I was in search of a pair of sandals for my narrow and thin feet and this was the pair that felt the best, the Clearwater CNX. The sole is some kind of material that feels more gel-like than the other Keen sandal designs like the Whisper or the Newport H2, so if you're looking for a good deal of support, you won't find it in the sole of this sandal. I would not recommend this sandal if you are going to be walking on "rooty" or "pebbly" terrain that might poke and jab at the soles of your feet. Keen typically runs 1/2 size too small, I usually wear an 8, sometimes an 8 1/2, and the 8 1/2 fit perfect, snug, without puckering from pulling too tight because my feet are so narrow. The only reason that I gave the Keen Clearwater CNX sandal 4 out of 5 stars total is because I chose another sandal over this sandal that fit so perfect; I felt that the style of the Clearwater CNX was "eh" compared to the others. I ended up choosing the Keen Whisper (the Keen Newport H2 felt too big at the toe box area, kind-of "bozo"-ish for me), despite needing to make lacing adjustments to the Whisper's tongue and ankle lace-loops, and the footbed of the Whisper was more supportive. My next pair of sandals will be the Keen Clearwater CNX design. The Keen Rose sandal design was cute, but the front of the sandal rubbed the tops of my toes (and I have very narrow and thin feet), and I thought that it would surely blister the tops of my toes. This is a very comfortable shoe overall, but a 6 was too big, and the 5.5 fit very well with the exception of constant rubbing on the the ends of my 4th toes...was unusual in that the rest of the shoe fit very well...no other toes rubbed anywhere. I chose the Keen Newport H2 instead, but the two are quite different. If the clearwater toe box fits you, and you don't need or want the sole support/protection of traditional Keen sandals, this is the shoe for you. If using these on uneven surfaces, they are much more pliable and will allow your foot to bend to accommodate uneven terrain. The straps are comfortable and the cinching elastic is thinner than on non-CNX sandals. The norse blue/super lemon color is richer but not quite as electric in person as online. Good looking sandal and definitely low profile/light weight..really more of a slipper.

I love these shoes! I bought them for a trip to Kauai and they were perfect for kayaking, hiking and just walking around! They were comfortable from the start, no breaking in. I highly recommend these shoes.

Perfect shoes for a trip to Disney World with grandkids. Room to wiggle my toes, without feeling too big. I have a somewhat narrow for. Medium shoes are usually too wide, Ordered exact size I wear (10.5), and can adjust width with elastic strings.

I bought these as a backup hiking shoe while camping and backpacking so that I could take off my hiking boots, but still have a sturdy shoe for walking around the campground. I absolutely love them! They have good grip on rocks, dry quickly if they get wet, and have been very comfortable (even though I always wear them when my feet are very tired). Great sandal!

I have been a long time Keen user. This is the most comfortable style of all. I was amazed that they are even better. It like not wearing shoes at all. And it is less bulky while still protecting my feet. The BEST!!!!

These are my favorite Keens and for reference know that I also own one of the clunkier models. I have a long and somewhat narrow foot and have a hard time finding shoes that truly fit. During the summer I can wear these every day. I like how light weight they are. You feel like you have nothing on but your foot is protected. These are my second pair of CNX as my puppy chewed the cord on my original pair and the colors faded from every day use over a couple of years — however the sole is still in excellent shape!! It’s just aesthetically they look a bit ratty. I never write reviews but this sandal is worth my praise. Hope this helps you! Forgot to mention they are super cute!

I walk as my primary mode of transportation and these are great for summer. They are almost an exact fit (at a size 10), so if you are between sizes I'd recommend going up a half size.

This is my third pair of Clearwater CNX. Not all Keens work for my feet, however the CNX are a great match. I had foot surgery 7 months ago, plus I tend to supinate. I could go on and on, but bottom line, these shoes are a good match for my feet and my back. Bought two more pairs this year in order to be assured I'll have them on hand in case Keen decides to "revise" the design in the future. Although Keen offered a good selection of colors this year, it would be great if they would manufacture the solid pink sandal again. Minimal "break-in" period.

Love the shoes and the shopping/shipping experience. Shoes seem to run a little small so be sure to get half a size larger.

