As a disclaimer, I am hard on my jeans. I expect them to be both stylish and sturdy, and I expect to be able to buy the same style and size from a manufacturer without needing to deal with any variation beyond color. That said, I bought two pairs of 515s in different colors. The Star Sapphire jeans are exactly what I want in denim, flattering, comfortable, and sturdy without being too pedestrian. If I could only wear one pair of jeans for the rest of my life, it would be these jeans. Where the Star Sapphires are unadorned and sensible, exactly what you would expect from old-school Levis, the Lights Out color suffer from ugly top stitching and coppery sequins glued on the butt pockets, neither of which are adequately conveyed by Zappos' photos. The dinky rivets and limp, spongy denim aren't exactly highlights, either. They don't even fit the same, sagging off the backs of my thighs where my preferred pair nip neatly in. I'm not sure how Levis failed so badly with these where they succeeded with the Star Sapphires. Final verdict, I would give the Star Sapphires a 5 and the Lights Out a 2 if I could. There is significant variation between colors here, despite the fact that they fall under one umbrella description.

I have been wearing this style of Levi's jeans for years now. They aren't cut super-low in the waist, but they aren't old lady jeans, either. They are also very comfortable. They do stretch out a little after you wear them awhile. Zappos' price is competitive with other Websites that carry this same jean, but with Zappos, you get the awesome VIP free overnight shipping and customer service. A note of caution, though. It has been my experience that Zappos won't accept returns on clothing when the package has been opened and worn or washed, even if the item is defective. So the return policy is not as good as with Zappos' shoes. Overall, though, this is a good choice for someone who wants a basic bootcut jean. Levi's never go out of style!

I am so mad at these jeans. I bought them maybe a month ago and through normal laundering they've shrunk at least an inch in length so now they're too short. They fit perfectly for about 5 minutes and then stretch and sag so that within an hour I'm hiking them up and have room for a friend to share the butt with me. You'd think after a billion years of making jeans, Levis would have a decent fabric by now.

I like the fit of these jeans, and they are wearing well through multiple washes, not shrinking. Boot leg does lengthen the look of the leg. Paired with a tailored white shirt, they are my favorite classic casual outfit. Waistband could be a bit smaller in back to make them perfect for me.

They fit very funny on me. Crotch seam way too low; waist OK at start of day and then pants are falling off me after a couple hours of wear!

I tried on literally 38 pairs of jeans, mostly Levis, to find these. The waist is not gappy and the legs taper flatteringly. Good quality denim and deep pockets.

Love it. Have another pair that has too big of hole to wear out. Fits comfortably - some stretch in the fabric. I got the short so that I don't need to roll up the pant legs.

Yes these jeans fit very well for something I couldn't try on. I really like the shipping and return policy too. I'm keeping these tho!

The perfect jeans for me arrived one (1) day after I placed my order, at no additional cost. Amazing.

The color is beautiful and the cut is great. It runs a little larger than size so I would recommend ordering one size down. Also, this tall is for genuinely tall women (5'9" +). Very comfortable but I miss the stiffness and durability of all-cotton denim jeans and wish Levi's would return to that! Zappos' service, as always, was second to none!

This was the most ridiculous fitting pair of jeans I have ever put on. The crotch is long and droopy and they stretch too much. By the end of the day they look like clown pants. The most unflattering pants I have ever worn.

Love these jeans. I am in my late 40s and forever trying to "hide" that persistent softness in the middle that seems to stay put regardless of diet and workout. These jeans hit in the just the right way that you look slim, feel comfortable, and there is no annoying muffin top. I recommend getting them in Long if you can. I am 5'6" and 140 pounds and the size 6 Long was perfect.

I have never purchased a pair of Levi's before and made these my first based on the look and the other comments. They are wonderful! I found the fit to be right on, and flattering especially for me as I am a "curvy" woman. I am 5'6" tall and went with the regular length and am quite happy with that choice. I like my jeans to be a little long though. They are comfortable, stylish, and definitely not "mom jeans". Enjoy!

I wear 515's exclusively. Boot cut fits all my motorcycle boots and goes with other foot wear also. Just didn't like the Levi V being partially done in metal. When the pockets start to wear, I will have to pull the metal to keep it from scratching my leather bike and car seats. Levis - just stick with thread please!

I purchased these to replace same style I bought 6 or so years ago. They were a favorite go to casual jean.
It will take some wearing in of this new pair to get that comfy soft feeling, but the fit is the same, as is quality. These Levis are just classic.

This are really great jeans. The metal on the back has started falling off, but they are really comfy. I'm 5'9" and the regulars were almost too short, would have surely been if I dried them, so I opted for the long. This pair fits great but the other color I got is still too long, better long though than short.

I ordered these jeans in two colors, lights out and clouds rest. Lights out had the rise that I expected, but clouds rest was MUCH lower - much more like a low rise. These jeans are true to size but do stretch out during the day. Once my lights out pair stretches out, the waist begins to fall and I'll have an awkward zipper/crotch problem. They don't stretch enough to be able to go to a lower size though.
For day to day running around, these jeans will be fine. For nicer things, I'll wear another pair.

These jeans are a disappointment. Thus is not a reflection on Zappos, rather it is Levis who are cutting corners and no longer have the quality or quality control some of us learned to expect from them in the 60's. First the 515 are not the "style" quality of the 512 boot cut perfectly slimming jeans.. But, Zappos never seems to have them in a 10 or 12 any more. Second the quality of the fabric is inconsistent. Third it is very difficult to tell the color blue from the on line catalogue. I am probably going to switch to another brand or buy my jeans in a store in the future.

Levi's quality control has just gone out the window. The fabric is thin, the pockets are shallow and the fit is awful on this jean. Bought 3 pairs with slightly different washes...all fabrics were thin and pockets shallow. Two pair fit just fine. The third fit was just off. The bad fit was manufactured in Egypt and the other two were manufactured in Mexico. The same style jeans I purchased a couple of years ago had the same problems with fabric and pocket depth and were made in China. Would that Levi's were still made in the USA with the past quality. Maybe I'll try a men's Levi and see if they are better. Still love the Levi's style.

I kept them, but only because I really needed a inexpensive jean for work. I have bought the 515 for years and every time I do they get cheaper and cheaper in the construction and this time they have a stench about them I cannot get rid of and I've washed them twice now! It will be the last time I buy these.

I've worn Levis 515 jeans for quite a while and just love then, but these didn't stack up quite as well. I order mine online because I am 5 feet tall and need the short version. I lost 15 pounds and needed to go down a size, so I ordered the vintage frost with steel stitch. They just are not as comfortable. They don't have the give when I bend over and pick up something off the floor. They also came with an unattractive flaw on the leg. I wish I'd sent them back before wearing them.

I had previously purchased a pair of these at Kohl's but have lost weight and wanted another pair in my new size. I really liked the fit on the bigger pair but when these arrived they were weird. The waist was high (above my belly button) and tight and the legs were really loose. Too bad but these are going back.

I LOVE this pair of jeans! They are cut just right for me and very comfortable, as a matter of fact, after I write this review, I'm going to order another pair (and I'm 63).

I bought a pair of 515s somewhere along the way, and after a few years it was time for a new pair. The boot cut fits my wider calf comfortably. I ordered the same size and length as my previous pair in a few different colors (14M) and am very pleased with all of them.
