These were my first pair of Sorel's so I can't compare size much to other styles. In the past this brand has been so clunky and Croc-like on the bottom I couldn't bring myself to buy but these were so sleek and pretty I decided to give it a try. They are kind of a strange height. I am 5'4" and they stop right at the widest part of my already wide calves; making them look even wider. The laces are flimsy which is an easy fix but for the cost of snow boots with nary a real fur or shearling in sight I expect perfection. Speaking of the lack of fur; this was exactly what I was looking for, but I expected some sort of compensation in the insulation department. These felt like rain boots in the footbed which for a Boston pedestrian just will not do. So I bid adieu to these lovely boots. Maybe next year Sorel will get it right.

I got these boots just last winter. Today the leather strap on the bottom broke on one side, and the other side broke soon after as I was checking it out to see if I could snap the broken one back in place. It was not unsnapped. It just broke. These are expensive boots and I am really disappointed that in the beginning of its second winter they are pretty much junk already. Not only have the bottom straps broken, but also the cute wooden looking heel looks really junky now. The wood grain appearance is just a thin cardboardy layer that apparently chips off after too much moisture. Considering that the toe is made of rubber, I would hope the heel would be ok in moisture rich conditions too. The worst part is that when the wood paper chips off white plastic is revealed. They could have at least made the plastic underneath black or brown so it would not be such an eyesore. So, yes, these are very cute boots, but with any regular wear do not expect them to stay cute for very long.

I just recently moved to Boston so I figured it was high time that I purchased a pair of snow boots. I am not the type to wear frumpy things so when I saw that Sorel, a company known for well made waterproof shoes, made boots this cute I was ecstatic. I was only a little concerned with the price. However, I can fully say they were worth every penny! I have been stomping through puddles and slush and my toes have stayed warm and dry. They are not lined for warmth on the inside, however there is room for socks (I got size 7's which can sometimes be snug on me, but these boots have plenty of room). The lack of lining is better for me personally because I can wear them on a mild winter day when it is wet out and not have my feet sweltering. Also, they're totally adorable. I wear them with dresses, leggings and jeans; they work with everything. The only con I have is getting them on and off can be a hassle since there is no zipper, however once you get used to it and loosen the lacing they slide on pretty easily, and the boot's many pros make up for this one fault.

I love these! I have no idea why people think they are snow boots. They are dressier winter boots. Somewhere between my Fryes and actual snow boots. If you live somewhere cold, you need something like these for sloppy but not overly snowy days. When it is cold here but there's no snow I feel sort of dumb wearing furry boots. If you are looking for fur, or shearling, or boots for the snow, these are not them. Sorel makes plenty of other boots that fit that bill! But I love these. They are great with leggings, or jeans. They are flattering and eye catching and comfortable. I love that they riff on pac boots without being one. I love them. They are gorgeous. If you are looking for something without fur (finally), that looks good, is easy to wear, and can get you through slush and chilly days, these are them.

Favorite boots ever. I would say they are a delightful mix between snow boots and rain boots. Even when it's super cold, as long as I wear thick socks, my feet are warm enough. I haven't had any problems with the traction (as a Boston pedestrian) and, when we just got 28" of snow, my jeans and feet stayed dry inside the boots. And they look super cool, unlike every other pair of snow boots.

I was completely wowed by these boots when I first bought them. They are impressively stylish for a winter boot and they were comfortable to walk in even with a little bit of heel. I coughed up the money to purchase these no problem. However, after just one month of normal wear in rainy Oregon winters, they looked completely abused. The very thin veneer on the heel is not at all tolerant to wet conditions. It started peeling off very soon and revealing a not so attractive white plastic heel. Then the decorative strap that wraps under the sole of the boot broke off at the snap. There was no way to repair it, so it just had to be cut off. Now they are kind of an embarrassing mess and for the money a huge disappointment in the quality department. I actually wrote to Sorel asking for money back. So buyer beware. There are a lot of 5 star reviews on these and if I had written mine in the first week, I would have given them 5 stars too because they look and feel great. But six weeks later, it feels like money thrown out the window.

These boots are a tad on the pricey side, but they are comfortable and they will definitely be keeping my feet warm. I am a very skeptical person about purchasing shoes online, but I live in Joplin MO and no stores around here sell Sorels period. So I took the chance on these knowing I could send them back if they were uncomfortable or didn't fit right. When I was reading reviews I noticed that several people commented about the back of the boot rubbing weird on the customer's ankle leading to discomfort, but I am not experiencing any discomfort other than the usual new-boot feel that will go away after breaking them in. The rubber that covers the toe of the boot is not a thick rubber, but the boots are insulated. These boots are warm and sexy! I normally wear a size 10 in women's tennis shoes and I purchased a size 9 Sorel Conquest Carly. They fit perfectly, plus I can wear a pair of thicker tall socks. I am ready for snow.

This is my 2nd pair of Conquest Carly's. I wore the first pair to death and had no hesitation ordering this style again. They still run small by at least a half size and if you had to go up a full size, you'd still be OK with a thicker sock since the shoe part of the part fits snug all around. They also made a much needed improvement on these boots since the first year they came out. They heel used to be a wood veneer, which would quickly start to peel off in wet weather. Now the heel is a durable hard rubber. These are really stylish boots for everyday and get many compliments! Be aware that the "shoe" part of the camo colored boot is not black like it appears in the picture. It is brown, like the surrounding leather.

