My son wore these shoes for 10 days of High School tennis team practice and the soles are ridiculously worn. The tread is gone on parts of the sole. Have never seen a shoe break down this fast. Very disappointed in this Nike product. Comfortable, stylish, but terrible quality.

Got these for my 15 year old son. He likes them a lot and they look nice too. Usually he would wear a 14 in Nike, but these he needed a 13.

After 2 months of tennis the soles were totally smooth and I had to replace them. My son is not that tough on shoes; never have I had a pair of court shoes need replacing this quickly. I'll stick with New Balance from now on.

These will not hold up. My 14 year old son is on the tennis team. He had these for two weeks. One side of the soles is already slick. If you play one time per week, they look good, but my son plays everyday and has tournaments on weekends. I am very disappointed.

I got these shoes brand new from a Nike outlet for a great price. They looked durable and kind of cool. Unfortunately, these shoes are not durable at all. The soles went bald only after a few times wearing them for tennis, and some of the stitching on the upper started to come undone. The worst of all is how uncomfortable they are. I kept wearing them thinking they will break in. That never happened. I just keep getting blisters every time I wore them.

These shoes are really comfortable! I suffer from really bad heel pain and usually wear orthotics in all of my shoes to give me extra cushioning in the heel, but with these shoes, I don't even need the extra cushion because they're really bouncy in the heel. Traction is great for playing on hard courts. I love these shoes.

Horrible shoe. Stiff. Cheap plastic front, doesn't breathe. Can't believe Nike would make a shoe like this.

Great classic sneaker for a guy who doesn't want a lot of color. Comfy too. However, I find Nike to run slightly narrow so I ordered a 1/2 size larger.

I agree with some of the reviewers. The soles on my pair are already beginning to wear smooth. This may not be a big deal, because I think the soles will remain tacky enough not to be a problem (soft rubber). Will see how that goes. Other than that, the soles aren't separating yet, and the tops are sturdy. I have already scuffed up both toes, but that's expected with a toe dragger like me.They had a slight break in period, or it just took me 3 or 4 matches to get used to how they feel. They have very little arch support. As far as looks go, they are totally cool looking (volt yellow). I like the wild color shoes and don't mind the ribbing I get from my fellow classmates and opponents. I did replace the volt colored laces with black...it tones down the yellow a bit and adds a cool contrast. Good tennis shoe for the price.

Have been playing with these for about a month (about 2X/week) and I love it! It's a very well-cushioned sole and comfortable inside with great ankle support, perfect for those mid-stride direction shifts! My only concern, and this may just be a result of lousy footwork, is that the front of the sole seems to be wearing out faster than the rest.

Nike tennis shoes are designed for comfort, and the Air Courtballistec 4.1 is no exception. I don't think I have ever worn a more comfortable pair of shoes. That being said, however, this old adage also is true: Pro's wear Nike, college players wear adidas. As comfortable as this pair of shoes was, I wore out the sole in 2-3 weeks or less. But Nike for comfort, but buy adidas for durability.

In my opinion, these tennis shoes are probably one of the better looking pair that Zappos carries. Unfortunately, I didn't get the 1st color choice but stuck with them. When I first tried them on, I was surprised at how narrow the shoes were. It's not like I usually wear wide shoes. These were considerably narrower than other shoes I've worn. I thought it'd get better as I wear them but it never happened. I'm sure there is a good reason Nike designed these shoes this way even though I could not figure out what it was. My biggest complaint is the durability. I got these shoes towards end of August and I played once or twice a week and took a three week break at the end of the year. I'm not a big toe dragger but I do drag them sometimes (as any other tennis player would). By end of January, one shoe had a hole by the big toe and other shoe was getting there. As toe dragging is very common among tennis players, I'd think that Nike, especially when they are spending millions of dollars in R&D, will build more durable shoes. Maybe they know this but they want the customers to buy shoes more often. In conclusion, these shoes felt very tight around the arch of my feet and had no durability whatsoever. I've always been loyal to Nike shoes but I just ordered some K-Swiss to see if they hold up any better. I'll have to try Adidas next time as well.

I'm not sure yet... but I'm definitely going to try others...

My son, on the high school tennis team, has worn these for 4 weeks and they already have a hole in the bottom. The soles are also 'slick'. We should have listened to the reviews, I now have to buy a new pair 4 weeks later.

My son wore these playing tennis for one day and they had a hole in the side. After a week the bottom was really worn down. I returned them to Zappos for a different brand.
