I have owned at least eight pairs of Ecco Track plain toe shoes (Track 4 and 5) in the past eight years. They have all been very comfortable out of the box without any break-in required. They have all been very durable, even with very rough treatment in the field and on hiking trails, without any seam rips or delamination at all. I am greatly disappointed with the comfort of Track 6. They are not comfortable out of the box as with Track 4 and 5. The soles are much stiffer and the heel area rubs (guaranteed blisters) when walking. They look durable and nicely designed. They just are not comfortable. They are not recommended. Thumbs down to Ecco design for ruining what was once an excellent product.

I've worn Ecco Track II Low's for many years and have always loved them. They are my go-to shoe on most days. I have always worn size 45 and the fit has been perfect every time - in the Track II Lows and several other pairs of Ecco shoes. I was excited by the new, cleaner design of the Track 6 GTX Plain Toe Tie and decided to order a pair. As usual, I ordered size 45. In typical Zappos super-service, the shoes arrived in under 3 days with free, standard shipping (you guys are the best!). My first impression on opening the box was an immediate appreciation for the top quality of the shoes. Ecco really does make a very high quality shoe - in both materials and workmanship. I give them an A+ for that. Upon putting the shoes on, I noticed right away that this shoe has more width room in the toe box than the Track II Lows do. That was a nice surprise. Sadly, the other thing that I noticed as soon as I began to walk was the fact that both of my heels were slipping and moving around inside of the shoe, and doing so rather badly. The shoes were a perfect fit in every way, yet both of my heels were slipping badly. Heel slippage is normally an indication of the overall shoe length being too long and a half, or even full size down would solve the issue. Not in this case, I'm afraid. I could tell that the shoe length and overall size was correct and moving to a smaller size wouldn't work - they would be too small for certain. Unfortunately, this appears to be a poor design which is shocking, coming from Ecco. The rest of the shoe is fantastic but the design of the heel area of the shoe is a big problem. I'm sad to have to return these.

There is another review on this site that exactly matches my impression of the new Track 6. I have worn Track shoes for many years now and they were comfortable right out of the box. The new shoe is not comfortable - the toe box is too wide and the area around the ankle is also too loose and does not firmly hold the foot in the shoe. I believe that former Track patrons will be totally disappointed.

I've had at least three pairs of these in previous versions and they've all been great shoes eventually. Their durability means that their break-in period can be quite painful as my heel will blister. That said, it's only happened twice, and the shoes usually last two years or more. Keep in mind that they are my main pair of shoes, I walk to work (about a mile away) almost every day, I am on my feet in a machine shop all day, and I wear these on the weekend, too. They are very comfortable and supportive. Any difficulty during break in is made trivial by how long they last and how comfortable they are. I've never owned a better pair of shoes.

Possibly the only pair of shoes you'll ever need. They're not fashionable. They're not unfashionable. They transcend fashion. They are so amazingly comfortable and well made that you will probably get sick of them long before you wear them out. If our so-called president brings on the apocalypse, and the survivors are set to wandering the earth, these are the shoes I'll be wearing.

The shoes are great looking and well-made. I have two other pairs in different colors and sizes. I only tried on the right shoe because when I removed the left shoe from the box, the toe was scuffed.

My husband has worn these shoes in black and the other brown for years. They are the only shoes he wears for work. They fit well and hold up on rugged job sites. We like this lighter brown so well, I'm ordering another pair!

I had an Ecco Track 5 shoe that I wore for approximately 3 years in harsh environments. I bought now the Track 6 and I must say that I just love it. The fit is perfect it is light and comfortable from the second I put this on! Highly recommended.

These shoes fit my needs very well. I'm pleased they have a Gore-Tex lining and lug soles. The soles are stiff, and that contributes to some early heel-slipping, but I've found that to diminish quickly during break-in. I've gotten two pairs, one brown with the stitched toe, one black plain toe, to wear for work where we dress in chinos, shirt and tie. I've not had either pair long enough to comment on the quality of construction except to say that they appear well made, including the stitching, the insoles, soles and welt. The proof will be if they are truly water-proof, as I've come to expect with quality Gore-Tex products, and if they maintain their shape. (Look at cheap shoes, and you'll note that the heel counter and sides lack "shape"...and that only gets worse with wear.) I have a wide forefoot, so find the toe box to be just to my liking, leaving enough room for my feet to swell some as the day wears on. Overall, I'm very happy with the shoes...and will be watching closely as I wear them longer.

