I've had several versions of hard shell Samsonite suitcase. I keep coming back to them as my main bag. The only trouble I've ever had has been the wheels breaking down. Other than that these suitcases are perfect.

This is a great, sleek and sturdy bag to begin with, made of quality material. The luggage is secure and is tsa-approved. The luggage itself is light, durable and can withstand impact from airline handling. It is a gift for my bf and he loved it. However, the bag is too large and if taken into a domestic flight, an extra 100 dollars need to be paid. For an international flight, 200. That is why I decided to return it. I adore it too, so much, but I don't want to pay more for the flight.

This luggage is very large, which is great because I pack a lot of things. My 4'11" sister fits inside. THe first time I saw this luggage was at the airport and I fell in love with its vibrant color and design. When I received it, I liked that it came with letter stickers so that you can put your initials on the luggage. I haven't had the chance to use it yet, but I'm excited to take it around. I'm worried about getting charged extra because of its size but I like the design, the locks, the appearance, the mobility of the this particular suitcase.

The actual height + width + depth of this suitcase exceeds the conventional max of 62 inches. It is more like 63 or maybe 64 inches depending on how you measure it.
I carried this on United Air Lines and Southwest Airlines and they did not charge me any oversize fee.

So far so good. I'm able to pack enough for 2 weeks while on the road working This suitcase is very stylish and very mobile easy to handle and easy to maneuver. I Would definitely recommend this to a friend or co-worker.

I had to return this product because it is too large according to new airline regulations. However, it is the perfect design for me. I don't like the other hardside suitcases that open in the middle. They are difficult to work with because of the extra space needed to open the suitcase. This suitcase is more like the older Samsonite Oyster suitcases. I still have 4 of those that have been around the world and are workhorses. Unfortunately, they don't have TSA approved locks and that is sometimes an issue when customs opens the suitcases. I wish Samsonite would make replacement TSA locks for those suitcases (never going to happen I know) or make this suitcase a little smaller to comply with airline regulations.

I owned this product (in black) for about five years. I would never buy this again. It was all scratched up after the first trip I made with it. And that got worse for each time. It is also very heavy! I used to go over the maximum weight almost every time because of this. Also the retractable handle was not in good shape after the first few trips overseas. I used to travel with either this suitcase or my cheap Delsey trolley; and I can tell you that the Delsey held up much longer than the expensive Samsonite spinner. I did travel quite a lot and always overseas, but still... How come the cheaper brand suitcase made it? I did like the look of the Samsonite suitcase and I was able to fit a lot of things in it. But again, the suitcase was so heavy that I could not pack everything that I would have wanted to bring! I guess you could do that if you are okay with paying the overweight fee. I did bring a wedding gown in this suitcase once and that worked out great! The pros with this suitcase is that it is big enough to fit over sized things, like wedding gowns! Plus it looks nice. That is about all that I can think of.

This might be good for occasional travel, but the wheels will not hold up with regular use. I've owned 3 of these and the last one was the LAST one. I had been driving 45 minutes to the nearest Samsonite store to have them repaired. They don't fix them there. They ship them out and the customer has to pay the shipping. Even though it's under warranty. The last time I attempted to have it repaired, the repair shop called me to tell me the wheels are discontinued. So I paid $15 to ship a warrantied item to the garbage. Even if you don't travel a lot. This suitcase should not be for sale when some replacement parts are discontinued.

Samsonite does not carry replacement latches anymore ,even though they still sell these bags. Concept is good however if you want to get more than 10 trips out of these.. good luck!!! If I could purchase replacement latches I would give this 4 stars but after 6 months I have a big piece of non recyclable garbage.

Happy with this, minus the fact that the handle was broken in transit. Basically became bent and couldn't be fixed. Now it's just stuck in a half-open half-closed position, so it's hard to handle.

This product is sized too big to check without getting stuck paying extra baggage fees. Check out the dimensions very carefully if you are planning to check with an airline. If you are putting it in your truck - then that's another story. We recommended to Samsonite to post this warning so others would not get stuck having to return, and pay the shipping charges (almost $200!).

It's incredibly lightweight. I can pack a ton in here and if that was the end of the story I would have rated this much higher. However, I only used it a handful of times and one of the wheel's came off. I give Samsonite kudos, however, for fixing it and returning it within 3 days. Amazing customer service! The bad thing though is a different wheel fell off the first time I used it after getting it fixed. I give up! People seem to love spinners and they do seem great in terms of easy to turn/maneuver, but I'll be hesitant to ever buy another one.
