Love these boots but be warned: if you get the burgundy color the boots are drastically different than in the photos. They are much darker, pretty much black with a subtle red undertone. I thought I got the wrong shoes at first, especially because the color on the box was "cherry" not "burgundy rub-off" as indicated above. But when I exchanged them for the right boot, I got the same thing. I think maybe they are designed to rub-off with time and show more of the red, but they definitely do not look like the photos. They are still very slick boots, and will be more comfortable once broke in. Attached are photos so you can see the difference with the color.

I've had mine for THREE YEARS. They are amazing and have held up incredibly well. Despite a little scuffing, they still look put together and I get regular compliments. Use the boot balm regularly and the leather will hold up in rain and snow. Pro tip: I ordered a size down and got Birkenstock insoles. They are a little tight at first but break in beautifully and with the insoles are comfortable to walk in. I travel a lot and do most of my exploring on foot and have walked over 200 miles in these. I just ordered my second pair in the tan available in Doc Stores.

I wore Docs in oxblood in the 90s, and normally would not revisit trends in my 40s, but these have polish, style, and quality. They're gorgeous and sleek. The color is a bit more subtle/dark than I expected (I ordered the wine color), but they're just smashing with skinny jeans and trousers. Of course, they're stiff at first (as expected) but I think they'll continue to break in well. Worth the investment. They do run quite large. I normally wear an 11 but the 10 fits perfectly.

I’m usually a 7 1/2, sometimes 7 depending on the brand / shoe, but pretty much a true 7 1/2. I have flat feet with a medium width. I was conflicted between ordering a 6 or a 7. I read the reviews and leaned towards a 7. I had to return the 7 for a size 6. The size 6 fit perfectly. A tad snug, but I know the leather will stretch after some wear. I don’t write many reviews, but I was very confused based off the reviews on here and online. I own the original Dr Martens and they’re a size 7 and fit fine. So I figured a size 7 would be fine. These boots were huge in a 7. My heel slipped out, I had too much toe room and they just looked big. I am so happy I swapped for the 6 because they’re really great boots. I can wear thick socks and they’re still comfy. Hope this helps others!

These are wonderful. They aren't bulky and the soles get you through ice and snow with ease. You'll need to order one size smaller than your usual size. The top of the boots will be stiff the first few days you wear them, so make sure you wear long socks those days. The rest of the boot is comfortable right out of the box. I've been wearing them most days of the week this winter. They go with everything.

Color not as red as in the photo, which is disappointing. My family thought the shoe was brown. But overall a chic shoe! Can’t wait to break them in.

Love these. Get lots of compliments. I downsized as suggested in several reviews but had to exchange them for my true size 9. The size 8 was too snug and I did not think about that I have to add an arch support to my shoes. Th e size 9 and my arch insert work just fine.

True to size! Ordered a size down based on other reviews and had to return. My regular size was perfect, especially with mid weight socks. I love them, instant fashion statement.

I tried the Dr. Martens Flora Chelsea boot but decided in the end to return them. The positives: Great look and finish to the leather, good fit (true to size) and a nice sheen on these boots. The toe is slightly pointed and the polish glossy, for a more dressy finish than the usual Docs. Comfortable right out of the box. On the negative end, the ankle opening is large and even with Smartwool medium cushion socks, a bit loose. Sizing down would have not been a good decision on my US size 8 feet. In the end, I returned these because I have another black pair of chelsea boots in another brand that fit better and have a more feminine, sleek profile. My daughters both own these boots, though, and love them. I ended up with a 1460W lace-up instead.

I’ve been eyeing these boots for awhile before finally deciding to spend the money on it. Based on reviews I ordered a size 9 (my regular size) but it felt too tight with a thin sock. I exchange for a size 10 (my usual size in boots that allows for comfy thick socks) and it fit and feel great. The extra room makes it more comfy and allows for an insert for more arch support. When the size 9 arrive it looked like it was worn or at least tried on multiple times. There were creases at the toe and ankle area. The color was also already lighter. The size 10 looks brand new. The color difference was evident when I saw both side by side. I understand that people try on and return shoes but I don’t want purchase something that’s supposed to be new and clearly has signs of wear on it. Especially not at this price point. These boots are so gorgeous and can easily be dressed up or down.

I am able to wear a Vionic insole inside my boots, and they still fit perfectly. I feel unstoppable in these - they are all weather, great city walking shoes. The red color has become more vibrant with wear. Looking forward to having these for many seasons to come.

I usually wear an 8 and ordered that size but ended up returning and sizing down because the 8 was too big. I wear a 38 in birkenstocks (size down also) to give a point of reference.

