I was super disappointed by this boot. I am 5'2" and wear a size 6.5 shoe. I am thin with a strong athletic build and my calves are a size 15.5". This boot did not even come close to zipping over my calf. The boot was so comfortable in the actual shoe so i was pretty upset that it didn't work over the calf. It is nearly impossible to find great boots that fit all over. Considering the boot claimed to fit over larger calves, I thought this was going to be a home run but it was a total strike out. I have to return them. :(

So disappointed about these boots. I have had my eye on these for such a long time and finally broke down and splurged. As stated by many other reviewers, these are simply not wide calf boots. Not by a long shot. My calves are on the wide side, but I actually own many non-wide calf boots that fit much better than these. I have read some other reviewers talk about the elastic on the top lending some additional stretch. Let me tell you, the elastic actually does nothing to to assist in any kind of additional stretch because with the stretch at the top of the boot, it lends no assistance to actually getting the zipper zipped when it's stuck in the middle. The other issue is the boots are a bit on the short side. They have this awkward length that ends up making your already wide calves more accentuated with a delightful muffin top spilling out from atop the boot. I wear a size 9, so I assumed the circumference would be at it's maximum at that size, but don't be fooled. If you have slightly larger calves, no matter what size you are, these boots won't work. Your legs will look like two stuffed sausages and the stuffed sausage look just isn't an ideal look to be rocking'! Epic fail, Miz Mooz. Epic fail.

I bought these in the 11 and the foot is just right for me. I am actually a 10 W or WW, but the majority of boots fit me best in an 11 with medium socks. The unusual shape of the foot is pretty much the shape of my foot. I think these will be the only shoes in which my little toes don't have to make a bump-out on the side before they are comfortable. The width though, in the size 11 is almost too wide. My calves are 17 1/4"on the right and 17 1/2" on the left. I can easily get my whole hand in to these at the top. That is Ok- I think that means I will be able to wear them over jeans, which I can hardly ever do. However, while my calves are wide, my ankles are not, nor the area just above them. For me, there is too much width there. They would be great for my youngest daughter who often can hardly zip boots over her sturdy ankles even though she is not the least overweight. So if you have big legs overall in a big foot size, these would be perfect. Since they have a kind of slouchy design, the extra material in the ankle and lower calf doesn't look too bad, and I am going to keep them. Comfort level was great, right out of the box. Now that material- the smooth parts on foot and heel look like leather, but the crinkly parts had me wondering if it was really leather. I think it is, because the inside of the top of the calf is clearly leather. It is just what they have done to get that crinkled look that made me wonder. What else? The color of the red ones is closer to a burgundy than to a true red. A good color, but it means I still have to be looking for those red red boots! I hope this answers someone's questions. I wish Zappos would measure the circumference of tall boots in each size and publish it.

If you have a larger calf, check out these cute boots! My calf is about 15 1/2" and I can zip these boots with legging or skinny jean. The buttons are a cute element. The little heel makes the boot a bit more comfortable than a flat boot.

Is it legal to marry boots? Lol. Just Kidding! I have had my eye on these boots for a year and really wish that I bought them a year ago. It is so hard to find boots that do not have buckles so when I saw these boots with the cute button detail, it was love at first sight. They are super comfortable, true to size and the wine color is so rich in person. I am glad that I got the wide calf. My calves are about 15½" around and these boots 16" circumference opening are just right. I can even wear jeans if needed. There is a gore (triangular cut out at the top) that allows for stretch too, if needed. I have gotten so many compliments on these boots. Miz Mooz is one of my favorite shoe brands and these boots reaffirm why.

These are really cool boots! I love that they are roomy in the toes/box. The heel is cool and they are comfortable. I would have expected a bit more comfort for the price, I did have to put in a small insole so the floor didn't feel so hard. Maybe that's because I'm over 40! I am sure younger women may not feel the same way. I think that is important to include in these reviews. But anyway I am a true size 8, don't have a wide or narrow foot but my big toe did hit the front of the boot so I think I will go 1/2 size up to accomodate socks and a more comfy insole. I do love them.

The pair ordered was definitely not wide. I have about a 16 1/2" calf, and these would not even zip. The look cute, but can't get them zipped so they're going back.

These boots are my first pair from Miz Mooz and I absolutely adore them. I got them in red and love that they give a pop of color without looking trashy. The color is more deep and rich, instead of vibrant. I’ve gotten so many compliments on the color and the style. The rounded toe gives my toes plenty of wiggle room and the heel is comfortable for everyday wear. I’d call these boots “urban comfy”. They’re stylish, but comfortable enough for trekking through the city. I typically wear a size 6, but opted to get these in a 6.5 so I could wear thicker socks with them. They fit perfectly. My calves measure 15” and I had no problem zipping these up. I’m 5’ tall and they come about an inch below my knees.

ok girls with larger calves - THESE are for YOU!! They fit my larger leg perfectly and I didn't even need to break them in! The style is adorable - and I have worn them several times in just a month! The heel feels kind of springy so they are super comfortable to walk around in. I have been able to wear these with tucked in leggings and skinnys with NO problem. I am thinking about ordering another color too!

OH I am so happy with these, i was looking for a low heeled but stylish boot for fall and winter, and finding something of quality that also fits a larger calf was getting frustrating, these fit awesome 100% through and through the shaft is almost perfectly form fitting to my leg, (my ankles are thing and usually gape a little as these do) Miz Mooz does it again. Bless for you for making gorgeous and comfy shoes.

