Awesome jeans! They fit great and look tailored without feeling tight. If you're on the fence about "tapered" jeans, like I was, because you're worried about them feeling tight, these are the jeans for you!

It is hard for me to find jeans that fit my body type perfectly. These are not too slim but aren't too loose at the bottom either.

This fit is exactly what I needed when I out grew my 511. The amount of taper is perfect. I ordered the rigid envy wash and I am very happy with the color. These will be my go to pair of jeans for a while.

I love these jeans. I ordered a 33x34 and it's a little long (I'm 6'2", about 210), but it's better than going too short. Plus, I can cuff them a bit and they still look fine. They're as comfortable as any jeans I've ever worn and the wear isn't too heavy. I'll definitely be buying more pairs in different colors, especially since they're cheaper than what I'd find at any department store. Zappos, you rock.

perfect fit and style for me. Sad they are not making these anymore, so I may clear out the Zappos stock... ;)

These were exactly what I was looking for. I needed some jeans that had more room in the top block than the 511's but still had a tapered leg.

The denim could be a touch heavier; I flip up the cuffs when I wear low shoes like chucks and the material is too thin to stay flipped. Size runs large, even for Levis. I was suspicious of the stretch, but I've come to like it. Color is great.

I bought these for my husband who is very slim and they fit perfectly. Not too trendy, not too frumpy - a nice slim, flattering fit.

I like my jeans to be more or less form fitting. I have been wearing 510s for a long time now, but started working out and they have gotten too tight in the thighs. After looking around for a similar but more relaxed cut, I found the 508s, and they are almost the perfect pair of jeans--they have ample room in the legs for those with larger thighs, and taper down nicely through the calves and ankles, avoiding the boot cut look. I would like the leg opening to be even smaller, but I just fold the bottoms over and roll them up once or twice to keep the bottoms from flaring out at all. As far as sizing goes, I am normally a 32 waist in the 510s and I sized down to 31 in these and they fit great (a tad loose, if anything). So I would probably recommend sizing down if you are in doubt. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the color/material selection, and that is more of a personal thing. I am a big fan of dark, unwashed denim (like the "rigid dragon" color that is currently offered in the 510s), and I ride my bike a lot so I need some stretch in there for mobility. Unfortunately, the "rigid envy" color in the 508s is kind of a strange, grayish blue and is 100% cotton, so no stretch there. The closest thing I found was the "rinsed playa" which is slightly greenish and has some artificial creasing, but is pretty close to a dry indigo look and is 2% elastane which makes it stretchy and very comfortable. Given that the fit and material were exactly what I needed, I was willing to settle a little on the color. Probably won't be an issue for most people. Very satisfied with the jeans overall.

I'm a big dude, 6'1" 250lbs. I'm not fat, just big. Most of the reviews I've read are by panty waisted guys with 34" inch waists. I haven't worn 34's since I was 12. Anyway, my point is- even though I'm big I like the fitted look. Not skinny junk crushing jeans, not skin tight, just not baggy or mom looking jeans. I first tried the 514's but the leg opening is too big, almost boot cut. Found the 508's and was stoked as I could wear a 38" waist (had to get 40's in 514). I have the quincy, black, and rigid envy's. The black's have elastic, they are stretchy. Not a bad thing, but they fade kind of weird. The quincy's are new and fit good, haven't washed them yet so i'm not sure how they'll be. The rigid envy SHRINK A LOT-they currently reside in the "when I drop ten pounds" section of my closet. Bottom line is-these are good if you want a clean tapered, but not skin tight, fit and you don't have the body of a ten year old boy. Tapered jeans for man sized men. My only gripe with all of Levi's different styles is that the fit differs depending on the color. This is just stupid. All 501's should fit like 501's, all 508's should fit the same, etc. They don't and Levi's apparently doesn't give a rip.

I really like the ways these fit, and the style with the narrow, tapered legs, but I'd like them better if they were offered in 33x36. As they are now, they're just really loose around my waist. Guess I need to gain some weight...

The jeans are very comfortable and the color style is dressy. The rise is a little higher than I like, but is okay.

Although this style looks great, especially dressed up, it isn't a perfect fit, but almost. I call these "my dress jeans." Working in them wouldn't be fun for me. I have a wider and taller than average hip structure, so these are a little lower rise in the back than I'd like, but this is my limit. I have found myself readjusting the back after I rise from a seated position to straighten the cinching at the centre back belt loop. Any lower rises wouldn't work. I own the 550 and a pair of 562. But those are too loose in the hip to be stylish, though they are comfy. The 517 are about right with my hip size, but the leg widths have to be narrowed surgically. These 508 are a little skimpier than the 517, and can only be worn with shoes as the narrow leg shows off a nice pair. Boots won't work well unless they are the narrow topped tight lacing style. Although, what's the point of wearing a boot cut jean that hides the boots? The 508 will just make it around my slip on short boots, but they have to be readjusted constantly upon standing up from seated. Overall, Levi's waist sizes vary by style, and often have to be tried first. The 508 will probably work fine for most average male physiques. However, be warned gentlemen to mind your noisettes as getting in and out of a car quickly can be a little uncomfortable if not potentially dangerous.