Boots were exactly as I expected, sized up a little since they don’t carry half sizes, which was just fine since I have wide feet. Burgundy was dark, but is not so dark you mistake it for black in daylight. Took a day or two to break-in, a little stuff around the ankle and top of foot, but no blisters. I do think I want to buy an insole for added comfort and to take up a little more space when not wearing thick socks. I work in a restaurant, and these have great slip-resistance

Overall, I love these boots! They are just chunky enough without being too much and they were probably my most comfortable Docs ever right out of the box. They run a tiny bit big, but not so much that I would size down.

Having never had a pair of Dr. Martens before, I ordered my usual size 9 in boots. Zappos recommended a smaller size, but years of running have taught me to size up when in doubt. Size 9 boots always feel the most comfortable on my feet because I like to wear socks (sometimes thick socks). I am glad I sized up in these. I wanted a boot I could easily get in and out of with minimal effort, wear thick socks (these shoes have zero insulation), and add an insole/orthotic if I wanted (these shoes have no arch support to me, but I knew this brand was trash in that regard coming in). I can do all of these things now due to getting the UK7/US 9 for my usually US 8.5 foot. As far as aesthetics, they are exactly what I wanted. Very pretty black with a bit of shine. And not too expensive. Just a very basic, black chelsea boot. And that's what I wanted.

I really like the style of the Chelsea boot, but just didn't feel like I would be able to last all day in them. The ankle was a bit loose and there was not much support. I decided to return them and continue my search for the perfect boot.

I didn't even try these on, because when I received them the shoes had significant creasing across the flex point. The soles looked pristine, which leads me to think that they had perhaps been tried on before, but not worn. The finish of the shoes is a high polish, so the creasing was quite obvious and drew the eye. If that is what resulted from someone just trying them on (or worse, if that's how they came from the factory) then I can't imagine they will wear very well. Since I was looking for a pair of shoes that were a little bit dressier than a traditional Doc Marten, which otherwise these did look like, that wasn't going to work for me.

I usually wear a 7.5 shoe and I ordered a UK 5 (US Women's 7) and they fit perfect. At first the top of the shoe sort of pushed on the top of my feet and it was uncomfortable but after walking around in them for a few days it has already basically resolved. And they look SO GOOD. Will probably put an insole in at some point and I think they will still fit really well.

Fit a little large but super cute boots! I wear them everywhere.

I wish I hadn’t listened to the reviews saying this boot runs big, it doesn’t. I wear an 8 in almost all the shoes I own and this boot is no exception. The 7 was way too small. It’s a great looking boot, looking forward to wearing it this winter.

Nice finish, a bit shiny and a deep burgundy. Stiff upper, but after day 3 are feeling much more comfortable. All in all, seriously in love with this shoes.

I love a good boot and these are one of my favorite pairs! I lusted after these for over a year but was hesitant to buy because I had never owned a pair of Dr Martens before and couldn't find them in a store to try on. Finally my awesome husband took pity on me and purchased them for me in September as an extra early Christmas present and I fell in LOVE. They are a beautiful dark burgundy/oxblood color that turns to a brighter almost cherry red as they wear. After four months of heavy use they only have a few small spots where the brighter red shows through, I can't wait to see these after a few years! I'm normally a 7.5 but wear an 8 in boots in order to have room for heavy socks, however I had to exchange these for a size 7 because I was swimming in the 8's. When I first received them they were a bit tight across the top of my foot but after wearing them 2-3 days they broke in beautifully and are perfect for wearing with thicker socks, they're still a bit loose with thin socks but not so much that they flop around on my foot. I wear these all day at my casual office job and for running errands and going out, and never have any issues with comfort, I would however purchase a more supportive insole if I were to wear these for traveling or walking/standing for any extended amount of time. Overall these were a fantastic purchase and absolutely worth the price.

These are a gorgeous pair of boots however....I had to return them since they were too big. I am typically a women's size 8, and have size 8's in other styles of docs but this size 8 felt a full size larger. They were very comfortable and easy to get on/off. The only other thing that I wasn't thrilled about was the sheen on this boot, I absolutely *loved* the deep, rich color but they were really shiny, so shiny they looked like a pair of rain boots or plastic. I am now sad, can't seem to find these boots in my size anywhere :((

I purchased for daughter who needs an 11 1/2. Which it seems NO manufacturers make, 12's too big, even with insets (especially slip-on shoes). So with this in mind, these 11's work. So they must run slightly big. Thank you. NO Arch support! We're hoping to add a small arch support so she can wear for long periods of time. When she walks, near where the toes bend, she states it rubs into foot. Hoping this will soften. She loves the look, & color.