Love these boots! I'm 5'7" and I have pretty long, strong legs that wear skinny jeans well but still (for some reason) require "wide-calf" boots. These boots fit me perfectly. I wear a 9 regular and that is the size I ordered; they are very true to size. What I love most about them is the way the footbed is shaped. It makes your feet look very small and petite. The style is unique and vintage, perfect for fall. They are very comfortable boots and best of all, the leather is buttery smooth, supple, high-quality. Highly recommend!

I love these boots! The calf is wide enough to accommodate my leg and wear leggings or skinny jeans tucked in. They are very cute boots and the leather is soft and shiny. I bought them a whole size bigger so I can wear heavy socks with them in winter but I think they run a little small so I need the extra room also for my wide feet.

I love these. They look great, fit great and were comfortable enough to wear walking all over a museum on the first time wearing them. No blisters! I would definitely recommend them.

This is my second pair of Miz Mooz boots this season! I wear a size 10 with a wider calf and slightly wide foot. I first ordered the red and when I put them on they fit like they were made for me! I wore them right out of the box for my work day and they were just so comfortable. The red is more of a darker red which is exactly what I was looking for. I needed a new black pair and shopped around zappos website and ordered a different brand. I wore them a few times and was never quite comfortable with them so I ended up ordering the black ones in this style . When they arrived I slipped them on and comfortably wore them an entire day . So, I now have my red and black boots in this style and a brown pair of Miz Mooz in a different style that I ordered 3 years ago and they are still in great shape. I have enough room to wear them with tights, socks and can easily zip them over a fitted pair of jeans. I always get compliments on each pair whenever I wear them! Love these boots and miz mooz! I wish they'd make a few wide calf styles each season .

For everyone whose ankles are not as large as the calf area, Miz Mooz Bloom Wide Calf are the boots to get. The folds prevent the ankle area from appearing to sag. The boots are soft and stylish. They zipped easily for me (16 1/2 calf). The only negative, for me, is there is no cushionin the footbed. I attempted to use an insert -- just would not fit. Anyone with any ideas about this part other than returning them? Love these boots! Also, a huge thank you to Zappos for free shipping! My feet are hard to fit. Last winter, after many tries I found a Keen short boot that fits perfectly. There is no way we can get as broad a selection as Zappos and the opportunity to try them on in our own homes. Thank you again!

Love these! They fit perfectly around the calf (size 11). Also, they are very comfortable, and have a decent arch support built in. You can wear them all day. I have gotten quite a few compliments on them. The buttons on the side really make them stand out from other standard tall boots. Be careful though, I had a button fall off on my first pair after the 3rd time I wore them. I called Zappos, and they sent me a new pair the next day!

These fit me perfectly. I have a 17in calf and didn't have any difficulty zipping the boot all the way. Fit like a dream, and look fabulous! I ordered in a 7 1/2, which is my typical shoe size and the boots are perfect for me in that size.

These are by far the most comfortable boots (or shoes) that I have ever worn, especially right out of the box! They fit me perfectly both in the foot and the calf, and they are so cute! I love the buttons, I love the shape of the upper/toe box, and I love the wedge heel. I will be anxiously awaiting more colors to come back into stock in my size. I have the grey (which is mottled just enough to go well with several different shades of gray clothing) and want these in every color I can get. They will be my go-to boots, I can already tell. If I could give these 10 or 20 stars, I would!

I love these boots! I bought them in both the stone and black colors -- can't wait for the cold weather to wear them! Beware, however -- I had to send back my first order because my usual size was a half size too small. Just too snug in the foot, especially with heavier socks, which is what you would wear with these. The inside lining is super soft, and the leather is very soft and luxurious. I think these were great buy!

I usually wear a 10. I read a bunch reviews and decided to get an 11. The length of the foot was average about a 10. I thought the width was more than acceptable - I actually have a bunch of room. I am 5'8" and 220 pounds. My calves are not small, but tight from working out. I thought there is more than adequate room. I do have smaller ankles and I wish that they would have been a little bit tighter in the ankle but other than that - everything was very awesome. I am so glad to find boots that not only fit and are comfortable, but I do not completely hate. That is a rare occasion.

This is the perfect stylish, comfort boot. The nice round toe makes the shoe a bit wider, which I needed (I usually wear an 8.5 W, but got these in a 9). The extended calf fits over jeans & cords with some room to move around. Super comfortable and looks great!

I'm 6'1 and have 17.5" calf circumference at the widest point, which is where these boots hit on me in a size 11 (about 2.75" below the knee). I have a hard time finding boots to fit, as regular ones are too tight and wide-calf boots are too baggy. These are just right with jeans tucked into them; maybe a little loose on bare legs, but not enough to look weird. I agree with the other reviewer that the people who said these were too tight probably received the regular circumference by accident. They are the most comfortable boots I have every worn, with soft leather inside and out, and a rounded toe box and comfortable insole. The ankle is slim enough that they don't look baggy, but not too tight to be comfortable over jeans. I was worried the ruching would make my legs look even bigger, but actually they are very flattering. The "buttons" seem to be very firmly fixed on, and unlikely to come off (something I was worried about). I got them in green, which is a lovely olive; 6 people at work today have complimented me on them and I've only been here an hour! I am so happy with them that I have bought them in another color.

These boots are glorious. They are just wide enough for my wide calf, without gaping. They are all supple leather. The heel is nice and low. They have that swashbuckling Victorian look and the red is just stunning. You want these boots. They were a little roomy in the foot but I like that so I can wear them with thick socks. I might add a superfeet insert since the padding on the footbed is not really squishy at all.
