Merrell makes very good shoes and these have been no exception. I wear them for hiking or walks around my neighborhood. I do about 25 miles a week. They were very stiff at first, and remained that way for a while. Once they were broken in, they were and remain very comfortable, durable, sturdy and stylish. I just bought a second pair from another seller on the web, but my first pair came from Zappos.

My previous few pairs of walking/running/sports shoes were from another major shoe brand, but I bought a new pair from a local store and the fit and quality were very disappointing. After a few days, I returned them. This is the first time I bought shoes online, and also my first pair of Merrell shoes. The shoes fit true to length and width, they're light and comfortable, and they look pretty darn good. I've been using my Merrells for a few weeks now and I'm very happy with them.

These are my first pair of Merrells, although I do have a pair of Wolverine boots. With warm weather ahead, I was looking for something lightweight, breathable, and with good traction for the wet days. They fit true to size, and are very comfortable out of the box (I usually have to add an insert). Traction feels excellent. I can definitely recommend the Phoenix Ventilator based on initial impressions. Longevity remains to be seen. The reviews here were helpful in choosing which style to get, so I'm paying that back in kind.

Bought these for my husband. He will only wear Merrell's these days. He has a super bad back, herniated disks/bugling disks. He swears the shoes have helped, so be it. He said they are super comfy and light. His feet don't sweat. Wear's them to work everyday. We go through a lot of Merrells. I would recommend to anyone. True to size.

Great shoes. True to fit and really comfortable. I have high arches and Ive found that only Merrells are comfortable all day.

Just an average shoe. The arch support was uncomfortable, for me. I thought the footbed, of the Tucson was better. However, the ankle height is better, on these. Both are very similar, in style and shape.

Perfect fit. Merrells are my go to walking shoes. I'm 65 and walk 5-10 miles a day. These last me 6 months and I never have foot problems.

Great looking, always liked Merrell shoes for their good foot support. The Phoenix ventilator is no exception. I like the mesh type sneaker/shoe because I can just throw them in the washing machine and they clean up nicely.

My son has wanted these Merrell shoes for school for several years. He goes to a private school and wears these shoes three times per week. They have always lasted the entire school year, which is amazing. They are sporty enough that he feels comfortable on the playground. They are dressy enough that they work as school shoes. He loves the casual look of them. We buy these every year!

Just what I was looking for. Comfortable weekend shoes, adequate for a short hike and good looking enough to wear to work on casual Fridays.

Have been wearing Merrell's for the last ten years as work shoes. Phoenix Ventilator is a shoe that has a wide base, very stable, which makes them feel larger than they are but they are very light in weight. I am in them 14 hours a day and they are quite comfortable. I like them much better than a comparable pair of New Balance. Recommended.

These are my second pair of Pheonix Ventilators, and so far the best fitting hiking shoes I have tried out. I like the wide toe box that allows room for my feet to swell over the day, and doesn't pinch, or rub on the my toes. My first pair lasted about 700 miles of hiking. They are a hard shoe to find in stores, so I'm happy that Zappos carries them.

Bought these for my husband and he really likes them. Very comfortable and supportive. Merrells are always a great shoe. Very well made and great support.

Excellent product, long-wearing. I bought them for our son who has a mobile tool business. He walks all day in these. They provide great support and are very comfortable.

Very comfortable and lightweight shoe. I walked a week and a half in Alaska in these last year, they showed very little wear, but I tired of the color and bought a second pair of another color.

These shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I was pleased that I could find these in brown. I also have the lighter color.

Great pair of shoes. I was looking for a pair of sneaker - work shoe and I found it. I wear these shoes all day for work and my feet feel great. I never write reviews but wanted to because I am satisfied with the purchase.

These shoes are comfortable to wear all day long. I use them as my every day shoes for work. I get about six - eight months worth of wear before I order another pair. I will keep getting them until they stop making them.

Good straight-forward shoe, comfortable but firm insole/sole. I tried the Moab Ventilator initially, but there is too much volume in that shoe for me. This model is slightly "skinnier" and fit my foot better. I'm generally a 10.5 but needed the 11 in this one.

Great overall walking shoe or trail shoe. I bought for work (I work on a golf course) and was looking for overall support. They are not terribly water resistant, but I try to only use them on dry days, etc. I do like them and would purchase again.

Great shoe. Bought them 6 months ago while renovating a cabin in Michigan. Hold up great on the trails and rocks, even when slippery. Look as good as the day I bought them. Not much ventilation causing feet to sweat on warm days, especially back home in Florida. Would recommend for those living in cooler areas.

Excellent service. My shoe was defective and developed a hole on one side. I called the customer service and was connected immediately. The representative was extremely nice and understanding and promised me that a replacement will be sent and I should expect it by day after tomorrow. The replacement arrived the very next day. How this happened I do not know because I called from Houston around 6pm. They also sent me a prepaid UPS return slip. I returned the defective shoe the same day and am enjoying the replacement shoe. I will buy from them again not just for this reason but also because they have the most variety and the 'wide' toe shoe that I wear.

They could use some more ventilation on full-sun days. I really like these shoes, though. They don't feel right for any running sports, but feel great backpacking around town. These shoes feel really good all around, and I consider myself to have problem feet.

I really like my merrell Phoenix ventilator. They're light on the feet and yet Merrell, for me, has always been very durable. Plus, Zappos customer service is the best I've ever come across.
