Fatcat. Irish setter 6" wedge. 1) Zappos is the best place to buy any shoes. My last delivery was so quick, I couldn't have gone to the store and back in that time frame (darn near). In the construction trade 35 years. Have used all the top brands. For the price these are a really good deal. Very comfortable. Durable and provide safety. Great traction. Just oil them first and break in time is about two days and isn't bad at all. Most of my boots average 200 to 300 dollars and hurt like hell. It's either feet knees or lower back always something. But last forever. Don't really know if it's a good thing meaning I have to fight them longer to make the cost worth it. I'm sure you can get a year or two out of these and they are very comfortable and solve all the above problems. Do yourself a favor and get these boots. You will love them and won't want to take them off. It's my go to shoe for almost anything. Thanks Zappos and Irish setter. You both always do an outstanding job.

I love them, I work on a concrete floor at a brewery and also in myworkshop. I had pain in my arch even when wearing a hiking style boot with vibram soles. Got these and foot pain has gone away within a few days. Oiled them and put some leather laces on, wear them everyday.

Perfect fit, but the inside left heel seam started to pull out and the left sole seam was not glued properly and caused a gap. Will be ordering another pair to replace these with. Hoping they hold up better.

These boots are well made and fit perfect right out of the box. Leather is soft and needed no time to break in. If you are in between sizes I would suggest the smaller size. I have problem feet and went with the EE width and replaced the supplied insoles with my orthopedics and they slipped right in without any issues. If you are on your feet a lot these boots are a great option. They are comfortable with excellent traction and support. I highly recommend these Irish Setters boots.

I purchased and received these boots about two weeks ago and am quite pleased with my purchase. They are well made, lightweight, and reasonably comfortable right out of the box. These boots are not insulated in any way and would be not be adequate for a cold environment but for Macon, Georgia, they are perfect. Also, they have an insole that can be replaced and they can be resoled when the time comes. Although I have only had them for a short time and have only walked about 15 miles total with them, so far I can recommend them without hesitation.

Love these boots, bought them for a trip to Seattle. Broke them in first day with 10 miles of walking doing the touristy stuff. I was wearing wool hiking socks, definitely recommended. I put in around 30 miles on them for the trip.

Shoelaces that came with the boots to not allow you to pull on tight. The result is a loose fit and heel slip. I changed the laces and now the boot stays on tight and snug with no slip. The boots are very comfortable and appear to be well made. After 3 days I am very pleased. They do appear to run large, I had to return for half size down.

After having several pairs of boots fall apart and not last long enough to even tell if they're comfortable- I finally bought these. These boots are great and reduce the soreness I had in my legs after 8 hours on concrete. I did put insoles in them. Clean up easy and got a ton on complements as a bonus. I've had them for several months and they still look brand new.

After switching styles and sizes 5 times I ended up with this boot. Having a pair of red wings I figured the sizing was similar, it was not. I would say these run .5 size long and wide. I also tried the Wingshooter by Irish Setter which had a different fit altogether. The first long walks in these were painful. The leather is quite stiff at first, but after breaking them in they are great. The leather really conformed to my foot making it really comfortable even after 10+ hrs. I ride the train in Chicago so I'm walking and climbing stairs and these boots have been soft and cushioned every time. Yeah, so, if you are OK with a stiff break in, go for it.

The Irish Setter Ashby 6-inch soft-toe work boot in brown was slightly larger than other size 8 1/2 D boots. The outside leather was good quality and looked as if it would condition and polish well. The insole was hard making the boot feel uncomfortable and leather inside boot was rough. The shoelaces that came in these boots were broken or partially cut on the ends making them unusable. I will return these boots and keep shopping with Zappos. I have worn Red Wing boots in my work as an electrician for many many years. The styles I have worn are no longer sold. I have been looking for a replacement with the same type sole and style but have not found anything that can compare to that style of Irish Setter work boot #83803. I need boots with less tread, not boots with deep lugs that are on most all of work boots on the market now. I will try wearing the Ariat Recon Lace Work boot. Just received these from Zappos, and that boot feels good on the feet, not too heavy, and the sole tread not too deep. It might not be as durable as the Red Wing boots used to be...but hopeful the Ariat will last for a little while. As always Zappos is a reliable company to work with. Orders are shipped quickly, and if needed returns are easy and quick.

I read reviews from many sites and people were saying these boots run a half size big. I wear a 12D in everything but in these Irish Setter Ashbys my heel was slipping and there was an inch of space in front of my big toe. I'm so glad I ordered a pair of 11.5D for comparison. My heel is snug and I've still got about half an inch of space in front. Very nice fit and quite comfortable right out of the box. I live in the south and I will be wearing thinner socks in the summer so I tried both thick and thin socks and I am comfortable with both. I love these boots!

My first pair of Irish Setters. Solid, well-built boot, but runs a bit narrow across the ball area. I've always worn a medium width (D) in all my shoes, but I returned these and got them in a EE width. That extra bit of width made all the difference.

I was really hoping these boots would work for me but they didn't. The quality and craftsmanship of these boots are excellent. They are even better looking in person than they are in the pictures. I was planning to wear these as a dress up boot to wear with jeans. As far as the feel goes; the wedge sole has almost zero rise in the heel and was very comfortable on my low arch feet. The problem for me was the shape of the last and the overall fitment of the boot. The length felt pretty accurate but the heel was very wide yet the toe box was very narrow. No matter what socks I tried or how I laced the boots, my toes were being crammed together and my heel was lifting inside the boot, every time I took a step. I could tell right away that these boots just did not fit the shape of my feet and it was not just a simple matter of breaking them in. If you have a wide heel and narrow toes, these might work for you but they certainly didn't work for me.
I'd also recommend:

These were incredible, felt good immediately when I put them on, the fit was perfect, and they felt great all throughout the day, on varied terrain, including rain on lumpy grass, a full day the first day with no need to "break in," it's now evening and they still feel good on. They were warm, on a cool fall day too. I'm going to live in these. I know, these gushing reviews are boring, so let me assure you I'm very critical. I have a terrible foot and ankle injury and have had 4 surgeries so far, it's very hard for me to find comfortable shoes.

Outstanding boots! I use these for casual wear, they look sharp with jeans and are very comfortable. The price is reasonable, they fit true to size and are comfortable right out of the box. They did get even more comfortable after putting some miles on them, I highly recommend these boots.
