It’s just so pretty and it’s silly but it makes me happy. The color, the smell, the stitching and the contrasting. It feels wonderful and I feel wonderful when I carry it. Excellent birthday gift !

For anyone who thinks the strap is too long, it can be doubled up! Just pass it through one end and reconnect on the other! Problem solved! Love, love, love this bag.

I really wanted to love this bag but I could not get past the opening on the bag. The zipper is attached at the end and trying to get into the bag to get something out was difficult. Otherwise the bag is beautiful and the leather was fabulous. I may order the larger one to see if bag opening is better.

This bag in T.Moro is gorgeous! A bag of such high quality leather is going to be heavy, but I don't find this to be exceptionally cumbersome. I have the larger version of this bag and already I prefer this one. It holds a lot and keeps my items organized nicely.

This is a beautiful bag. It is a heavy bag but the strap helps when carrying it for an extended period of time. If the strap is too long then simply add additional hole(s) to where it is comfortable for you. The leather is beautiful and the styling is unique. The zippered top can be folded inward as shown in the example (for those who don't care for the red zipper) and also folded over to show the zipper area. Either way it is very stylish and beautiful. The price I paid was very good because I got it on a holiday special. This bag will last a very long time and is well worth the money even if paying full price. The handles could have been a little longer, perhaps an inch or two. This would allow more clearance for the hand/arm. Overall, a very classy bag.

I'm back! This satchel is so worth every dime that I paid for it! I agree about the strap being long, way too long! It's made for someone over six ft. I would've liked if I didn't have to add holes though. The leather is beautiful and unlike flimsy "faux" leather purses this bag somehow manages to make it easier to find things, the strap for keys is awesome since I consistently lose my car keys! I'm getting the tan purse to add to the blue one I have, that's how much I like it!

I bought this in the “tan.” The leather is true quality and hard to beat! However, without anything in it, it is far too heavy for comfort.

Overall a beautiful bag. Bought based on size and classic style for a trip to Europe where I would only have one handbag. The bag needed to fit the airline personal bag size restrictions, which it barely does, so perfect. Can hold a ton. It doesn't open quite as much as I would like, so stuff can be hard to find on occasion. It is heavy, even empty. The quality of the bag is obvious, received many compliments.

This is the first Dooney I've purchased in about 10 years. I've been admiring this purse for some time now. Well, let me tell you that I am very happy with this gorgeous satchel! I was torn between this Small size satchel & the Mini size satchel. The Mini would have been big enough for me. But the Mini's double handles' drop length was way too short. That's the only reason why I decided on this size. For me, this "Small" size is more like a Medium size. The quality of the leather is top-notch. The leather on these Florentine bags can vary greatly. Some of them are super-smooth leather & some are more pebbled. I have a pebbled one, which I feel is much more scratch-resistant than the smooth leather. This purse is very well-made. It's better quality than some purses that cost double or triple this price. There are enough pockets inside to keep my things organized. Also, I found out that you can take apart the long strap (separate it into 2 pieces) & double up one of the straps. There's a video on Youtube that shows you how. This purse is a bit heavier than I'm used to carrying. I think it's because the leather is thicker than my other handbags. It seems like this purse will last a lifetime. And since the style is so timeless, it will never go out of fashion.

Just got the small Florentine satchel in red from Zappos. It's beautiful. This satchel style knows no ugly color. I also have it in white also from Zappos, the fastest delivery of any online mail order company. Thanks again, Dooney, for a great bag and, Zappos, for the greatest customer service.

I've had this bag for a while now, I get tons of compliments everytime I use it. Smells like quality leather, which I love!!!

I bought my first D&B (small) satchel, in black python, just recently. I loved it so much I thought I'd try out a more "every day" color. I chose to order through Zappos because I love them. Best service ever. This bag is perfect for me; the chestnut color is easily 4 seasons perfect, the leather of superior quality, & it's both polished enough for work & casual enough for weekends. It's such a casually elegant bag - one that won't fall out of style & high quality that'll last for years. The regular size satchel is too big for my 5'4" slender frame - this small size still holds plenty! I have my makeup case, hard sunglasses case, small hairbrush & hairspray, wallet, keys, etc...I could easily fit my Kindle Fire, too! I personally don't find this bag too heavy. Shoulder strap is nice, fits me well. I just love it & you will too!