These look even better on your feet. I walk up to 12 miles a day at my job. So far (one month) the support is super. And I can clean them up and look my managerial best with chinos even though I've been using them like a full-fledged workboot.

I've worn Ecco shoes for years, both hikers and low cuts. I wear low cuts exclusively for everyday wear. The Track 6 GTX is an excellent shoe.

I am a long time fan of Ecco products. I find them very comfortable and durable. These are no exception. I went to four different stores (three national chains) trying to find these, but was only able to locate one pair at a store specializing in walking shoes - unfortunately one size too small. I was erroneously told this shoe was no longer being manufactured by the store manager. My wife has been a long time fan of Zappos.com, so I decided to check what might be available thru its website. I was delighted to find the exact pair of shoes I was seeking and in my size! Very happy with the selection.

These were a gift for my 30ish son. He liked them - they were comfortable and stylish enough for him. Good traction on bottom for New England.

Amazing shoes! I wanted a pair of more durable, everyday shoes that I could wear out to dinner with jeans and these were perfect. I brought them with on a trip to Las Vegas and there really was no break-in period needed at all. Was able to walk up and down the strip for hours without a problem. Excellent comfort. I also have 3 pairs of Ecco's golf shoes and a pair of dress shoes. Ecco knows comfort!

Great shoes for work or leisure. I buy a pair every year not because they've worn out but because I like them so much.

I've been wearing these for three weeks now. I do not want to take them off. I stand much of the time when I am working. At the end of the day, my feet are not an issue when I've worn these ECCOs. This is a wonderful shoe. And they live on and on because when the soles are gone, they get replaced. And the tops, which are already broken in remain and feel fabulous. You will be happy with this shoe.

I bought these shoes on sale in Kuwait, Since I always get one size larger, I got the size 44 and wore it with my regular socks, it was quite painful on my toes, tried to return them but they would not take it back, so I bought the size 43 and that fitted a little tight but no excruciating pain on the toes. I ended up with two Ecco's. Having no choice, I decided to give it another shot and this time I tried it with thicker socks, after fifteen minutes with them, it became the most comfortable shoe, amazing feel on the feet, the feets breathes easily, make me wanna keep walking the whole day if not for the hot weather of Kuwait. So now it's thick socks with size 44 and thin socks with 43 and both are awesome.

This is a serious shoe. Heavy, extremely sturdy, tough and confidence inspiring. However, if you are looking for a lightweight shoe, this isn't for you. It is very well made, and made for serious walking or work

The only shoe my husband wants for work. He wore the track 2 with the stitched toe for 7 years rotating in other pairs as they came and went. These are their replacements. They are a little stiff breaking in but he's still happy and says they feel great on his feet.

I've been looking for a solid pair of boots to wear when I take my dog to the park early in the morning, and these are it! I have several pairs of ECCO dress shoes in size 45 EU, and the size 45 in these boots fit like a glove. They are a bit heavy, but that gives them a substantial feel that makes me okay with the amount I spent on them (ha). The fact that they are waterproof is awesome, and since they are a low boot I can wear them to work or out to dinner and my feet don't burn up. My highest recommendation!

I like the looks of these shoes online, but they are just too wide in the toe box for my feet. I do have narrow feet so I would not claim to have average feet. I would recommend ordering one size smaller than you would normally wear. I normally wear a 44 and the 43 fit better than the 44 but was still too wide. Personally I love my Track Vs and hope Ecco goes back to that style or very similar next year.

Was looking for a city shoe that could dress up, walk all day, ride a bike, not get wet, not slip, and last forever. So far this shoe is doing it all well. I do find that I want a good thick sock on when I do more walking.

My first pair of Ecco. I like a casual shoe that I can wear for travel and are stylish enough to wear to work. My last pair were Rockport Hydroshields. I walked 3 weeks in Europe in them and wore them to work almost daily for a year and a half without issues. These Ecco's are wide for the size and the shoestrings are of a material that works loose after a couple hours of walking. I'm therefore retying my shoes several times a day to keep them from slipping. In addition, when looking down at the shoe the white lining shows through the stitch just below the bottom string eye.
