These are racing flats, which means the lightweight is at the price of minimal protonation control. If you are a very neutral runner, these would be great for you. But if you need support (as the 1-star review Coleen stated) these are a bad choice. I would advice not to buy according to brand, but to buy according to running shoe type (neutral, support, extra support). Some shoes that would be in the same category as these (racing flats): Adidas adizero Adios, Nike lunaracer, Mizuno Ronin If you are a neutral runner and want just a tiny bit of support: Mizuno Wave Rider, Mizuno Wave Precision (both really comfortable!). I don't need a whole lot of support, so I can't advice on support shoes. If you're buying running shoes for the purpose of running, it's better to go to a running specialty store so they can see your running style and recommend shoes accordingly. They will allow you to run in them so you get a feel. Otherwise, buying running shoes blindly is a waste of time/money--especially when you can't return them! Hope this helps!
I'd also recommend:
Adidas Adizero Adios & Nike Lunaracer (narrow midfoot region though)

Changes since the Kinvara 2: the lacing system is different and the 3 has a softer feel to the insole, the toe box feels a bit higher but not wider on me. The outer bands protect the mesh exterior better than the Kinvara 2, as the thin mesh tends to get caught and tear with wear, I think the new bands will help solve that. I did prefer the old lacing method. I do not like the colored laces prefer the white ones. I wear a street size 7 and have to go up a full size and 1/2 with this shoe, which is the same as the Kinvara 2 I own.

I am not an athlete. I bought these shoes because the color was completely kick-ass and I fell in love on sight. I put them on and it was truly nirvana. They are soooo lightweight, fit like a glove, awesome support and cushioning and all day long people ask about my shoes. They are AWeSOMe! I'm on Zappos to buy another pair in a different color. Sizing is off, though. Even a shoe salesperson I know told me this runs at least a 1/2 size to full size small.

I've bought Saucony for years for running. I ended up returning these to Zappos, because the running support on these shoes were terrible. My feet ached after running and 1 month into wearing these the back started making a popping sound. I would try a different Pro Grid more designed for running than the Kinvara.

My daughter made the transition from Kinvara 2 to Kinvara 3 with no problem. She goes through 4 pairs per year. She liked the Kinvara 2 colors better.

Super light weight, solid construction. Vibrant colors true to the pictures. I don't think I've ever put on a new pair of shoes and thought, comfy! There has always been a breaking in period. Until these shoes. No lie, they fit comfortably from the start. They flex well with my foot and have the perfect amount of traction for cardio. I haven't had them long so I can't say how they'll hold up long term, but the quality of the shoe is promising.

Yes, these shoes are bright and obnoxious (in the best way). If this is your style, order them now! They are even more bold and rich and wonderful in person. I get comments nonstop about them. They are perfect. Aside from being adorable, they are so comfortable and supportive. They have become my every day shoes.

Great running shoe. Used to be a tried and true Kinvara 2 wearer, and the Kinvara 3 is just as great. (Ran a marathon in mine a few weeks ago!) Works great with custom orthotics too.

I walk for fitness and had been having problems with numb toes and a bunion. I read that walkers should use a soft, flexible shoe without an elevated heel. I decided to give these a try, and I'm glad I did. They are incredibly lightweight, have roomy toe boxes, are super flexible and great support. These are funky gorgeous, and always receive compliments.

I have had several pairs of the Kinvara 1&2's and loved them so I didn't think twice about ordering the 3's. On my maiden run they gave me blisters on my heel, the back of the shoe comes up about a half inch higher than previous versions. The mesh on the sides does seem improved and hopefully won't rip out like all of my other Kinvaras did. After the blisters healed, I have been able to break in the 3's, making sure my socks are pulled up high in the back. I hope they fix the heel problem or I will have to switch brands.

I have the same shoes but they are pink and black with a gradient a effect. These are the most comfortable athletic shoe I've worn in a very long time. The only thing I would change is that they toe is made of plastic and it has already started to chip. Other than that this is an excellent shoe. My feet are happy. I have high arches and my feet are frequently unhappy and really hurt my feet in a lot of shoes, but not these.

This is my 2nd pair of Kinvara 3 running shoes. I use them for running on the road and treadmill. Nice lightweight shoe. The only complaint is that they don't last as long as some of my other running shoes. I have a narrow foot and a high arch. Like with all running shoes I have to pull the laces tight. Not much arch support, but I like how the shoe does not throw you forward, it allows you to have a natural foot strike.

These are very comfortable and look great whenever I wear them! After reading reviews I did go 1/2 size up, and I am pleased with the fit.

These shoes are very comfortable and have a good amount of support. They are very snazzy and cute as well. I had a foot surgery a few years ago and they accommodate all my foot weirdness.

Very happy with my Kinvara 3's. This is my second pair. They do seem to run a bit smaller than the Kinvara 2. I would recommend going a half size up. The outside seems a little more "plasticy"/less meshy than the Kinvara 2 which makes putting them on a little harder but the half size up helped with that! I use these to run and for high impact gym classes (step, kickboxing). They are the only ones I found that didn't make my arches scream in discomfort! They are very light and flexible. Love them!

I've become a big Saucony fan recently. I love to have something different than everyone else, and their color combinations are always unique. I don't run in these, just wear them to kick around - always comfortable and never clunky, like some athletic shoes.

I have this sneaker in four colors. I use it for metabolic bootcamp (i.e. cross fit) classes which include high intensity interval training with jumps, weight lifting, etc. I do not use these for running - I have another pair of Saucony's for that. I find these shoes to be extremely light, breathable, and versatile. They have good lateral support and I am always comfortable in them. I chose to buy these shoes over and over again because, since having bunion surgery a year ago, when I find an athletic shoe that works, I stick with it. These are THE BEST!

I love this shoe. I ditched my Asics Kayano's and my orthotics and went to this shoe and love it. All my aches and pains disappeared. I also run in the newer 0 mm drop by Saucony and love it as well. And you can't go wrong with Zappos!

These shoes are a great color and are very lightweight. I love that they come in a 10.5. I have never been able to figure out why most shoe manufacturers do not carry 10.5. 10's are a bit snug and 11's flop off my feet.

Loving my new Kinvara 3's. I decided to go lighter weight with these than my previous Sauconys, and so far am totally pleased. I honestly ran faster my first time out with them (totally scientific) I run with Superfeet in my running shoes, and they went in perfectly to the K3s. In fact, they lifted my heel just enough so that I'm not bothered by the higher back on my Achilles like other reviewers have mentioned. Totally pleased with the shoes and will probably buy another pair to have for backup.

Ordered them at noon on Monday and got them less than 24 hours later. These are more than a running flat and they are totally in between a normal running sneaker and a running flat. They are GREAT if you have orthotics and they are very high in the back and great for someone with a high arch. I will be using them for Crossfit and can't wait to go in the morning o try them out! They are very true to size.

I just got the shoes earlier in the mail today, I love them! The color is so cool and they are very comfortable! I always wear Asics Kayano. This shoe gives the support of the Kayano but without the weight! I am ordering another pair now!
