10 stars! This bag is exquisite in every way...pure class/elegance/refinement. Makes you look like a million bucks. I am extremely picky about my handbags and this one is perfect...very firm/structured and everything stays exactly where I want it inside. I hate a soft, squishy bag where everything goes straight to the bottom and I have to waste time rooting around to find what I want. This leather does scratch easily, but all you have to do is rub the scratch with your fingertips and it instantly buffs right out and disappears like magic. I will carry this bag for years...this is an example of getting what you pay for...pure quality. Be aware though, this is a very heavy bag...if you don't like a heavy bag, you won't be happy with this one. If you want to look like you own a summer home in the Hamptons, this is the bag for you! Love it!

Beautiful leather and very well-made. However, too heavy and opening is too tight. Zipper closure is sewn onto two half-flaps on the top of the bag and I find myself struggling with two hands opening and closing the zipper as the top flaps keep moving back and forth in whichever direction I pull the zipper pull. Too cumbersome to carry and use and not functional for me. Great-looking bag, though, especially when worn over the shoulder or crossbody.

Love this purse! It has great detailing and lots of it. Understated casual elegance. Very "Town and Country". The handles lay down flat against the purse for storage and when using the shoulder strap.

This bag is beautiful well made and the leather is incredible. The organizational ability of this bag is wonderful. The only criticism I have of this bag is that it is very heavy before it is filled, with a checkbook wallet and a small cosmetic bag the bag is almost too heavy to carry, because of this the jury is out I am not sure I will keep it, though I hate to send back such a lovely bag.

I got this bag in red from Zappos and love it, but I agree with everyone else that says it's too heavy. I think it's all that brass hardware along with big style of the bag. Even though it's small, the leather is substantial. I hate using the little handles; always makes me feel like an old bitty! I only buy bags with shoulder straps and though this one has one, it's way too narrow at only 3/4" wide and cuts into your shoulder! I have no problem with the size of the opening being too tight. So I went online looking for some kind of shoulder pad thingy I could use to make it better and found one at amazon.com. It's a Domko padded strap holder mostly used by professional camera guys for their heavy bags. It's too wide at 2" and it's about 10" long, but the strap of the bag fits inside the velcro tabs nicely and the cushioning is great. I can now use the bag in comfort, albeit the Domko looks a bit weird on it. The top part is a black leather look hard plastic, and the cushion part is beige heavy duty foam rubber covered in fabric, I think. I plan on using a permanent marker to make it all black. I want to get this bag in black with tan trim, and will just switch out the strap cushion and use between the two bags. I am in my 60's and this is my first "expensive" designer bag! I have never purchased anything but a black bag my entire life! Now when I need to find my purse, I can easily find it. This was just a spur of the moment purchase; I studied the sizes for each bag of D & B and realized this is the only one I liked for features, looks, and size as I'm only 5'2" tall. It holds a lot and it's not that deep so it's easy to find what you need, fast. Buy it, you'll love it!

This is a beautiful bag, made from solid leather and making a solid statement. It is very classy and organized look. Buy it! It is a tad heavy but the handles take the load off when lifting.

Dooney & Bourke is one of my favorite brands for purses. I own about 8. I had been waiting for a year to purchase something in their Florentine line and was thrilled to get this purse, in fuchsia, today. Perfect size to fit wallet, glasses, cell, notes, blush and lip gloss. Not too heavy and as I get older I don't want the oversize bags. Beautiful leather and detailing on the handles, cross body strap perfect length. I really like the cell pocket on the back and the front flap pocket. I always look for a bag with at least 1 exterior place to put items for easy access. This will be well used over the years.

This is a such a pretty bag. I have it in Red. This is good Red usable 4 seasons. I have the Smith bag which is huge. This one is smaller but still big enough to carry everything: book, agenda, make-up bag, wallet, etc... Love it. Evelyn Canada

Beautiful bag! Unfortunately there is a problem with the zipper design. The zipper keeps getting caught and twisting. I am afraid that eventually the zipper will come apart. It's really too bad that I had to send it back.

How great is this purse?! Quality is as expected from Dooney. I personally like it because you don't notice the brand name. Would never carry a Coach / Louis purse with their C's or LV's covering it. I don't get paid to be a walking advertisement. This bag is definitely not small. My only complaint is that the cross strap would be more comfortable if it were wider. This is thick quality leather so the bag itself is not light causing it to be a bit uncomfortable if you carry it over your shoulder for long periods of time. Besides that, love it! Would definitely recommend!

