Really like Merrell footwear and very happy with Zappos service, but the decorative buttons on the boots were poorly made. I am not hard on shoes and just wore these to work, which is a lot of sitting in a cube. A few buttons fell off within the first 10 wears. I contacted Zappos asking for extra buttons and they offered a straight exchange instead (I really appreciated this, by the way). Unfortunately, the new boots lost a button within the first 3 times I wore them. I love the boots, but it seems pointless to pursue this again, so I'll see if a shoe repair shop can replace all the buttons with something more sturdy.

I love(d) these boots. They are cute and the best for walking a lot as one does in New York. They keep me dry and comfortable. This season I bought a second pair after wearing them for a few years. The problem is, this time four of the buttons and a leather strip have come off within a few weeks. I wrote the company on their website to see if they can send me some.

The buttons pop off. Although Merrell sent me replacement buttons, they don't just pop on. I had to take them to a shoemaker to have them repaired, then others popped off. I have them in brown and black. They cost way too much to have to deal with the buttons constantly popping off.

I loved these boots. They fit great, they go with jeans and leggings and skirts, they are super comfortable and I barely had to break them in. I bought them at the end of the winter as an investment because I knew that I would wear them into spring and next fall and winter. But I have only warn them for a month now and the buttons which are a totally adorable feature are coming off! One fell off this weekend and I thought that I would take them in and to a shoe repair store and get it replaced, then today I realized that four more are falling off! I am incredibly disappointed. When you pay so much for a pair of boots you expect the quality to be high enough for them not to fall apart after a month.

I bought a 10.5 to compensate for my narrow 11-sized foot. While the length was fine, the boot was much too roomy from toe to heel and through the ankle. They also didn't look great on me -- I'm 5'11", and the calf was too short and too wide. If all I had to do was stand all day, though, these would be the soles I'd choose, because the insoles are very cushy.

I had the same problems with the buttons falling off as a previous reviewer. On my third day wearing them 2 buttons came off. I wanted these boots to be something I'd own for several years which I think the overall boot would. But if two buttons popped off after 3 wearings, that does not bode well for the longevity of the boot. there is a bright silver piece of metal where the button used to be so it's really obvious (and ugly) when the button comes off! I returned them as I do not want to be dealing with this problem for years to come.

I bought these boots for a trip to Toronto. The tread underneath does not grip in snow/ice and the second time I wore them a button came off the back. For the high price, they didn't last 2 uses.

I really wanted to love these boots. They are so cool looking. I'm a long-time Merrell fan & they are generally the shoes that fit me best. However, I found these boots to me not as comfortable as my other Merrells. They felt a little stiff in the foot bed. I may have kept them even with that, but I could not get the zipper all the way up! I am not a large woman & my legs are not big, but the zipper was extremely tight at the top. The only way I could wear these boots would be with very thin tights. No way they would fit around a pear of leggings or jeans. Unfortunately, I had to return then. :(

Unfortunately, I can't give this boot a very good review. I've worn my about five or six times and found today that one of the faux buttons on the side has popped off, leaving an unsightly bright silver plug behind. They're really not too useful anymore, unless I can figure out some way to camouflage this problem. Bad idea, Merrell.

Wanted something a little dressier looking, and fit was very large. Ironically, I order 2 pairs of this same brand, same size. This one fit like a 10, the other one (a hiker) fit like a 9. I ordered a 9.5 in each.

I love these boots! They are so comfortable in the foot/heel. My problem is my calves are too big. I couldn't zip them all the way up bare skin, let alone with long socks on. If you want to wear these over pants, make sure your calves are at least 1/2-1 inch smaller than the circumference.

Very stylish and pretty, work well dressed down or up, jeans or skirt. The leather is a good medium between normal finish and slightly distressed. The texture feels thick and it feels well made. With that said, it was very difficult to get my foot in. I had to stand up and pull and tug on the boot substantially. I measure 15.5 at the calves and I couldn't bring the zipper all the way up. Sadly, these didn't work out.

My ankles and calves are pretty small and this just wasn't the right cut for me. They felt bulky and wide. I'm a size 9. Maybe an 8 1/2 would have worked but I didn't think I could go much smaller in the length. Also, the tabs on the back protruded more on one boot than the other so there seemed to be an issue with the manufacturing. A nice looking boot without a nice fit, at least for me.

Loved the boot at first and then all the buttons started to fall off, so the back strips dangle. Didn't expect this from Merrell. Will have to toss them after 1 season. Very disappointed as I am normally a big Merrell fan.

I love these boots! I actually have the Tetra Launch, which is what they called this boot 2 years ago. HOWEVER, I am only giving this product 1 star because after 2.5 years of moderate wear (I live in CT and wear them 2-3 times a week during the winter), the zipper broke and Merrell's "lifetime" warranty apparently does not cover past 1.5 years. Even if they did cover it, since they have none of these boots in stock anymore, they would not replace it. North Face, on the other hand, not only honors their lifetime warranties, but if they no longer carry what you need replaced will give you the money to buy it somewhere else. Stay away from Merrell! If you want to spend nearly a lot, it's better spent on a different brand.

I love these boots. They're stylish and truly waterproof. The buttons fall off though within days of wearing them. So end the end, they're just not worth it.

Very cute boots but a snap fell off after wearing them for the first time and the strap is dangling. had the same problem with same pair in brown; half of the snaps have fallen off over the course of 3 months. Returning black; have to live with brown pair.

These are terrifically comfortable and completely waterproof. I can wear under or over jeans (even a fuller cut jean leg fits inside). BUT the buttons come off!! Lots of them. I've lost 6 in a year. Not good. At this price, the buttons shouldn't drop off. Am contacting Merrell and other reviews suggest they'll send me more, but I shouldn't have to take out my glue gun or go to a shoe repair place. I hope Merrell finally fixes this problem.

I really like the appearance of these boots, but they are not right for me. I bought a size 9, which is my normal size (occasionally 9.5). Length is fine, but they are too tall through the foot and ankle. Not wide, but tall. There is about a 1" gap between the top of my foot and the boot. The same is true at the front of the ankle. I have several pairs of tall boots, and have never experienced this problem before. It leads to an unpleasant sloshing and lifting feeling when I walk, probably blisters if worn for any length of time. Even worse, the calves are huge. I have a 14" calf, above it says that an 8.5 has a 14" calf. Well these 9's boots have a 15.75" calf. Even with jeans there is serious gapping. With tights and a skirt they wouldn't look good at all. I rechecked the labels and I wasn't accidentally sent a wide calf pair, they are just that big. Too bad.

These are not the orthopedic dream that everyone says they are. They give me cramps in my arches immediately, because there's absolutely no arch support. Will be returning!

Not good. Very cute boot but like past posts...I have worn my boots 3 times and 2 buttons off the back are missing. And my boots havn't even been in the now yet. Nothing but silver hardware left. Style and comfort are fantastic.

These are super cute boots and I got a lot of compliments on them but I was completely disappointed when after wearing them out the second time I came home to find 3 of the buttons had fallen off to reveal cheap looking metal stubs in its place! I wasn't doing anything crazy, just walking around the town. I value Merrell's for their quality above all else but these boots are just cheep garbage. I'm sorry to say this but please save your money, this is not a quality product.
