What the heck?! It's been a couple years since I last bought Levis 505 & 501's - until now. When did they lighter - not the heavy duty weight I have known for so many years. I am a woman and buy the guy's Levis, as they fit me better and made better than the womens. Now these jeans feel as light as the womens! Not cool, Levi's! The fit is fine. For what it's worth, these are made in Bangladesh. Sigh. Wish they'd come back to the USA.

These new 505 jeans are strange, and nothing like 501s or the older 505. They have a knit that is wide and are especially 'soft' fabric, not like traditional 'denim', although thicker than the new skinny jeans. They most resemble the newer 517's, but with straight leg. They fit somewhat strangely, in my opinion. The waist section is shorter, like a low rise while the legs are thighs and legs are wider than 501's. If you normally wear 501's or older 505's, I wouldn't recommend these.
I'd also recommend:
Levi's 501.

Wish you would include jeans with shorter inseams. I have to have my jeans shorten at an extra cost. Now I look for jeans that have the right inseam. Also would like too see permanent press jeans. I,m sure you would see a big increase in sales, just doing these two things. Having American made would really add to sales.

The quality of these jeans have not been what they used to be. The material seems to be thinner and the stitching weaker. Maybe they should start making them in America again. I like doing business with Zappos, but I may shop around for another brand of jeans.

Good pair of jeans at a good price. I bought a pair of Bonobos at the same time and, while the fit and finish of the Bonobos is definitely better, the cost was 3x higher. I'm a pretty trim fellow and in my opinion, these fit better than the same size 501s because there's a little more room in the upper thighs and the waist sits slightly lower. The dark wash is good but you can tell the quality of the wash and jeans is not the best. At less than retail, you won't find a better deal, however.

One of my favorite Levi’s purchases ever. They are a nice dark grey color that goes well with just about any work shirt I can tuck into the pants. I work in a sort of laid back office and these are a great way to get away with wearing comfy jeans that don't look like jeans. Size was perfect and washing them didn't discolor or shrink them if you follow instructions carefully. Best purchase on Zappos so far. Excellent price.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Let's start out by saying that I am a woman wearing men's jeans. I have been wearing Levi's mens jeans for 40 years. I started back in my teens because women's jeans were never long enough for me. The tall sizes were too long and horribly out of style. I spent some years trying to find women's levi's to fit me. the Levi's ladies tall were too short. Now they are replacing the 100% cotton with some stretchiness that bag after a short time. I am back to Levi's mens 505 with the 34" inseam. I checked to make sure the color I ordered was, in fact, 100% cotton. . I am not a curvy gal.. more straight through hips and thighs. These jeans are perfect for me. It helped that they were on sale. It also help that Zappos has the sizes I need and service can't be beat..

Great fit, great look, went out for a sort of fancy evening wearing these and a black T-shirt, black shoes and socks, looked and felt really fine. These also feel rugged enough for outdoor, wear-around and do outdoor type stuff in.

Great jeans at a great price. I'm about 6'2, 165lbs and the 31x34 fit me really well. Just be sure to line dry them so they don't shrink/shorten up on you. Lots of compliments on the Timberwolf color, which pass as business casual pants all day long.

These jeans are comfortable, fit well - according to stated sizes, and match the color stated here. I ordered the Fume and Tumbled Rigid ones, and my only complaint is that the Fume pair transferred to my legs, socks and shoes when I wore them the first time but after washing them, I had no problem. The front pockets are a bit of a tight fit, my phone fits well, with my wallet - that isn't too fat - I have a harder time getting in/out.

These are overall nice jeans. They are slightly tight in the crotch area. My husband preferred the feel of the Docker's jeans better. They are great quality.

These jeans are what I usually wear, these black ones or the regular blue denims. They fit right and wash up great without shrinking.

Size is not right. I have been wearing Levi's 505 for years. I'm a size 34W 29 inseam. I've tried twice to get these jeans from Zappos and both times the jeans I bought have at least two inches of extra inseam. Same style jeans as store bought. And the leg is wider. Returned both times.

Usually love these jeans, size 31x32. This time, the dark stonewash color is cut too small, much smaller than the medium stonewash color, particularly in the seat and thighs. Glad for your free return policy as Levis today seem to be quite variable in fit.

What ever happened to the Levi brand's reputation for quality? These jeans are made of thin, shoddy denim. I'll never buy another pair of Levi's.

Our son loves these Levi's jeans. They are dependably perfect. Fit is very precise, durability is as it always was, color is accurately depicted from the Zappos site, and as always, Zappos Customer Service is, without a doubt, the best of any on-line retailer EVER! Highly recommend!

Always great jeans. It was a bit of a gamble though if we were going to get button or zip fly. Thankfully on the dark blue (tumbled rigid), it was a zip fly, otherwise my husband would not wear it.

I love shopping at Zappos. I have purchased shoes and jeans. The service is just great. Somehow they give customer service a new meaning. Great!

Good value for the price. Inseam length varies with Levis so I get two 32s and keep the longer one.

For the first time ever, the purchase disappointed me so much. This is terrible ..
I have worn "Levi's 505" all my life since childhood and I know this model like myself.
But what I bought now may not be Levi's 505.
By its nature, Levi's 505 should be taller at the waist than Levi's 501 and somewhat narrower at the hip.
This piece of Levi's 505 jeans is all wrong: the waist is lower and wider at the hip than the Levi's 501.
This is nonsense!
And another nuance:
when buying, I carefully studied the description of these "Levi's 505" "Shadow" -
there is not noted that the fabric has elastane. In fact, the fabric of this purchased Levi's 505 "Shadow"
contains a percentage of elastane.
If the canons of the Levi's 505 cut have changed so drastically, I will never buy this model again.
If possible, I would return this example of the jeans.

I have several pairs of these jeans. Although they're all the same size, the fit differs from pair to pair.

They are definitely slimmer cut than the old 505 jeans, but my husband loves them. Bought a pair of 513s last year which he loves, but the ones I bought him this year are too slim in the lower leg. I went back to the 505s. He likes his jeans not baggy, but also, not skin tight. They are the right middle of the road cut.