First of all great jeans! The cut is awesome for a big legged guy who still wants a trim cut pants. They fit really comfortably in thigh and hip and get trim after knee. But they do seem to have a size issue between colors. My ryans run the loosest, and have the least denim feel. The tazers are my favorite, they fit like a glove, and have a denim feel. The Everglades were to constricting in thigh and had to move past them. So if you dont mind trying them on, there great.

I'll start by saying I love these jeans. Being tall I have a 36 inseam which pretty much cannot be found in stores so the length was spot on. The waist on the other hand is off. I have a 34 waist and these are at least a 35 if not close to a 36. The color is great and I like the dark blue stitching and slightly distressed pockets. My legs being on the skinny side I like a slim fit and with the tapper, making these roomier on the top half make them very comfortable. I gave the overall rating a 4 due to the waist size being bigger than what I needed.

I bought these jeans because I squat and was hoping to find something comfortable that fit my thighs, unfortunately these jeans are not the solution. They are way too tight around the thigh even though they fit well and make your butt look good. I will wear them for a night out but I'd never choose to wear them as my normal jeans. In addition these jeans stank terribly when I opened them up. A run through the washer fixed it but man was it bad. Overall they look good, but they are way too tight in the thigh even when the waist is accurate if you lift.

I have owned 508's in the past. They seem to have different color options and the quality is a bit lower. The color I ordered is a bit faded, and too much sanding on fabric.

It's difficult to rate these jeans higher than 3 stars based on the sizing. I own a lot of 508's and some vary in fit depending on the material. But these are maybe 4 inches too bit in the waist...which is nuts. I'm sure they are fine jeans but the sizing is completely incorrect.

I have several of 508 jeans, and really like the style. For some reason, the ones I just ordered are excessively long. Probably will need to return because so long.

Being a bigger guy that is not very tall I have trouble finding jeans that fit well above the knees without being too wide on the bottom and dragging on the ground. I like to wear Chuck Taylors with jeans and these are the only ones that allow me to do that without stepping on them all day long. The fit between the different washes can be inconsistent though. Some of them use traditional 100 percent cotton denim and some are made of stretch denim. The stretch denim washes seem to be cut a bit larger and gave me a little room without even stretching the fabric. When I tried them in my normal size they were way too big and I had to size down. The all cotton wash seems to be more true to size because when I tried the same size as what I got in the stretch denim they were very tight. I'm not exactly sure why they make different washes of the same style number with totally different fitting fabric. It makes it very difficult to find the right size without having to ship them back and forth several times. It seems many of the stores in my area do not keep these in stock so getting them online is the best, and sometimes only, option. The overall cut is great if I get the right size but it is just annoying that the fit from wash to wash is so inconsistent. All that being said, Zappos is great and I love shopping with them.

Like another reviewer I am smaller in the waist and thicker through the butt/legs. No one makes stylish jeans for this body type (actually, I have had success with Buffalo). This is a great attempt by Levi's...the jeans fit my waist and legs and look stylish. However, I am on the shorter side (30" inseam) and the waist comes too high. So it looks a little awkward and grandpa-like for such a cool pair of jeans. Returning, but happy Levi's came so close.
I'd also recommend:

I was looking for a pair of slim fitting jeans with a narrow hem i.e. not baggy. I can't wear skinny jeans as I can't get my thighs into them. These are perfect in that aspect but they are very loose in the seat/crotch area. Way too much excess denim which bunches when I sit down. The waist also has a weird elastic material which may suit some people. I tried the size down (waist 34) which was better but a little too tight in the seat/crotch area. The 511's are a better fit for me.

I like these pants. Good color. Very flexible to wear with different colors. I was interested in trying this cut because I wanted something that was not skinny, not baggy, in between. So this was exactly what I was looking for in the legs. But I find them a bit too tight if you have any items in your pocket. So because of that this'll be a one time purchase I'll have to look for a different cut next time.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I bought a pair in a store last year. They are awesome! These from Zappos are slightly different. They're much thinner, and have a spandexy stretchiness to them. They are slightly looser fitting in the waist than normal Levi's. I should have sent them back, but washed them before I noticed.

This version of the Levi's 508 is very poor quality. The fabric is thinner and looks cheap. I have purchased previous versions in Europe, and they are almost completely different in fit, finish, and fabric quality. How can two pairs of jeans with the same labels be so drastically different???!!!!
