Love the style and look of this shoe, which I'd wear walking around town in jeans or with skirts and dresses. Super versatile, classic style with just a hint of edge to them. One of the heels is defective on the pair I received (it's not aligned with the rest of the heel, oddly). While I await a replacement, here are some thoughts: (1) They are snug. I have regular to narrow width feet and a narrow heel, and it was a bit of a squeeze to get my larger foot in the shoe. The upside is that these hug your ankles, which makes them especially attractive with skirts/leggings, unlike most booties. People with wider feet and high arches are not going to get into these shoes, and orthotics don't fit well in these shoes for the same reason, which is unfortunate, because the foot bed isn't terribly cushioned; (2) they seem to be long despite this (extra room from toes to front of shoe), and I'm concerned that the next size up with would make these look like clown or elf shoes, (3) the charcoal color is amazing; there is some color variation, but it looks good, (4) The leather sole and heel, while lovely, were quite slippery around the house.

The boots are beautiful, the grey leather is a nice color and so soft, however they must be returned. I am a size 8, and ordered this, but these are definitely not a medium width. The length for an 8 is even long, but manageable. The width from the heel through the top of the foot is way too narrow for any sort of comfort. Sizing up would just make the shoe too long. For the price, I really can't take the chance that they may loosen up when wearing, as they are just too narrow. Not sure really who are able to weat these boots. Its unfortunate as I would have loved to keep them.

This is hands-down the best go-to boot for everyday wear. Works with jeans, works with opaques and casual dresses. I have heard that Frye is discontinuing this style--my daughter bought a spare back-up just in case that rumor is true! A fantastic investment you won't regret.

The boots are comfy...a little stiff...just did not like the way the front toe rises..also, very strange this happened. I received these in a brown square shipping box. No Frye box, no paper...just the boots thrown in a box delivered!

I'm completely in love with these boots. I've spent many months searching for a quality chelsea boot with a tall ankle shaft, and this one does not disappoint. It was tight on the arches at first, but about a week of wear broke them in, and now they're super comfortable (although I can't wear them with thick socks). I ordered my normal size (9), and there's more than enough room in the toe. I think some of the reviews that said they ran small were before the redesign of the boot a couple years ago. I recommend getting your normal size. Arch support is about average for a sturdy chelsea boot; not totally flat, but certainly not orthopedic. They're a little difficult to get on, but that's the price you pay for an elegant, slim ankle opening.

I bought these in my regular size. They are extremely hard to get on. I had them stretched and they were perfect They are a beautiful boot. I bought a second pair and I had them stretched also. The second pair was harder to stretch, luckily the cobbler only charges once. They are snug around the ankle, so they look great with a skinny jean as well as leggings and dresses.

We all know Frye makes the BEST boots and they last forever [almost]. These boots are no exception. However, they did run small so I recommend purchasing at least a 1/2 size bigger than usual. It's still a tight squeeze for the top of my foot, but I'm sure they'll break in soon. These are gorgeous boots with great quality leather.

Like most people who reviewed this boot, the first time I pulled them on they were incredibly hard to get on because of how narrow they are. That's not necessarily a bad thing for me, I have narrow feet. But slowly they get easier to pull on. But ohhhhh they're beautiful! They are perfectly slim, the cognac color I bought is gorgeous, the shape is just perfection. I get so many compliments on them. My favorite fall boot!

I love these boots! Great profile, the height of the shaft makes them unique from other Chelsea boots out there and give an edgy look. No doubt about it you need 1/2 size bigger than your regular fit. Enjoy. Gotta love Fryes!

These are great and gorgeous boots! Wore them for a 12 hour shift on my feet all day the first day I got them with no problem. Fit is true to size (I wear a 9). I own several pairs of Frye boots and shoes and these might just be my favorite yet. Hope they last as long as all my other pairs. I will be wearing these a lot this fall.

These boots (in black) arrived the day before my trip from SF Bay Area to cold and rainy Baltimore in early December and I dared to: wear them for my flight (they slipped on and off my feet in the security line with no problem), rely on them for my entire four-day conference stay and after-conference activities. It's a month later and if I could sleep in them I would!I love these boots and wear them whenever they match my outfit!First - every shoe has to hurt my feet (different shoe different place where they find to hurt me), it is the rule. These have been comfortable, stylish with skinny pants(receiving many compliments on them, mostly from gay men but also from my cobbler!) They were extremely slippery on hotel marble floors in rainy Baltimore, but since then I've resoled them and they are great. I have Frye Carson Oxfords size 6.5 and after reading reviews here I ordered Chelsie in size 7 and they fit me well with room for thicker socks, if I need them. I don't have very narrow feet or ankles - I am probably on the average side. Great boots - you'll love them, too.

