I am a loyal consumer of New Balance shoes, which have provided me with just under 20 years of injury free running. I swear by their quality, size control and comfort. So much so, I always felt that I could grab a properly sized pair straight out of the box, throw them on for a half marathon, and run it injury free. Then the 610 (the 610V2's older brother) happened. The 610 was a New Balance anomaly in that it was the first (and only) New Balance that I have ever worn that consistently ran half a size small in length. I noted this in four pairs of them. And so, I surmise, did other consumers. The 610V2, however, is a return to the basics and feels pretty spot-on in both length and width. I am a neutral-to-under-pronator (more of a mild supinator, based on shoe wear), but I have always had a good experience with the New Balance 610 line. I replace my shoes when wear becomes flat on part of the tread and have never had a problem. The 610 line shoes all have awesome shock absorption in the heel to mid. They are very light, breathe well and are comfortable in warm to moderately cool environments. I ran two marathons in the 610s and the 610V2s have a similar play date in the near future. I use them for long mileage runs for about 200 miles, then I retire them to shorter runs to avoid injury from absorption breakdown. The V2s are a venture into a trail shoe from their predecessors, which had a road tread. I have taken the V2s on steep, loose gravel and limestone slopes and found really impressive traction and ground control with them. I hope New Balance sticks with this concept in the next generation. My only non-flattering comments would be in the style section, but a few of the color schemes are low key. Neon is apparently in again. That said, some of the ones which appear a little eccentric at first are sort of fun. Whatever floats your boat - but looks should always be a last consideration in a good running shoe.

THIS. IS. THE. PERFECT. TRAIL. SHOE! I suffer from Achilles tendinitis as well as plantar fasciitis. It's almost as though this shoe has addressed both issues. First off, it has a HUGE differential, meaning a significant drop from heel to toe. That is good for my Achilles tendons so that they're not overworked. Secondly, it has great arch support and good heel cushioning so it sort of acts like a built-in orthotic. The wide width (4E) feels true to width as does the size. The toe box is generous and the shoe BREATHES like you would not believe. It is super light as well, I can hardly tell I'm wearing them. I love this shoe so much and it is priced so well that I am going to find the pavement running version of this (if it exists) and buy a pair. Best outdoor sports shoe I've ever owned...great job Zappos!

These shoes were so narrow that I could barely get my feet into them. I ordered the 4E width, and these couldn't of been more than 2E. I even checked the size tag inside the shoe assuming that Zappos put the wrong shoes in the box. Nope. Just a lie from NB. Be warned, if you wear a 4E - DO NOT waste your time with these shoes! ALSO, I've had the EXACT experience with the NB M3090. NB used to be a rock-solid show, now the sizing is erratic. Looks like I'll be trying alternatives. Sorry NB!

These are great shoes for your 10 year old with adult size feet. They look narrow on his foot which helps since he the size of a kid shoe but the length of an adult sure. Very comfortable and they look cool on.

First time use Zappos.com...1st order too narrow so returned it. You got to make sure you need wide or extra wide. Called customer service and very helpful setting up return shipping and inputting new order for exchange. After week 2nd order came and shoe size and wide right but color is off. Red part of shoe looks like hot pink so return it again...again customer service very helpful ordering another shoe. Finally 3rd shoe came in and solved problem. Thanks.

These are fantastic shoes - so much so that I am considering getting a second pair to keep as spares. Very light and breathable but also sturdy soles/treads and overall construction (unlike many other lightweight trail running shoes that fall apart and provide little support/protection on varied terrain).

I've had two pairs of these, I like tem a lot. Working in film production, I'm on my feet 12 hours a day and new balance shoes have a great mix of support and comfort with a pair of superfeet. I've gone through probably 30 pairs and I'll continue to wear them.

I cannot express how impressed I have been with these shoes. I bought them for a trip to the southwest that included a lot of walking and hiking. I often have difficulty finding shoes that are comfortable and supportive for me. But from the moment that I put them on I could tell they were the right choice. They felt broken in and perfectly comfortable immediately, and performed perfectly my entire trip. Whether I was walking on pavement, walking in sand, gravel trails, or climbing boulders, the shoes were comfortable, supportive, and grippy. I think I had to stop to re-tie them once the whole week. Even after hours of hiking/walking my feet were never sore and no trouble with blisters. They also breathe very well. My feet stayed cool and dry even hiking in the desert. In fact, I love these shoes so much that I will most likely buy a second pair to stash away while they are still available. I honestly cannot say enough good things about these shoes.