I love this shoe! This is my third pair and I would like to have every color. I like that the rand is smaller than most shoes of this style, including other Keens, so they look less klonky. You can throw them in the washer and air dry and they come out fine. Even though the insole is plastic my feet do not sweat in them. The Keens are pricey, but when I tried a cheaper version I realized I was willing to pay for Keens.

I love these shoes! My baby toes got caught in the gaps on other Keen sandal styles but not in these. I wanted a pair of sandals to walk with our dogs in the summer time that would also protect my toes which these do. I was also happy that I could wear them in cooler weather and my feet stayed warm.

These shoes are great, but not if you have a wide/extra wide foot. Other than being slightly narrower than Keen's other styles, it's very lightweight, flexible and good looking. For my wide feet, I ended up getting the Keen Gallatin CNX and they're amazing!

I love these sandals. I need a AAAA width and was still able to pull the ties tight enough to wear them. Wore them on trip, climbed, went in water, wore socks some and no socks as well. Did not rub my sensitive feet. Highly recommend. Love the purple, too!

Way pleased with these shoes. For what they are, and the purpose they serve, they're pretty darn cute. The first time I wore these, I went canoeing. They are fantastic. Water just rushes right out, so your feet aren't sitting in a wet shoe the whole time. It had rained tons a few days before we went, so even the riverbank was complete muck. Mud rinsed off no problem. I didn't even have to wash them. I imagine they'll be great for white water rafting, etc., as well. Oh, and they're super comfortable. Love!

I bought these open back sandals before I knew that I was going to need to wear an orthotic device. When I got the orthotic, my doc recommended that they will probably work with these sandals with a small velcro dot on the shoe and on the orthotic. It works like a charm and are the most comfortable shoes to wear the orthotic with while I am getting used to them. I have two pairs of these sandals, one purchased here and one in a local store. I love both of them and am planning a trip to SF in the next week and they will be my "go to" shoes for most of the trip.

This shoe has anatomic insoles that are designed to fit your foot and hold it in place. While the shoe fit me perfectly in every other way, the markings for the toes are off for my foot. There is a ridge that should fit under the arch of the big toe but on me it fits right on the pad. I guess my big toes are bigger than they had predicted for my size. This won't change with wear as they are part of the insole construction, so they are going back. Too bad as the fit otherwise is perfect.

I love this sandal! I have a difficult time finding a shoe that feels comfortable. This sandal feels great! I have long (size 10) feet with a somewhat narrow heel, high arch and bunions on both feet (oh, and, also a bump on top of one foot from osteoarthritis). Not an easy fit here and often pain when walking. (Also I tend to supinate.) These sandals have a flexible sole that allows for natural foot movement, has a flexible top that is accommodating where it needs to be and is great looking (even on a large foot). I can't believe I found a sandal that feels good and looks good!

I've had a couple pairs of the Keen Venice, which I've really liked. The Keen Clearwater is much lighter and less clunky than the Venice or the Newport, and I was initially concerned that the support might not be as good as those, but it's been great. It's perfect for walking and light hikes. I probably wouldn't want it on a serious mountain hike, but I can't wait to use it for rafting and kayaking.

The very best keens I’ve ever had! Great for slender feet. Very Comfortable, lightweight, good looking-not bulky like other keens. Love the orange color too! But these while you can!

I tried several Keen styles and this one was the most comfortable, and the least bulky. I wore them all day everyday for fourteen days of river rafting and hiking and they were comfortable and functional.

I use these as water shoes and they do a great job. If you get too much mud in them, they eventually get slimy and caked inside so you'll have to give it a good washing afterwards, but I did some pretty extreme hiking through muddy areas. The color is more of a watermelon shade so the picture is a pretty good representation of how it looks. I thought the arch support would be a little bit higher, but they're pretty comfy all the same. I have pretty wide, flattish feet and these shoes were wider than I would've liked them to be.

While I like this slimmed down style compared to the bulkier Keen Whisper, in the end I decided to return these. They just don't look good on me (thick ankles) for wearing with shorts. Instead, I'm going with Teva Verra sandal for my water shoes.

Love this shoe. Lightweight comfortable Closed toe the only style I wear.

These are my favorite sandals. They fits great lightweight flat. Love them. I have owned 5 pairs.