This is a great boot, so comfy and stylish! I am usually a size 7, but as is usually the case when I buy boots, I went with the 7.5. The 7 was way too narrow, but the 7.5 does feel a bit long. I'm not sure if its simply because of the style of the boot, but I'm hoping with time I'll just get used to it, because damn it is a gorgeous boot. The one other thing I wasn't thrilled with is the bottoms are a bit slippery, but again, I'm hoping with time I'll break them in a bit and get used to it.

I was worried about spending this much on boots without trying them on, but because they are Fyres I took a chance. Amazing! Like others have said, go a half size up. I am a solid 7.5 and got an 8 in these. They were pretty tight and difficult to get my foot into until about the 5th on/off. Now they feel like they were made for my feet. I still can't wear really thick socks, but that's okay. You may need to go a whole size up if you'd like to wear really warm socks. That's not an issue for me and I'm looking forward to wearing these for a long time.

I love these boots! Usually an 8 but got an 8.5 and it's perfect. The 8 was a little too snug and I couldn't wear them without really thin socks. Can't wait to wear them in!

Based on the reviews, I ordered an 8.5 and should have ordered my correct size of an 8. I have a medium width foot and had NO trouble with the boot being too narrow. The 8's felt awesome.

These boots are excellent "go to" boots with casual jeans, leggings, etc. Comfortable from the first moment I wore them -- no break in needed! The elastic gores make putting on/taking off very easy. Overall the boot has a nice contoured look around the ankle and the grey is a very cool color. Oh and once again -- so comfortable!

Great looking, timeless classic American style, very well-made boots. Love them! They felt quite narrow when I put them on initially, but they seem to stretch out just as soon as I started walking on them, and I've been wearing them practically every day since I received them. I know Frye boots run a little large, so I ordered a half size down, 5.5, the smallest size available, I had no choice, but they fit perfect and I'm extremely happy with these gorgeous boots and Zappos.

I love these boots! They look great with bootcut jeans! I ordered the brown and from the photo was expecting them to be a shiny leather which they are not and the heel is also smaller than it looks in the photo as well. I'm a pretty standard 7 1/2 and have a narrow foot and they fit fine, I would not recommend if you have a wide foot. They are comfy and have gotten a lot of compliments, would definitely recommend!

Love these! They look great under boot-cut jeans. They're pretty comfortable, too, even though they are very new. The arch support & ball of foot cushioning could be better - I'm hoping there's room for an insole.

I love Frye boots, so I did not hesitate to order these! The color is a nice balance of grey and black and goes with everything. I ordered 3 other pairs similar to the Carson Chelsea but chose these due to the way it hugged my ankle. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful, classic shoes. Would have loved if the toe area were more elongated, but beautiful as is. Workmanship is awesome. Tad tight at first. Orn this a few times already, still snug fitting. But am positive it'll loosen nd stretch with time. Great color, leather is top notch. A very good buy overall.

Great looking boot runs big thought. I usually wear 8 in Fryes but have to change to 7.5 in these. Grey color is beatiful!!

These boots are a little hard to break in. I'd say it took me about a week and then some to break them in. At first, they felt pretty narrow and were hard to put on and take off. I'm usually a size 8, but I ordered 8.5 for these boots, and I'm very glad I did. After breaking them in, they were MUCH more comfortable and easier to walk in. Not to mention the great 'Beatle boot' style. I'm glad I stuck with them! The only problem I still have is the fact that the sole tends to be a little slippery.

Absolutely adore these boots. A little smaller and very much narrower than I expected but once I was able to get them on they were actually very comfortable. Luckily I'd ordered a 1/2 size up.

I absolutely love the style of the shoe. It is classic and timeless and they look great with stockings and dresses or jeans. I will say though that they fit really tight. I have a skinny long narrow foot and I could barely get them on at first. Length wise the shoe fits but around my foot it feels so snug. There starting to loosen up a little after wearing them a couple of times. I would say size up at least a half size, if not a whole size. I wouldn't recommended these for wide feet.
