Overall, I can sum up this review with only one word "WOW"! I used to run cross-country in high school and then continued to runs as an adult. Now, I've certainly tried out running shoes in practically every single brand. Even though I occasionally chose another brand, I keep returning to the Asics GEL-Kayano as my ultimate favorite. And the model GEL-Kayano 19 has definitely not disappointed me once again. These sneakers have great support, with the perfect amount of cushioning and stability. My feet do tend to pronate slightly and I run/walk VERY heavily on my feet. Therefore, I appreciate the right amount of cushioning to prevent the pain that often starts when I run or even just stand on my feet for an extended period of time. These sneakers also possess good stability because my ankles feel well supported without the sneaker being too rigid. I would highly recommend the Asics GEL-Kayano 19 to anyone seeking a comfortable sneaker for everyday wear, as well as, for long distance running.

I needed a super comfortable shoe because I use orthotics and also my feet are sensitive to any rubbing. These shoes are not used for running, just walking, but they are the most comfortable shoe that I have ever had. I wore them out of the store and traipsed all over the Dalmatian Coast with them. Not one blister or sore feet. Great shoes. I will buy another pair so when these wear out I will be prepared. I wear 7 1/2 so I got an 8, I have a very high arch and wide toes.

The best running shoes I've ever worn. I go back and forth with my running shoes. I mostly purchase them all through Zappos and I've recently run in Adidas Supernova, Newton (trail and road) Nike air max and Nike Lunar and the Asics Gel Kayano is the best performer of all. I use an orthotic insert but these shoes have a great toe width, are supportive, responsive and overall an extremely comfortable shoe. I used to train in Asics Kayano for marathons and I'd forgotten about how great they are after taking a long break. Well I'm back and here to stay. Love the fun colors too that definitely helps in my purchasing decisions.

Saved me! I have painful knee and back problems and the first day I wore these shoes, the knee pain pretty much disappeared and a week later my back is doing better also.I ordered the wider width in my normal size 8. They fit great with a light sock or a heavy sock. They look nice as well. The best shoe buy I ever made. Highly recommend these for people with knee and/or back problems.

These are quite possibly the most comfortable shoe I've ever bought. I have flat feet and these have incredible support and cushioning. I love them!

Love these shoes. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes are the only thing that made it better. I wear them all the time now!

Big fan of Asics Gel-Kayano for years, but I use this black shoe for miles and miles of walking. Good for travel without looking like a tourist. Like walking on pillows. So comfy!

I love this shoe! I have worn the Asics Nimbus for the past 8 years but I hated the current colors offered (number 15) so after tons of research, I decided to purchase the Kayano. I needed a shoe with a lot of cushioning because of my proneness to sore knees and because I'm a "heavier" runner. Kayano is an amazing shoe! Coming from the super cushiony Nimbus, I am very happy. This shoe doesn't seem as cushioned (thick) as the Nimbus but it's just as supportive and I haven't had any issues running in them. They are less heavy/bulky than the Nimbus, which I like. I got this shoe in the Black/Pink/Lime color and I love it! It has just the right amount of "bright" colors without being overly crazy. I am 100% happy and would recommend this shoe to those looking for a little more cushion than the lightweight shoes. Also, they are labeled for "over pronators" but I am a "neutral" runner and they worked great still.

The GEL-Kayano 18 had much better support than the new 19.

I bought these shoes for a HIIT class that I attend three days a week and personal training two days a week. I always buy the higher-end Asics (over five years) and it seems that all my friends liked these so much, two others bought them about the same time. We bragged about how awesome they felt, but after about five weeks, we all had shoe melt down. Our feet were all over in our shoes and our calves and feet were aching after running, jumping, etc. I was really disappointed in these shoes for the first time.

I did not quite believe the reviews that said they fit and felt wonderful the first time they were put on. It is true! With the start of Arthritis in the feet these were a wonderful find and worth the money. I need a wide toe box and narrow heel and good cushioning, these are it.

