I bought this boot because I work at UPS and they require a solid toe box. I had never owned a pair of steel toes before and whenever I tried them on before they hurt. That was partially my fault. Piece of advice - Go to a store and get your foot size measured. Do not buy the store's shoes, come to Zappos.com to do that, but figure out in advance what you actually are sized. Since 6th grade I was under the impression I wore a size 12. I wear a size 9 1/2...double wide (WW)!! It makes all the difference. So anyways, the boot. I wanted something that could potentially look classy if I wanted to wear it outside of work, I wanted something comfy, I wanted brown/burnished brown leather, not black, and I wanted a lighter weight toe then the steel. These are one of the best pairs of footwear I have ever owned. First of all, they are beautiful boots, like enviable. The leather is really soft. The toe is light and roomy but not like...your foot will be shifting around in it all the time. And it looks good at work and as long as you keep it clean (UPS kicks up a lot of dust and cardboard and it gets on the shoe so I have to wipe it down kind of regularly). It looks great as an actually dressier casual footwear, and it isn't uncomfortable in that usage either. I also am under the impression since Irish Setter is a part of the Red Wings Shoe Company, that if you go into one of their actual stores they will oil the boots leather for free. Haven't verified, but that would be a plus. Finally, I want to say that my experience with this purchase was phenomenal. This was my first purchase on Zappos that I had ever made, and it was just, a great experience, if for no other reason than the confidence the person I was talking to gave me in my purchase and the ability I had to return it if (since I had not owned a 9 1/2 pair of shoes...(WW) before) it didn't fit. So. I think the easiest way to put this is, buy them.

Great service and fast shipping. Boot seems to run a bit larger. Consider buying half size smaller with this style.

Great shoe. But it is way larger than a regular sized 10. I tried wearing them so I cannot return. I will give them away since they do not fit.

Boots are comfortable and feel good after wearing all day.

Have had them for over 2 years. Only thing I’ve done to these boots are oil them every once in a while with mink oil to keep the leather conditioned. Working in a warehouse they are great. I’ve tried many other brands of boot and these for wide feet are perfect.

Great boots

I already have a pair of these in a size 10. They fit great besides being a little big so I’m getting a 9.5 as my daily work boots. Can’t rave about them enough to people!!!

I think I've lucked out in sizing as my boot size seems to line up perfectly with my sneaker size of 9.5. At first I was afraid these were slightly too big because they weren't tight and uncomfortable, but did have some slight heel slippage. I put some better insoles in them and allowed a couple of weeks to break in. No heel slippage anymore and they feel like home. In addition to upgrading the insoles (Timberland Pro) I also got new 64", thick laces. I think these upgrades are crucial... and despite adding an additional $40 onto the total price everything is very well worth it.

I am going to reorder the shoes but in a small size

I love the boots. Ive had them for almost a year i work at amazon the bottom rubber is gone in the backs on the heels my leather where the steel toe is gone basically. I know that it seems like a negative but its not. Overall there very comfy. I am going to probably order another pair very soon just wish they lasted more then 10 months.

Went from the Traction Tred Redwing 6" to these Irish setters (basically the Traction Treds little sister) Overall im very satisfied! The only thing I don't like about them that my treds offered was a well insulated boot, these arent well insulated (which im just not use to but im growing on them!) Will be purchasing another pair in 6 months.

Most people always say to me that when it comes to steel toe boots order half a size up, i took that advice and its slightly loose enough to have heel slippage, going to send back for a size exchange and i will be happy.!

BOUGHT THESE BOOTS FOR MY SON, WHO WORKS IN CONTRUCTION. HE SAID THEY ARE VERY COMFORTABLE, AND VERY WELL MADE.

My review of these boots is only to say that these boots are very nice looking and look to be well built. I wanted a women's 12 but Zappo's never has them so I have to order a mans size. The length is great but it is wider than I would like.

Wish they came in a smaller size, had to go to an 8 since a 7.5 wasn't an option.

Fit great really nice pair of boots

The boot fits great. I ordered a wider size boot, as the regular size was a bit narrow for my feet. If you are leaning towards a wider size, be sure to get it. I normally wear anywhere from an 11 to 11.5, and this boot runs a little smaller. I originally ordered a regular size 10.5, but the boot wasn't wide enough towards the toes, so I sent them back and got an 11 wide. The boot is slightly big, but there is plenty of room for warm socks and possibly gel inserts if they are needed (Still really comfy wihout any). I see these puppies lasting me a long time. Great shoe for work.

Awesome pair of boots and extremely comfortable! The first day I wore them for an 8 hour shift and were still comfortable a couple of hours later. I've only had them for a week and I love them. There's nothing like the stability of a wedge sole boot and the sole is ample wide. The laces are pretty cheesy, but functional. Lighter than most safety toe work boots out there. I tried them on at a Red Wing store because I hate ordering shoes thru the mail without knowing exactly how they will fit. I can absolutely see myself purchasing these boots again and would definately recommend them.

great boot. Insole insert kind of sucks, but all else is great. High quality boot.
