I wanted to love this coat but ended up sadly returning it. I bought a medium (I am 5'7"/128lbs) and the fit was a little big - I wanted it that way since I thought I'd likely wear winter sweaters underneath. The problem for me ended up being both the inside of the sleeves (fleece, which made everything bunch up when I'd put it on) and the overall style (a little frumpy). It just felt/looked bulky overall and my husband, who loves everything Patagonia and bought this for me, agreed. I think it would look cute with boots, skinny jeans and a long sleeve tee, but that is about it. And for me it was too expensive a jacket (and not warm enough) to justify keeping it only to wear on occasion. Oh and I got the Oatmeal which was a lovely, neutral color.

The coat itself is incredible. I'm a longtime Patagonia obsessed fan, and this coat delivers. It's very similar to the Prana Sylvie jacket (which I have 4 of) but much more luxurious with the quality of fabric and much thicker. The Sylvie is a thin sweatshirt material, and this is more of a coat-like thickness. It's tailored in a bit more in the hip/bottom area, so it's more streamlined looking than the Sylvie. My boyfriend loves this coat on me. He says it's very classy looking. I love it so much, I have it in every color. It looks amazing with dresses and boots, jeans, leggings and can be dressed up or down. I'm almost always a Patagonia medium, and I have the medium in this jacket. The reason for my 4 overall stars instead of 5, is that I received my black coat today(and I knew it was a return because it was sold out for sometime and one popped up a few days ago so I snatched it up) and when I opened the package, I was surprised that the coat had some hair and other little specs all over it. Also, on the waist piece that goes around the coat on the back, it almost looked like there was a little dried chocolate or something on it. None of this is anything that I can't roll or wash off, but I was a little surprised that Zappos didn't spot this. It was pretty obvious. I've always had amazing service with Zappos, but this was a little less than desirable-especially for a jacket of this price. Other than that, wonderful jacket. Highly recommend.

This sweater runs true to size. It's a great idea, soft and warm fleece in a button down sweater. It has nice big pockets. However, the pleating was too girly for me, I would like it better if it were more streamlined.

loved the styling of the jacket--cute and feminine; but the arms are too fitted. It was tight with no sleeves, would not have worked with anything underneath it. I would love to have it if sleeves would have large enough to wear over a normal sweater

I purchased this coat last winter and loved it. It's all I wanted to wear. I did get a large since I am larger bust and longer arms but the medium would have fit but intended to wear bulkier tops underneath. It's fairly warm but if the wind blows not wind proof but warmer than one would expect. I don't love winter but this cute coat makes it better! Oh, also I did wash it and washed well, put on gentle cycle.

This is exactly what I was looking for...a washable stylish fleece for 40- 60 degree fall/spring days. I have a 3 month old and wanted something that I could throw in the wash in the event of spit ups, and that did not have a zipper that might scratch her face. It's really cute...I wear it with the collar up and have gotten several compliments already. No pilling noted although I've been wearing it only a few weeks. It does attract light colored pet hair, but all black coats do that. If they had my size in the light color, I'd buy a second one! I'm 5'7", 145 lbs and the medium fits great.

Every once in a while you find a piece that was missing from your wardrobe, and as soon as you put it on, you know that you will wear it for years. This is one of those items for me. I was looking for a longer cloth coat for cool days in Los Angeles, something not too dressy but not too casual either. This is it! It's flattering, feminine, warm, soft, and as cozy as a sweatshirt. I got it in the black because it's a bit dressier than the grey, but while they are on sale I may pick it up in that color as well. Super satisfied.

I was looking for a coat that I could wash in the washing machine and not have to dry clean, like my other usual work coats. I am 5'5", 120 and the small fits me perfectly. I can even wear a light sweatshirt underneath. The style is a bit casual but it's nice enough for my work. I want to find another color!

I completely love this coat! It's so comfortable, but still looks nice. I hate being uncomfortable and as females I feel like we give up comfort a lot to look nice..so not the case with this coat. As far as the fit goes, I think it fits true to size. I'm typically a medium in most tops, but have to get a large in coats just because the shoulders/across the back will be too tight with the stiffer wool type materials. I got the large and it fits great (because of the material on this one, I PROBABLY could have gone with the medium). A little big, but the cut is so nice it's still flattering and again, SO DANG COMFY! I don't have the smallest arms - they aren't big or anything, but they aren't twigs like some girls, - and I haven't found the sleeves to be too snug whatsoever. I haven't tried to put it on over a bulky sweater yet either, but I don't anticipate it being a problem. Been looking for a cute/nice/dressy/but comfortable alternative to the typical wool or tweed peacoat and I'm SO glad I checked out Zappos. Cannot say enough good things. Seriously, LOVE!

I absolutely love this sweater coat, it fits perfectly and I always get compliments! I am a size medium and I ordered a small and it fits perfectly. It is really warm and can be dressed up or down.

I do love this sweater coat. It would be nice if the sleeves were lined. The coat is kind of hard to put on over a sweater or anything that is a bit bulky.

Very cute, warm and soft. As comfortable as a sweatshirt. The collar is nice, you can wear it up to keep the wind out. I wish it had been a slightly darker grey because it washes me out a little but I wear a nice cashmere scarf with it for a little color. Love the coat!

I already have two better sweater products and am a big fan. They wash and dry beautifully and look good as new. I fell in love with the style of this new design and had to have it. It didn't disappoint. Although I could have ordered a large and had a more fitted look, I ordered the extra large because I like to wear whatever I want under it, without feeling "stuffed." It drapes very nicely. The coat is stunning either way: with the collar up and buttoned or left open and unbuttoned. I was really torn between gray or black, but finally chose black since I have a tendency to buy coats with a lot of color.

I was not sure I wanted to order this because of the price, but I am very happy I did. It is so soft and comfortable and warm! I can even fit it underneath my long winter coat. The small fits very well even though I usually wear XS in Patagonia. Definitely worth it!

I fell in love with this coat as soon as I opened the box! It is comfortable, fashionable and a great addition to any fall/winter wardrobe. The Dark Walnut is an amazing color that will go with pretty much anything. I myself plan on ordering it in another color; it is definitely worth the price.

This is a comfortable, stylish coat. It is not as warm as I had hoped but I do enjoy wearing it. The sleeves are a little snug. Great with leggings or skinny jeans.

This coat is really cute. It is very soft and actually stylish. The only thing is that it runs really small in the chest area. I wear a size 6 and have a fairly large chest. I needed a large in this coat (which is a size 12-14). I initially ordered the medium and it fit fine around the middle but was very tight across the chest. The large is big around the middle but fits me in the top area. So order a size up if you are busty!

This is a lovely coat, however, I am bummed because it ran a little big and made my rear end bubble out. (It's not THAT big!!) The sleeves were also very long, and then they get that wrinkled look around the wrists from being pushed up. Too bad it will be going back! I'm not sure that a smaller size would fix this. I think this coat would look great on a tall, slender gal. (just like the models I see it on in pictures I guess!) Not for my 5'3" 115 lb. frame.

If this coat had a lining, I could then wear something under it. It's not something I can layer as it does not slide over your clothes underneath. The coat is very warm and beautifully made, the cut and details are great, but I would have to wear it with only my cuddle duds. I bought a large and it just doesn't work.

Very cute - the problem is the sleeves fit like a sweater themselves and so are too bulky / tight over an actual sweater or blazer, etc. Hard to wear over work attire - going back even though it is otherwise adorable.