I am a female runner, who weighs 100 pounds w/wide feet. I like the men's shoe for the width. The flexibility of the shoe works will for me on the trails being a lighter runner. They grip well on dry rocky trail, but are especially good on smooth dirt downhill with slightly soft sand.

My husband LOVES these sneakers. They are true to size. At his job he stands on his feet 12+ hours straight and never complains about aching puppies. And they aren't a boring black since they have a bit of neon green accent. Hm, wonder if they reflect in the dark. Must try!

This shoe is awesome! So comfortable, and it weighs next to nothing. I got it for a walking around, sort of everyday shoe and I am very pleased.

I have been very disappointed in the last couple of pairs of New Balance shoes I have purchased. They were not comfortable and one pair squeaked when I walked.

Shoes are loud as expected, a plus for those daring to be a little less ordinary! Also as one would come to expect from NB, the shoes are very comfortable. I stand pretty much 16 hours in the day and so far no foot discomfort. Highly recommend these shoes to those seeking ultra comfort!

Great sneaker. I have purchased new balance Sneakers before and these are light weight, In the heat of summer, the air flows through the shoe like no other. I purchased 1 pair then the next week I purchased a second pair from zappos and became a VIP member.

I'm a rather wide footed solid 13 in size and can rarely find a shoe that really fits well. Most just are uncomfortable and too small. But this shoe fits like a dream right out of the box. I'm buying at least another pair!

Excellent comfort, very very light, and one can feel the air flowing through the light thin mesh fabric. Wearing well after about one months steady use. Good looks too, several compliments from the 20s age group.

I've been working out more and needed better-fitting, more versatile shoes. These are extremely comfortable and have the support I was looking for. I'm very satisfied. Also, for NB shoes, they're not at all dorky looking.

Been wearing these almost everyday for over a month. They are a nice lightweight shoe that breathes incredibly well and dries out fast if you get wet. (Especially in the Texas heat) The have good cushion in the heal, with less in the forefoot, which is what I prefer for a shoe that I wear to the firehouse, working outside, and do crossfit type workouts in. They are very flexible, and have held up well over the time I've had them. I would not want to wear them running a road race, which is not what they are designed for anyhow. I'm pretty hard on shoes, and they seem to work well for me. I think I'll order another pair.

Great shoe! It's pretty stylish with the neon green and blue accents. I think I might change the laces to ones without the neon, but other than that it's great. It fits well and is comfortable too. I walked around Disney World in these and didn't have any issues.

Note that the standard that I compare ALL hiking/trail shoes with is the 'MT811,' discontinued many years ago. I have very wide feet in the toebox, and thus far the MT811 was the best combination of perfect width and excellent traction that I have ever experienced in a 'trail shoe' from New Balance (some running models are adequately wide in the toebox area, but obviously not suitable for extreme trails). I wore the MT610 on a 35 mile endurance hike. While I was at first skeptical about the slightly narrower width, this shoe has good side give when nicely snugged up. Unfortunately after twenty-some miles, it wasn't enough and I blistered on the outside of my small toes (there is a lot of downhill on the hike which compresses the toes into the front area). So, if you need something very wide in the toebox as I do, and especially for long distances and extreme terrain, you might want to look at other styles. Unfortunately I do not have any suggestions, yet always on the lookout. If I could find more MT811's in my size, I would by them... I bought two pair on sale and will use these for shorter hikes, and the adequate traction and comfort (the 'give' that I mentioned earlier) makes them a perfect choice for mowing my hilly lawn and other yard work. Interestingly, I do like the MT610's heel tread pattern better than the MT811's 'split-heel' design that a lot of New Balance styles use, which has a tendency to pick up small stones like the ones in my 2B limestone filled driveway. Overall, it's a decent shoe that just did not work with my specific footwear demands for my original intent; a long distance endurance hike. However, they are by no means a waste of money and I will surely get my use out of them for other purposes.

This has been a great shoe so far. I like that it is very light weight and airy. My feet don't get overly hot with good airflow. I don't use them for running, so might be different if you do.
