I've been looking for a cool, simple bag to carry my study material for a while. And I found exactly what I was looking for. The color combination is my favorite. The muted yet smiling gray has a slight sheen to it which doesn't look as casual as canvas. Perfectly complemented by soft, matte, medium brown leather straps. And like your favorite suit the interior, with the awesome candy cane stripes, lets 'em know that it's all about business and all about fashion. The build quality is top notch. Comfort is great with the padded back and shoulder straps. And very functional with secondary zippered pocket underneath the flap and more then ample size. Would've happily paid $125 at Saks. Love this bag.

This backpack is super stylish but not super functional. It is small - it just fits my planner, my large notebook, an iPad + keyboard, and a small book. The pocket is annoyingly placed - you have to undo the flap to get to it - and not very capacious. The real problem with this bag, though, is that the snaps just don't hold it shut. It opens often, even as I swing it onto my back sometimes, and as it gets fuller (and we're not talking that full) it opens constantly. It's so cute that I still wear it, but only when I am trying extra hard to look good and am not carrying a load.

Oh, I've been looking for a unique, good quality backpack that is stylish enough for my urban life, but comfortable enough to actually use. I'm sorry to say that this backpack was not the quality piece that I expected. It was comfortable enough, but I was less than impressed with the quality of the bag. I'm not sure if the straps are actually leather, but they sure didn't feel or look like they were. And the candy-stripper lining was a cheap looking nylon fabric. Boo! Back it goes and my search continues.

I really love the look of this bag, but it is not as functional as I need it to be. The closure straps are magnet and constantly come undone leaving my bag accessible to anyone behind me. I was hoping to use it as a bag for grad school but it isn't big enough for my MacBook and a book. This might be better for someone who has a light load and isn't walking through their city on a daily basis. I've gotten tons of compliments on it though but the lack of functionality is a deal breaker for me!

I got this bag last September. Right off the bat, I was frustrated by the straps - the snaps are not sturdy enough and the bag would fly open unexpectedly (a problem on crowded subways and other places where you don't want your bag open). Seven months later of light use, the leather on the straps is already wearing off - the edges have cracked and the straps are getting stretched. It's a cute bag, and the capacity is nice, but I am so disappointed in the lack of durability. Coupled with the snap design issue, I can't really recommend this bag.

I love this bag! Functional, fits my 15" Macbook Pro, and is great for me because I'm really short and have trouble finding backpacks that look professional.

I purchased this bag from Zappos two years ago and have been wearing it every day at school since then. I got it in black and the canvas is very good quality, I've had no frays or tears whatsoever and that is with it frequently sitting on the floor while in class. While the canvas is great, the poly inside, though fab with the candy cane stripes, has some fraying going on. The fraying isn't too bad though and is kind of expected with spiral notebooks, folders, etc. being removed and returned all day long. The inside is also very stain resistant, I've had coffee leak a few times and there is little sign of the spills. The faux leather straps are cracking at this point, but they stayed in tact for many months. The additional pocket in front is very handy for small items. If you have a ton of stuff to carry around this is not for you. The magnets just are not made for the packrat person and will come undone while walking. Moral of the story is that I will buy this bag again when my current one finally gets too beat up.

What a lovely backpack! It is well made, comfortable, and has a classy look. No matter how many objects I pack and how heavy it feels once you wear it, the weight is distributed quite evenly. Great product and even greater customer service from Zappos team!!

Good purchase. Because it's flat I don't feel like I'm knocking out nearby strangers any time I turn or rotate in a crowd. It's relatively small, but it holds what a work tote would hold, which is what I use it to do. People say the flap doesn't close when the bag is full, but the straps are adjustable so I'm not sure what the problem is. It's a great quality bag that gets a lot of compliments, but it's not one of Herschel's most popular models.

I've been eyeing this bag for a while and I'm so happy I finally decided to purchase. This is a perfect bag for being on the go! It fits my tablet and other personal items with no problem. It's a perfect slim size...not too bulky. Very durable quality. Would definitely recommend.

This bag has a lot of room and I really like the urban twist on the scout bag look. I'm sure it is awesome for surveying as well.

This is such a cute bag. It's true that the magnets don't easily clasp, but once they're connected, I haven't had a problem with them coming undone. It's pretty roomy though, and I've gotten a ton of compliments on it so far. Overall, a really good bag.

I bought this backpack to use for commuting. I like the size because it forces me to pare down what I carry each day and isn't as bulky as other backpacks. However, I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the straps. I do not carry very much in the bag and occasionally carry my laptop, but not all the time. At most I'm carrying 2-4 pounds of weight in the bag. I've had this bag for less than six months and already the straps have cracked and the threads are fraying. The craftsmanship is quite poor and I won't be buying a Herschel bag again. I understand things wear over time, but would have expected to have the backpack for at least a year before it began to break down. I would recommend looking at other backpack brands in a similar style.

The shape of this bag is not so great. It folds weirdly on the top corners. Also there are no pockets inside nor does it have any other closure other than the top flap so things can easily fall out. I think it is a bad design overall.