These shoes are absolutely fantastic! I've only ever run in Asics and this is my second pair of Kayano 19s. The shoes are really lightweight and yet offer the support that I need so that my chronic hip problems don't flare up - even after a long run. I broke a cardinal running rule when I wore these only once before lacing them up for a half marathon. They were great. Comfortable for a long haul. (I will say, I sized up a full size from my everyday wear shoes, but that's standard running shoe procedure).

This is an extremely comfortable shoe right out of the box. I did not need any break in time. Bought it because it can take an orthodic. I ordered this one and the Gel-Nimbus. Both are fabulous, but I have narrow heels more so on the left heel and have heel slippage in most shoes. This shoe alleviates the problem. It hugs the heels comfortably. It has a nice space and width in the toe bed so my toes have plenty of room to move and are not crunched in or crowded. I take an 8.5 medium size in sneakers and this shoe is true to size. I LOVE ASICS.

SO comfortable and supportive. Even better than the GEL-Kayano 17, which I loved. I can understand why I see so many people at the gym, including many of the trainers, wearing these shoes.

Wow. What a comfortable shoe. I am a nurse and on my feet all the time. This shoe is very light and comfortable. I work 12 hour shifts. Can only say, very good shoe.

Comfortable from the start. No break-in time. I don't feel a lot of obvious arch support, but I think the overall design of the shoe holds my feet right so that my back is happy. I am on my feet, on tile, for hours at a time, if not all day. My feet feel great in these shoes. The shoes have good air circulation--so watch out on rainy days.

I normally wear a Gel-1170 and they were discontinued so I tried these, reluctantly! They are awesome. I know they are pricey but if you are a runner, these give your foot so much cushion. My feet rarely get tired. These are great. I want a pair in every color! My normal shoe size (non running shoes) is 9. I ordered a 9.5 and they fit perfectly. I used to run in Nike, I am a true Asics fan now.

Nothing but amazing. These shoes are comfy for my somewhat wide foot. They are pretty, the service could not be any better. I love Zappos and these sneaks are so nice I hate to even wear them. But I do and and I love every second in them. Go Zappos!

The best running shoes ever. I have 3 Asics running shoes and this one is the best of them all. I'm 56 years old and I run 1 mile 2 to 3 times a week. I have a knee problem, but with this shoes I can run without feeling the pain on my knee.

These shoes are the best GEL-Kayano style I have purchased (out of 4). They are incredibly light, even noticeably lighter than the 18's. The fit is a gentle wrap around my very sensitive feet. I am 60 years old with joint pain and run 5-6 miles every morning (and place or win in my age bracket when racing). I need good running shoes. I would give them a 5 only I have noticed the front does not seem as padded as the 18s; however, I would not trade the fit/support and weightlessness to have that minimal difference back. My favorite so far.

I've worn the Asics Nimbus for the past 8 years for running and I LOVE that shoe. However, I hate the current colors offered so I decided to try out the Kayano. I guess I mistakenly thought with the price they would be similar to the Nimbus. Wrong! They are not even close to the cushion and comfort of the Nimbus. The insoles are much firmer and provide little shock resistance. I am considered a "heavier" runner so I just need a lot of cushion and the Kayano didn't do it for me. I even bought Dr. Scholls Active Inserts and that didn't help. Would not recommend if you are heavy or need more cushion.

I bought the raspberry/mango/lime color. They are very bright and fun and I love them. I had gone to a running store one time where they watch you walk without your shoes and fit you to shoes appropriate to any issues you may have. Apparently I over pronate a bit, so since then, I have been buying exercise shoes that help with over-pronation. I wear a 7 1/2 and that is what I ordered in this shoe. There is plenty of room in the toe box which is very comfortable, the arch is ample and I really feel like the shoe hugs my foot when I put it in and lace it up. I'm not solely a runner. I mostly power walk and will alternate running and walking. I use them on my treadmill as well. I'd recommend giving them a try if you're thinking about them. There was also no breaking-in time, they were comfortable from the first time I put them on. Thanks for reading...

I love this shoe! I usually wear my Asics right out of the box, but this felt a little stiff so it would have needed some "breaking in." But unfortunately, I'm returning this shoe as I cannot justify the high price. Sturdy and good looking shoe! It would probably last forever!
