These look great. However, there are numerous problems. Although not pictured in the photos, there is supposedly a speed lace locking system; however, mine came with just laces, nothing special as I have seen in many online video reviews. Adidas.com does not show the locking laces now, perhaps they stopped using that this year? (One review on youtube said they would slip loose too easily after a while.) With just these laces you will never get a snug fit. They are thin and stretchy, which means they go loose as soon as you try to make a knot and also burn your fingers from friction if you lace them up a lot, as I did all day trying to force myself to like them. I know people's feet tend to differ in size, usually the left being larger but still, the right just slides off your heal while you walk. The stiff sole is good only if it would tie snugly. As it is it's like wearing flip-flops. I didn't dare wear them to work, fearing blisters and then voiding the ability to return them. I do love the looks and quality of materials, so I will try the Adidas Outdoor Terrex Fast X Mid GTX to see if the extra height of the heel backing and extra lace hole can give me enough grip to keep my heel in place. I tried a thinner liner (the one provided is very thick, elevating my heel up out of the shoe) to no avail. It almost feels good with no liner at all but, no. Shame, because I really love the looks and build quality. Rrview based on: D67027 "445" size 11US purchased in April 2014.

I was not happy with these shoes. While they felt true to size, no matter how tight I tied them it felt as though my heel was slipping out when walking. They look cool, but if you order black or carbon, it is too dark too see all the great details; they just look like any black shoes. Thank you, Zappos, for the great return policy so I can get shoes that I love.

Love these for causal dress, work or everyday. Great fit and orthotic insert. I would love these in brown if they made them. These are my go to shoes every day!

I got these shoes for work, and wear them outdoors 40 hours per week. I LOVE these shoes! Lightweight yet sturdy, great fit, very comfortable.

I bought these for jogging on the grass, the water-proofing and stability due to broke ankle/surgery. Surprise! Got way more than expected! Like my Vasque hiking boots, these Adidas Terrex Fast X have tremendous support all around and reasonably lightweight considering the features this shoe provides. For me, when I first put them on they were tight, and assumed I needed half size (1/2) larger, but chose to walk around inside first before exchanging them. They just got better, I realized the insole was molding to my feet and that was it. I just hope they keep making this shoe in the future, the far future that is, because the tread is a hard composite(unlike my Vasque boots) and will last quite a while. Thanks again Team Zappos, I could gush some more but that's obvious. We love ya, Bigfoot-Littlefoot.

I bought these for my husband because we usually buy cheap Adidas from Kohls and got tired of them falling apart. Yes the price may make you think twice but these are his favorite shoes! He was very impressed with how incredibly comfortable they are. My husband has "feet like fire" as he puts it, so ventilation is extremely important to him--he claims Adidas keeps his feet coolest. I guess I should have bought two pairs because I'll happily pay for his feet to be happy.

I used these on a rim-to-rim Grand Canyon hike and a 4 day backpacking trip in the Sierras. Excellent support, traction, and durability. Did well in the rain, too, although they finally got soaked. I wish they came in a more narrow width.

Great looking and fitting shoe. Get some DC below the ankle black socks to complete the look.

I love the lacing system, super simple and quick. I was worried at first that it wouldn't hold up but I've run/hiked/walked near a 100 miles in these and they have held up. I love the look and the feel. Took me about a day to break them in, simply wore them to work.

Great shoes. I use them as fast hikers. I tried running in them - they were too hard and stiff. I'm not a huge fan of the speed laces, but the fit and construction of the shoe for light hiking is perfect. The toe area is well reinforced and the shape and fit of the shoes is great. Good fit in the heel area and plenty of room for toes.

These are the 4th pair of Adidas "trainer" type shoes I've tried, and all had fit problems of one form or another. Shame, because they look so much cooler than every other brand I've seen. Like several others reviewers have complained, these slipped in the right heel, and had a constricting toe box. Bizarre that a major company would release so many shoes that fit so many people so badly, but I can only guess that they fit others great.

Very good quality shoe. Fits tighter than any other shoe I've purchased from Zappos of same size and width. Don't like the quick close mechanism versus regular laces. Less control.

Bought a pair of these, there was something wrong with the left shoe. Where the seams met inside there was a large bump that dug into my foot. Returned them for a second pair and had the same issue.

There's a lot to like about this shoe. The styling is excellent and the shoe looks as good in person as it does on the website. The quality of the materials used also seems to be first rate from the tongue to the tread. Though relatively light and athletic in its feel, I'd definitely say this shoe is stiffer and more substantial than the typical trail running shoes which are so popular today. I would put it more in the category of a light hiking boot. Unfortunately, one minor manufacturing defect kept me from being able to wear these. The right shoe felt great on my foot. The left shoe, however, created an almost immediate hot spot right where that little bone protrudes from the outside edge of your foot about an inch behind the base of your little toe. Further investigation revealed that the thin upper liner on the interior of the shoe was folded over at that point to match the contour of the upper. That fold and the adhesives used to hold it in place were the culprits. The right shoe didn't have that pronounced of a protrusion and, if anything, my right foot is a hair wider than the left. I even ordered a second pair thinking this was likely a one off defect, but believe it or not, the left shoe of the second pair was exactly the same. Oh well. I can't wear them but feet are so different, it still may be well worth it for you to give a try.

It's a beautiful shoe but narrow around the toe box. Couldn't go a half size larger because it would be too long.

I really wanted to like these. They look great! They have a very hard rubber support on the outside of the shoe at the arch that make these very uncomfortable for me. The 12s were too small. My heel came up on the 13s. They both went back. Too bad...great looking shoe.

I bought those shoes after having had two pairs of Merrells which both suffered the same defect. The glue on the Merrell, on the nose of the show unglued and the leather separated from the rubber sole. That was very disappointing as it happened both times. Anyhow Bough the Adidas Terrex after I had already had an Outdoor AX2 pair which oddly showed defects in the glue that bonds the sole to the upper shell. After the great reviews and the awesome and rugged look. One of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn - maybe the best, honestly. Strong fabric and indestructible shell. The grip is fantastic and have never had a slip no mater of the surface. Until one day I saw a large, about 3" hole, along the right side between the fabric and the rubber sole - right along the edge where the fabric meets the rubber on the front right side. I was crushed. I checked the hole closely and realized that the glue right there simply was not holding well and inner structure was ready to come out. Only after about 30 days of use! The shoes suffered the same faith as my previous Merrells. I hike often and love the outdoors having gone through ice and desert, rocks and grass around the world. Nothing is wrong with my feet. Since then I have been using only Keen hiking shoes and never encountered such a defect again due the way the Keen is made. They are ugly but super strong and ungluing cannot occur due to the design it seems. But again they are very ugly shoes. I am sorry for Adidas as I really liked them!

These are the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever owned. I kept wearing them thinking I would break them in, but after 3 months I just had to stop wearing them. Very disappointed in Adidas!

Potentially great shoe except for apparent production issues with the left shoe in particular. My specific pair had a seriously annoying squeak in the left heel and a 'flat' feeling in the left heel cushioning. Others on adidas.com have complained about this squeak. I also noticed that some reviewers have complained of a protruding nub inside the left shoe that caused irritation, although my pair didn't have this problem. I'm sad to return this show as it feels extremely well built, has great support, and looks great. I'm on the fence about getting a replacement pair based upon the apparent quality control issues.

After 6 months with some trail running, I put mine through the wash machine. There is now a persistent squeak in one sole. Very annoying and I don't know how to fix it.
