry yet have air movement on these Misty morning's up in the Pacific Northwest.

This coat is great! Lightweight enough to take on long backpacking adventures where weight is a concern but not so light that it can't stand up to a heavy rainstorm. Fits well and repels water effectively. Thick enough to keep me warm too. My only wish is that the hood was separate from the jacket itself.

I've been looking for a versatile shell that I'd be able to use out on the water as well as hiking, and I'm so glad I found this one! I love everything about it. It fits perfectly with enough room to wear a light or heavy fleece underneath. Keeps the wind and rain out amazingly well and keeps me warm. The sleeve length is excellent, I have long arms and outdoor research is the only company that has the sleeve length I need. I'm 5'10" and about 160lbs athletic build. Normally I am a women's large or men's small, but the medium fits excellent with and without a layer underneath. If I wanted it as just a rain jacket for over a t-shirt or something a size small would have fit as well, but I wanted to be able to wear layers underneath for the colder weather. When the collar is done up all the way in comes up to the bottom of my ears and with the hood on it keeps my face sheltered (unless its super windy of course). The double zipper hasn't been a problem at all and is a nice touch if I need more mobility when wearing a heavy pack. It sticks a little sometimes but I've never had a double zipper that didn't. the shoulder pocket is a great feature and the hand pocket are nice and big with little flaps to keep the rain out. Over all this jacket was worth every penny and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a solid, versatile jacket for harsh conditions and every day use.

I bought this jacket for an upcoming trip to Iceland. I haven't tried it because we haven't had any rain so I can only comment on feel and fit. It feels durable and the fit is good...a bit large but I like that because I will always wear it over at least one layer.

I bought this jacket just in time for my move to the PNW. I haven't gotten a chance to test it out in the field, but I'm really looking forward to it. The fabric is soft, light, and breathable. I purchased the baltic color, which I would describe as a mix between light blue and lavender. It's a little lighter than in the picture. I'm curvy and 5'3", so I decided to go with the medium. It fits great! There's plenty of room for an extra layer like a light puffy or a fleece and the best part is that there is no crinkling when I walk! There's a velcro strap that hides the hoodie too, which I think is a neat feature. The poncho style zippers are exciting and will provide all of the ventilation! As of right now I would definitely recommend to a friend, in fact I already got one of my coworkers to purchase the exact same jacket! Happy Trails!

I use this jacket for a variety of activities including; hiking and camping, biking, fly fishing, and everyday wear. The extra long pit zips are awesome! I am 5'4" and 125 lbs. I went with a size small and there is still lots of room in the jacket to add layers comfortably. I also like the length of the jacket as it doesn't ride up above my pants when biking or crouching while hiking/fishing etc. I really like the colors of the Aspire jackets as they are fun enough to wear casually. I bought the purple and I love it so far.

This is my second Aspire jacket. My first one is totally fine 7 years later, but I just wanted a different colour!! The latest version is even better than the first. The fabric is so soft yet still waterproof. Just an all round great coat.

I love this jacket, lightweight and packable, especially the side zippers, I can unzip from bottom if too warm and buckle my under my jacket for much better vents, or unzip from armpits. Just came back from a trip to Arizona and Utah, kept from the cold and wind. Great investment.

I wore this jacket and matching pants for a week or camping and hiking in the pouring rain. Was out in the bush and trails for 6-8 hours a day and remained dry everyday. Like all OR gear it held up above what I expected.

This jacket is perfect for layering - especially good for active winter weather pursuits. I bought a M instead of a S to ensure I could layer a puff coat underneath. I love the extra underarm zippers that make it more breathable once I work up a sweat.

Great all round jacket , very lightweight and packable. The full length pit zips are great! 100% waterproof so far. I bought it big enough to put a sweater underneath for colder days.

I'm a petite (5'1") woman with a short torso and some curves. That means that almost every outdoor gear company doesn't make clothing to fit me, especially if it's a jacket. Being the wife of a man who runs an outdoor education business and someone who loves to go on backcountry adventures with him, that makes it a challenge to have proper gear that keeps me safe and comfortable. But thanks to this awesome design from OR, I was able to ditch the uncomfortable, not attractive, men's rain jacket I'd been using for my water/wind proof layer. This just accompanied me on a trip to the backcountry with my family. We did some Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, sledding, and faced both snowy and ice/rain conditions. It was absolutely perfect for all of them! It worked well with multiple layers on underneath, and it's ability to be wind and water proof kept me warm and safe. I love this jacket. I did have to order up a size, since the waist on all of these tends to fall at my hip level, but thankfully the OR design helped it not be too bulky in the chest area. (I ordered a large, as the medium wouldn't fit comfortably with multiple layers over ski pants as well.) The arms are a bit long, but because they have adjustable cuffs, it's no big deal. The color was beautiful, and even though it's just a 2 layer gortex, it worked really well keeping me dry. I'm not sure how the longevity will be since it is just 2 layer and not 3, but their warranty and the latest products out there to help keep waterproofing solid give me confidence that this will be a jacket I can use for the long haul. The only thing I'd want them to change would be to put an inside breast pocket if possible. That would have been super useful for storing things (like my phone for quick picture access) while hiking. I definitely used the little key holder in the left hand pocket, and it kept our cabin key safe and sound with no worry about losing it in deep snow.

LOVE this jacket. I ordered the pink because it was the only one in my size left but thankfully it ended up being a beautiful shade of red and I am so happy! I ordered one size smaller than I am in most other clothes and there is still room for a sweater under the jacket, so that was the right choice. This jacket is perfect for running out to the store or going out in the mountains. It's functional and stylish. Everyone always comments on it when I am out.
