The Onitsuka Tiger fencing shoe has been around more than 40 years: I remember friends of mine using them when I was fencing in the early '70s. I figured that meant they had been user tested for fencing, and if they had stuck around that long, they must be reasonably good. They are. I bought two pairs: at this price, I could buy 3 pairs for the price of the Nike fencing shoe.

I ordered the black/white pair 5.5 size. Initially, it felt loose/bigger and I was debating to return it but I kept it because it looked nice. Once it was broken in, it feels comfortable and doesn't feel too loose. It's supple and easy to walk. The mesh also keeps my toes cool (I noticed it when it was cold outside).

We were so happy to find actual fencing shoes on Zappos! My son loves these - says they are great for fencing and very comfortable. We bought another pair for when he outgrows these. Thanks, Zappos!

I'm a former fencer, and I remember how comfortable my old fencing shoes used to be. I recently started suffering from shin splints, and I remembered that fencing shoes are designed to minimize that. So I got a pair and voila, no more shin splints. I wear these every day and I love them.

Great looking shoe; fits relatively well; true to size and width. Returned them because of the recessed circles on the soles. From the view of the soles, I guess I didn't understand they were recessed. I'm sure they serve a purpose for athletes and pose no problem for use on the track. However, for casual wear e.g. walking the dog or hiking in the woods. I can see those recessed areas quickly becoming filled with mud or muck and affecting the shoe's performance and comfort.

I love these shoes and want them now in other colors. They do have a slight arch built inside so if you are flat-footed this may take some getting used to. I ordered half a size up and they fit great.

I've been a fan of the whole Onitsuka Tiger line for awhile, but these are by far the more comfortable ones I've owned. Great support, comfortable on the feet sitting, standing, or walking. They even pass the ever important Ping Pong match comfort test. My favorite pair of shoes.

Not only do these shoes look fantastic, they feel even better. They provide good arch support and width make them feel as though they hug your feet. Such fit and feel make sense as to why they are built for fencing. They are a great color and a great conversation starter.

As always, my personal faves, Onitsuka and Zappos pair up with another awesome pair of shoozes that I can wear everyday. But they are white, and our yard is muddy, so I only got to wear them once so far. Lightweight, comfy, stylish, true to size. Not much more can be said than Thanks to Zappos and Onitsuka Tiger/Asics for another quality pair of shoes!

I have a closet full of Tigers, each one more comfortable and eye-catching than the next. This particular pair is my current favorite. I cannot recommend strongly enough how cool these shoes are.

I'm not used to a shoe with high arch support. These shoes definitely have that. So, for me personally its probably going to take getting used to. Love the look of the shoe and the materials. They are super light.

Deeply fond of this shoe. Fits and breathes well while being quite stylish. I own a couple of other similar shoes in this line and I find myself wearing this the most. Only downside is where the (looked up this terminology) vamp is connected to the toe cap. There seems to be some kind of threading that wasn't dyed as well. Minor complaint though.

These are great sneakers. Hard to find flattering styles in size 12! Very comfortable too.

Very comfortable, but the thing that I was most amazed by is how LIGHT they are. I feel like I'm walking on air. Fit true to my old onitsuka's (different model).

Excellent shoe! I'm going to start using it for training. I was unsure if it would work since I ordered it from the Philippines and had it shipped to the US, and by golly it worked. Great support as well. Perfect!

For the young fencer these shoes are terrific. Measure carefully before ordering -- use the excellent size instructions on the web site.

These are the best stylish sneakers available. I wish they would make more colors. I would buy them all. I gave three pairs now and an still stocking up.

Super-comfortable right out of the box. The material breathes very easily, and the shoes are great for moderate activity as well as casual use.

I love these shoes. They're vary comfortable to walk in and stand in. I am a pharmacy technician, so I needed a good shoe for standing in for 8 hours shifts and for maneuvering around the pharmacy. I've had these for about two months now, and I have no complaints about them. I get lots of compliments on their look and design, and I couldn't be happier about my purchase.

A great shoe. I actually use it for fencing. The rounded heel and reinforced areas are in just the right places: the places that usually give out on most running/wrestling shoes that I've always used for fencing in the past. Lightweight and sturdy. No complaints at all. I would not that I tended to be between 12 and 12.5 (US) depending on brand and for me the 12 is a little snug, if you are a tweener I would suggest opting for the larger size.

Love the shoes, great style, great comfort. Note that I usually wear a men's 11.5 (even my Ultimate 81 Tigers are 11.5) but these I wear a 10.5, which I found out the hard way. Luckily Zappos has the best customer service of all time.

These are my favorite shoes. They've become less well made over the years but this will be my fourth pair of the Fencing LA's. Love them. They work very well on hardwood floors for indoor soccer and martial arts. Not very well padded for basketball or lots of running, however.

Feels pretty nice right out of the box. Haven't had a chance to wear them around the house yet, but my picky feet were fairly pleased with the first try-on which means they will probably break in quickly and soon be a favorite. The arch support feels off to me which just means it's not in exactly the same location as my "go-to" Coach sneakers, but I don't yet foresee a problem.

I bought these as a "newbie" fencer, and love them! Several of the guys on the team saw them and reminisced about them being their first fencing shoe and how great they were. The rounded heel is great for footwork, and the alternating skid soles are great, but only for right handed fencers! (I am, so it was ok!)

The lightest shoe I've ever worn. I've been using it for fencing but will get another pair for regular use.
