This was purchased for my husband who gardens. He loves it. It keeps the sun off his ears and the back of his neck. It is light weight and comfortable.

This is a great hat! I'm going to order another after this review. Husband needs to wear a hat, because of skin issues, this stays cool, flaps tuck under when not needed, looks nice on. High marks for this hat!

I have a decades older Columbia Catchalot, much heavier and a bit darker color, but this new fabric with cooling provision drew my attention. Couple observations: it's lightweight and easy to wear for hours; its color reflects the heat as well; can't say that I've as yet experienced "cooling" from the Zero Technology, but I'm much cooler wearing this than the older, heavier model; the "foreign legion" neck shade is adequate and effective; the brim is strong, supporting my small, clip-on flashlight-as-headlamp; and the cap has not become easily soiled despite the near-white color... however, my old Catchalot had a longer size tensioner cord AND had a retainer cord and clip for retaining the hat in stiff winds, while the tensioner is very short (large size hat wearers take note) and there is no retainer cord and clip - a serious shortcoming. I've added an additional thin shock cord with S-biner to the size tensioner cord to insure I don't loose this cap to the winds, and suggest this be addressed in future releases.

This hat is great for golf or running or walking on trails to protect your eyes, face, neck and ears from the sun and bugs. It also is light weight and vented to be cool in the heat. Also it is and looks like great quality.

Keeps the sun off your face and neck. Keeps you even cooler if you wet it down before wearing. The hat does not absorb or hold heat, which in itself is cooling.

This product delighted me, no more sun problems. That warm head feeling doesn't exist anymore, thanks to Omni Freeze 0 technology. In addition to protecting my neck from the sun and protecting 50 UFP. My wife already took it from me ... I need to buy some more !!!

Really impressed with this product as it both keeps you cool and protects you from the sun. Used it while hiking, canoeing, and camping in WI state forest. Even better, it covers you up and keeps mosquitos away.

I had one of these before and somehow lost it on a trip to South Africa. I love the original one I had and thus HAD to purchase a replacement. I love that I can just dunk it in water for immediate cooling and then further benefit from evaporative cooling as the hours go on. I don't know how "stylish" it is, but when you are hiking very hot and sweaty, who cares?!!!? And it certainly looks unique. I must have a small head as it's a tad big on me. My only complaint is the original one I had purchased had a clip in the back on a string that could be clipped to the top of one's shirt so a stiff wind cold never blow it off your head.That cam in handy in the Grand Canyon.

Bought for my father in law he already has 1 and wears it every day. So we got him a spare

This hat is very lightweight and comfortable.

Excellent light weight hat to keep the glare out of your eyes and the heat off your neck & ears. Been using it doing anything involving sun, heat and activity: tennis, sailing, hiking, and underneath the bike helmet. All great, as it blocks the sun and is light. Long-lasting quality.

After buying a similar hat from a different manufacturer I wanted to try this one with the Omni-freeze. It is definitely cooler and the white color does a better job of reflecting hot sun.

The Coolhead Cachalot is far better at its job than two similar products I own that I'll have to donate somewhere. It also works better than a sweat band and under my bike helmet as well. When I fear I look a bit dorky, I tuck the tail under the cap top and it's -presto- a normal looking cap.

Quality is good. Original gift was darker so I returned it and ordered this one. Supposed to be the same size (one size fits all). The original was tight - this one just right.
