Sperry WIDE means WIDE and I like it! When I write "Fits Narrow," it's because initially, (only) my right foot little toe felt cramped. My second thought was, THESE are going to "form-fit" to MY foot! In my previous purchases of Sperry's WIDE, the shoes fit just fine. The difference between the Sperry Gold Cup and my "lesser priced" Sperry Boat Shoes is the Gold Cup style has a buttery soft lining that will form-fit to the foot I realize as I see the beginning outline of my pinkie toe starting to form the shoe to my foot. I think I'll be pleased. Time will tell!

Ive been wearing this style shoe for many years and absolutely love them. Great for everyday and comfortable on most all terrains. A couple years ago, Sperry tweeked the shoe and eliminated a small cutout in the heal which made it easier to slip on and off without re-tying. Wish they would offer that shoe again. Id be back as a customer.

When I was younger, the old Sperry topsiders were basically one style with hardly any support etc but I loved them nonetheless- always perfect with jean shorts and tee- am I aging myself much. Then this old hippie's feet did what feet do as they age, and lose their padding. This was about the time the first Gold Cups came onto the market. Sure they seemed expensive but I gave them a shot and now they seem like money well spent. I have been wearing them a long time, shoes have been harder and harder to find for my aching feet, but these shoes continue to feel great, with or without socks. My only disapointment is that they no longer come in the cognac color. I am currently buying up old stock of the cognac where ever I can find it- bought the last two pair Peltz shoes had in my size for example. Great shoes, just please bring back the great cognac color please!

My husband has worn Sperry Gold Cup shoes exclusively for the last 20 years or so. He says the lamb skin liner is very comfortable on his feet. The shoes are comfortable from day one. This pair was no exception.

I own 6 pairs of Gold Cup Boat shoes, all with the ASV sole. I tried the newer sole shoes twice and gave them to DAV as they are too thin and offer no support. This is probably the last pair of Sperry shoes I will buy as they no longer offer shoes with the ASV soles and according to the web site, I bought one of the last 2 pair of ASV shoes available. NO MORE SPERRY FOR ME!!!

The leather is soft which makes the shoe very comfortable. I love the sole, I was disappointed when Sperry stopped making them years ago for the Gold Cup, I am glad the sole is back.