I almost didn't get this boots because of the mixed reviews that people wrote. I must say that this boots is very cute, warm and it did more that it's written. It is waterproof and insulated on the inside. But if you want extra warmth especially in the chicago harsh winter, you should layer it with some wool socks/hiking socks. I am usually a size 7.5 but ordered an 8 so I can snug some extra socks in. I would be very happy if this comes in more color though. I also wanted to point out how picky some people are who wrote reviews. It made future buyer very confuse about their decision. I agree that this boots has so many strings that it's somehow hard to take off. But come on guys, i doesn't take more than 3 mins to put on and it definitely takes less time to take off. Keep up the good work Sorel!

I cannot say enough about Zappos' customer service. I had such a difficult time deciding between these boots and another, but with the way in which they do exchanges it made my decision painless. Unfortunately, once I had decided on these boots I wore them once and the strap that wraps around the bottom broke. I called Zappos and was really disappointed but again with the customer service they had a new pair in my hands the next day. I am very happy with these boots no sign of the straps breaking again. They are true to size although I may recommend going a bit bigger so that you can wear thick socks. Not the warmest unless you have comfy socks on. I have gotten so many compliments including random people I don't even know. Am so happy with this shopping experience and my boots! You guys at Zappos are the best!

These are stylish and are totally getting me through the Chicago winter! I normally wear an 8 and I bought an 8 because these don't have the super-wide bottoms other Sorel boots have. I probably could have gone down to a 7.5, but by tightening the laces and wearing thick socks, my foot doesn't slide around.

Love these boots! But I have to disagree with many of the reviewers on the sizing. I ordered my true size 7 based on reviews. Yes, they fit, but barely. Even with thin socks my big toes were hitting the end of the boot. I should have known since they looked tiny right out of the box. I exchanged for a 7.5 and thin socks work well, but thick socks are still a little tight. I like the lacing since I have skinny calves. They are comfortable to wear to work all day. One complaint is the fake wood heel is chipping off after one week of wear. This really makes the boot look cheap (which it is not).

When I first got my Conquest Carly boots, I was in love! They were a little big so I put in a sherpa insert (this also helped because they are unlined and not all that warm for such wintery boots). I wore them everywhere! But I have recently become very disappointed in them. First one of the grommets that held on the under the sole strap broke, and then a few months later the one on the other boot also broke. (The first was my fault for snagging it, the second just happened while walking.) For boots at this price, this is completely unacceptable. And recently I noticed the wood-look veneer on the heel has started to crack and break off on both feet. I've only had these boots for a year, and I didn't wear them for 8 months of that while I was trying to figure out how to fix the broken grommet. Lastly, the soles are very slippery on wet or icy surfaces. The boots are very cute and pretty comfortable (although heavy). I was just very disappointed in the quality for such an expensive shoe.

I really liked these boots. Not actually dressy but would look nice with a dress, really cute. I had ordered the black. The size I normally order is 9.5, but I ordered a 10 and although they weren't uncomfortable my toes did touch the front and I only had a regular sock on. I have Reynard and it's very important that my feet start out warm and stay warm. These weren't rated as a low temp so with the foot feeling thin I wore them in the house for several hours and felt I should be sensible although they even made my foot look small, and go for a pair with ratings. If the insulation isn't an issue for you go for it they are very cute.

Great boot for slushy weather. I normally wear a 7.5 and rarely a 8 in a sports shoe. These boots I had to order in 8.5. I have a narrow foot and the 8 felt good but my toes touched just a bit. The 8.5 is pretty wide now for me, but I put some insoles into them and with some thick socks it works just fine. The look is great and they hug my slim calves. I hope I won't have the problems with the heel and straps as some others mentioned. I didn't give it a 5 for comfort, because they are a little wide now and also you can feel the seem on the back of the heel, where the rubber meets the leather. Not a big deal though. Hope they last and are worth their money!

I fell in love with these boots awhile back and couldn't bring myself to buy them. Finally did around Christmas and my normal Sorel size was too small. I ended up returning for a full size larger. The construction of the boot rubs on your heel and pushes your foot forward into the toe box which made them feel too small in my normal size. They fit great in the larger size though!

Sorel and Frye are my go to - expensive but I wear boots every day for work. Worth the quality.

I love these boots! They are lightweight but very sturdy. And they look great, everyone that sees them loved them... One caveat, they run really small! I usually wear a 9.5 and in these I wear a 10.5.

I love these boots so cute. They are not super warm. I usually wear between an 8.5 and 9, I had to send back the 9 and go for 8.5. I love Zappos, the best.

Love them. Bought black and want the brown! I had to buy a half size up. Normally I always wear 8.5. Had to send them back for a size 9. Zappos customer service is fantastic. These boots are great for wet slushy snow. Need warm socks to expect a boot for really cold weather. Love them. Happy I bought them!

I would have loved these boots if only I could get my foot in them! I have a very high arch and my foot won't slide in. If the boots had a side zip I'd be wearing them!

Love this boot! I'm a true 7.5 with a very narrow foot and thought ordering a half size up would be too wide. I was wrong, I needed and 8 and it fits great. Great color and style. Love!

I am so in love with these boots! Super comfortable while looking so stylish. My main motivation in purchasing them was their look. But they have been functional also. Wore them in two feet of snow when up in the mountains and they were totally rugged, held up through the abuse, and still look great. I purchased them in a half size bigger so I can wear thick warm socks since there's no lining/warmth in the boot. I get compliments on them every time I wear them.

These boots are great, we went to Colorado for vacation and the temperature was below zero each day. Not only were my feet comfy but warm and dry as well. I got the first pair of boots and they felt a little snug, I called customer service and was immediately sent a new pair, with a free return sticker for my other pair. It was so easy. I recommend Zappos for online shopping and the boot for comfort and style.
