Word to the wise: These shoes are very narrow, and going a size up won't help. Also I must say that like most "hiking" shoes they offer very little cushioning. Also there is next to zero support for pronators, my foot bent inwards immediately. Sticking with Keens, the uppers are tougher and the foot bed is roomy, although their cushioning is non-existent.

My husband's feet are dry and comfy. This is the second pair we bought and they are terrific! He uses them every weekend for the dirt trails and he usually gets them wet or muddy, as so does our dog. They hold up very well as did the last pair of seven years. He is vegetarian and prefers this type of fabric. It is sturdy, fits well, looks good and a great value.

I’ve owned 3 pairs of these and love the balance of weight, protection, durability, breathability vs waterproof, and function. I hiked the entire AT in a couple pair. They are lighter than other footwear in the Mid class but not quite as trail runners. I always treated them with a suede waterproofing as required out of the box for maximum dryness. I believe it says so on a card in the box if I recall. For my fourth pair I’m going with the lower cut version.

I was looking for a lower profile hiking boot, but was limited because of my size requirement. I decided to try the Scarpa based on other good reviews. I am extremely happy with my purchase. These fit great and were comfortable right out of the box. I can't judge the arch support as I have to use my own arch support inserts regardless, but with 10-15 miles on them in the first few days, I definitely recommend them.

Awesome boot! Fit like a glove! The most comfortable and versatile boot I have ever worn. Spend the weekend hiking and climbing in Yosemite and couldn't be more pleased.

Bought these for my husband and he absolutely loves them. He said they are very, very comfortable. He wears them everywhere. I love the look of them too! Fit true to size.

Bought these for our impossible-to-please son and he loved them, trying them on immediately and strutting around the house. He's a serious outdoors man, hiker, fisherman and he loves the Gortex and the reinforced toe.

I tried on seven other pairs of hiking shoes and boots before deciding on these. The choice was VERY easy, as these not only had the features I wanted, but were BY FAR the most comfortable pair of the bunch. When you put them on, you literally can't feel any seams at all. It feels like one continuous length of comfort. Plus, I really like the look of these, compared to most other hiking shoes and boots. They have a cool, urban, kind of sporty look, and I find myself pretty much wearing them every day. I thought they'd sit on my shoe rack until hikes, but quite the opposite has happened. Love them!

These are a great light-weight alternative to a full-size (weight) hiking boot. It is only a few oz heavier than most of the beefy trail-runners on the market. After heavy rain the outside, uppers dries quickly from simply wearing in dry weather. The Gore-Tex kept my feet dry in any mud I trudge through but I highly recommend treating with a water-proofing before first use on entire upper (tongue and ankle). The laces tie well and though seem a little long but are sufficient length not to lose through the eyelets when loosening for removal. The lacing does a great job of keeping your heel in the back of the boot with the arch being snug and the heel being locked in place. The treads grip well on rock faces when smearing and wear very slowly.

The Scarpa Moraine Mid GTX seemed at least a full size shorter in length and a full letter narrower in width. It was so small I just compared it to the shoes I was wearing and put it back in the box. If you have a narrow foot and need a light hiker, this may be a good choice.