This purse is totally worth every penny! The leather is very high quality. This purse holds everything! I love having the option of the longer shoulder strap. I keep it attached and in the purse when I'm not using it. I get compliments on this purse all the time! Love!

I really love this bag. I have been looking for a brown bag for some time, and the color had to be just right. I had tried the Rebecca Minkoff Mab Mini Whipstitch Shoulder Bag; it cost a little more which wasn't the problem the color just wasn't right. I bought he DB bag in chestnut which is exactly the color I was looking for. I thought that this bag might be a little to preppy or rustic for me as my style is a bit more edgy; however, this bag adds something unique and interesting to my current wardrobe. This bag is a great size. I'd hate to see the larger sized as it would be too big for me. I didn't find it to be to heavy like many reviews have claimed. The red and green interior seems classic for the brand. This bag seems like it will only get better with time and will never go out of style.

I bought the medium bag and it's OK. I certainly don't love it. The opening is too small and it makes finding things inside difficult. If they would have extended the zipper to create a larger opening I would feel less frustrated every time I try to find my glasses or wallet. Also, an outside cell phone pocket on the back would make finding the ringing phone much easier. I agree with the other reviewer about the shoulder strap being too long. It's not the most expensive bag but I did expect some extra thought on the part of the designer. The bag is heavy because the leather is full grain. That means it will hold up forever but I'm not sure I want it to. I will probably give in to my frustration and stop carrying the bag long before it shows any sign of wear. I definitely like the way it looks. Too bad functionality didn't follow.

This is a GORGEOUS bag. Loved everything about it. The leather is beautiful, and it is a very well made bag. It has a lot of room for all of your essentials to fit with room to spare. The reason I'm returning it because of the size. It's just too big for my needs at this time.

This bag is fantastic!... so classic and versatile. The leather is soft and the burnishing isn't too overdone. Understated and elegant.. I've received so many compliments on it.. anyone who knows a quality bag spies it right away!...

It's a beautiful high quality handbag. I own it in three colors. I love it. Except for the opening being a bit small for the size of the bag. I've owned a few handbags in my life, and I don't believe you can find a more beautiful, handmade leather bag for any price anywhere!

I loved this bag. It's gorgeous and the leather is very high quality. However, it's too small for my everyday needs. My two other concerns are 1) it's a bit heavy and 2) the opening of the bag is very narrow and difficult to access. I really wanted to keep this bag but for the amount of stuff I carry, I couldn't justify keeping it due to the cost and how much real use I would get from the bag. I love it but I have to return it.

I returned bag. The fit was too big for my small frame. I was extremely disappointed that the bag was dumped in a plastic bag then sent in a UPS plastic bag rather than a box. The bag came without tags and a warranty (which Dooney always provides). There was a big line down the front of the bag (scratch/leather marking?). Also, in the photo on Zappos’ website, it show a snap on one of the interior pockets, which this bag did not have. I requested a return label, but also called Zappos to describe the bag missing paperwork, the condition of the bag, and how it was packaged. I spoke with Troy in customer service who was very apologetic and said it was probably a return and it never should have been sent or shipped this way. He offered to give me my refund before receiving the bag and I did get my refund in a timely manner. I returned the bag and sent an email to customer service to inform them that they received the return on 1/6/21, because Troy said if they didn’t receive the bag in 2 weeks, they would assume I am keeping it and would recharge my account. Christy responded that I would get a confirmation email within 24 hours, but did acknowledge she did she my return had been received. I still have not received a return confirmation which I would like for my records. In all, I would have to say that dealing with Zappos on this matter was easy and efficient, but I truly believe the bag I received was a return and even might have been switched for a knock-off (no snap on inside). I might add that I purchased a Patricia Nash bag a week earlier from Zappos and it came beautifully wrapped, brand new from the manufacturer and was shipped carefully in a Zappos box.

This is a gorgeous bag! Well made and sturdy, and you can fit quite a lot into it. It smells amazing. There is nothing not to like about this beautiful bag. Dooney and Bourke makes quality handbags and they are worth every penny. This is my second one and I will probably be purchasing a third one of these days.

I absolutely love the color my bag I got was on sale unfortunately it was missing the tassels on side and had scratches in it not dooney and Bourkes fault! It must have been a return but this color is spot on so I kept it!!! But Zappos is awesome gave me money back so that was awesome the bag itself is shupple soft leather oh so soft I love it.