I absolutely love this purse. I have it in brown T. moro and it is amazing. It smelled awful when I got it. I love the smell of real leather, but this one had a nasty fishy smell. I had to air it out for quite sometime before I used it. And from buying it through Zappos, they raise the price. The price tag literally says it should be cheaper. That is kind of ridiculous with how much we are already spending on good bags. But it is worth every penny. I love this bag!

This purse is excellent - quality all the way around and it looks beautiful! I purchased the Chestnut brown, love the color and it is so versatile. You will be able to use this purse for years.

This is a gorgeous, well-made purse. But its looks are the only good thing about it. This satchel is extremely heavy. It weighs more than it's advertised. I have a postal scale & it weighed 2 pounds, 14 ounces. If I added my items, it would weigh around 5 or 6 pounds. For how heavy this purse is, the double handles are way too short to carry it comfortably. Also, the long strap digs into your shoulder. To top it off, the leather has a very strong, offensive (fishy) odor. The odor hurt my nose & made it run. I've heard of other Dooney & Bourke Florentine leather purses having strong odors. Apparently, some manufacturers use fish oil in the finishing process of their leathers. I would NOT recommend this purse at all.

I am a high end purse addict, I have more Coach, MK, Kate Spade, LV, etc than you can shake a stick at. I never really did get into Dooneys, my grandmother bought me one when I was a kid and I just didn’t like it. But then I saw the Florentine and I wanted it. Mine is the double pocket satchel, and I’m ridiculously impressed with this bag. I think it’s my favorite of all of the bags I’ve ever owned - and let me tell you that this is quite a statement! Color me impressed! I love the medium size (I usually carry extra large bags) but this one holds everything I would ever need and somehow it’s not a mess inside. I love the way the strap looks, I love the whip stitch, they fell of the inside. And it smells so good! I’ma fan ???? I also got the DB Continental clutch, and it’s also very well made but I wish it were larger. I look forward to carrying this bag for many years, and adding more DB to my collection. Definitely my new fav - never thought I’d be saying that!

My favorite handbag yet! I love the Dooney quality and construction, but sometimes they can be heavy or cumbersome. This one is sturdy like all the rest, but perfectly "carry-able" without fatigue. You can wear it crossbody (though it's about 2 inches shorter than I would like, but it still works), wear it on the shoulder, or grab the handles. It is the perfect size for my essentials. My wallet (thick) and extra checkbook fit nicely inside. My tissues fit nicely beside them in the spare space. The interior pockets are great. I love the exterior cell phone pocket and I use the front flap pocket for my keys. The style is great and this is a high quality bag. I've carried it for about a month now and the leather just gets better and better as it becomes broken in! (Sadly, I did not buy mine from Zappos because they didn't have the black I wanted, but Zappos rocks and I buy from them whenever I can!)

I got sick of using bags that didn't keep their shape, causing me to dig for my stuff. I've had this bag for over a month and love it. Pros: Easy access, beautiful styling, sturdy bag, many pockets, can be used as clutch or over the shoulder. Cons: A bit heavy. Initially the bag was stiff, but with use it has gotten better. Would reorder again.

I adore it. This was my first real leather handbag purchase and a month later I am still in love. Plenty of space, killer style in the teal and I got the matching wallet. I just adore this bag and have gotten tons of compliments. It is well worth the investment.

Love this handbag. The front flap pocket us perfect for coupons, shopping list, pen, etc. back slip pocket fits my iPhone perfectly. Main compartment is large enough for everything I might need during the day. Leather is the best of the best. I'm so glad I took the plunge & bought this bag. And Zappos next day delivery made it even better. Happy customer here!

This leather handbag met all my qualifications, good quality leather convertible medium sized satchel style with outside pockets for phone and such. Loved this handbag but too heavy for this young 60+ with Lymphedema due to breast cancer. Back to search. Thank you Amazon for making it simple.

I have not seen the purse but my wife loves it. She said it was a little heavy, but the quality of the material and workmanship is in line with her other Dooney and Bourke bags.

Actually, I loved this purse. It is beautiful and roomy. I did, unfortunately, return it because it was too heavy. The hardware on it just adds too much weight. But, for people who don't mind extra weight, it is a quality purse. I can't say enough about how pleasant it is to deal with Zappos. Their service is excellent and I have been buying from them for years. In fact, I just bought a hat from there.
