The coffee leaks out between the pot and the plastic rim making a mess everytime you pour. The swing door for the coffee filter eventually opens by itself randomly. It turns the hotplate off automatically before you can even finish a pot of coffee. After ordering a direct replacement pot found it was different than the original and wasn't tall enough to trip the checkvalve. Boy was that first pot a mess. Had to take the checkvalve out to make it work. very diappointed. Never aKitchenaid again.

We love our new Kitchen Aid Coffeemaker! Make's a full pot of coffee in minutes. We just had a Christmas Party and it was awesome. Everyone enjoyed coffee with no waiting time. Perfect cup of filtered coffee every time and so easy to clean!

I have had a number of coffee makers, this one is easy for me to use and makes very good coffee. It also looks great on the countertop. Don't plan on placing it under a cabinet - the top flips open for filling. I would give it five stars if it had more durable construction. On the plus side, it does have the one-year KitcheAid warranty. A good buy and worth the price in my opinion.

Of all the coffee makers I could have purchased, I purchased this one for a Christmas present. The coffee maker is great but the coffee pot leaks puddles from the top of the rim every time we pour it. Our previous coffee maker was a Mr. Coffee in which we had for 2 plus years, and never had that problem. We just wanted a 14 cup pot because we are big coffee drinkers.

I really like this coffee pot. The styling matches other Kitchenaid appliances in my kitchen, and the removable water reservoir is a great feature. The Teflon coating on the hot pad significantly deteriorated after three years of daily use. In looking at the new version of this coffee pot, I did not care for the filter basket as well, so decided to replace my old one with an exact match. Fortunately, Zappos had the old version still available. Hurray for Zappos. I would highly recommend this product. Be aware, however, that the hotplate will look talky after much use. Other reviews have noted a similar experience.

This is a potentially great coffee maker - it really makes good tasting coffee. I will never be able to go back to the old "cheaper" coffee makers like I used to buy; the coffee from this machine is really that good. I have the glass carafe & I have not had problems pouring, etc. like some reviewers, but after 3 years of ownership [right after the warranty expired] I do have issues with the water leaking out the bottom from the water reservoir before the pot is completely brewed. It seems to be leaking out by one of the feet. A few months ago it was just a problem if I wanted to put water in the night before and set timer - half the water would slowly leak out the bottom over night. Now it starts leaking out right away & gets all over the counter while the pot is brewing & I will need to replace soon. I am going to order the other (newer?) model KCM1402 and see if they have improved the issues with this one. I really love this coffee pot, it looks fantastic, makes up to 14 cups (necessary for large families) and the quality of the coffee can't be beat, but I would try the newer model instead of this one.

I am a bit disappointed with this coffee maker specifically because it is a KitchenAid brand, and they are supposed to be the "Best of the Best". I purchased this coffee maker from hhgregg 2 months ago only to return the first one because the LED light on the timer burnt out half of the numbers. They returned it and gave us a new one. A few weeks after owning the second coffee maker, I noticed it was leaking on my counter each time I poured a cup of coffee. After reviewing others reviews, I see it is not just my machine. I will definitely return this and purchase something that is not as expensive because the product is NOT worth the money or the KitchenAid brand name, in my opinion!

Had the same problem as another reviewer with the coffee spilling out between the glass and the plastic rim. One morning the rim just completely pulled away from the glass pot and spilled coffee everywhere. Also it has a bad design for pouring the water. Lid is not large enough not to spill water everywhere. And, last but not least, the door that holds the grounds in will not close after about 2 months as already stated by another reviewer. It just permanently stays open, very annoying. Never again.

This is the worst coffee maker that I have ever used. I would have not given any stars because its overall function is a zero. I regret investing in it but at the time focused on the name "kitchenAid." It is very disappointing to say the least!

The carafe leaks as you pour it after a short time of use. KitchenAid replaced it, and the new carafe leaked after a short time. The coffeemaker looks good, makes 14 cups which is nice but the carafe does not hold up. BTW I hand washed it.

Do not purchase this. The pot leaks, the black burner is peeling. It is only three months old. I am very disappointed and I will not purchase this brand again. They did not want to provide a warranty for me.

I had an old KitchenAid coffeemaker I loved. It became time to replace it and this was the only model I found that was similar to my old one. It was not the same at all. It leaks often which is troubling but the most annoying quirk it that the front Swing door won't stay closed. It pops open for no reason. This will happen 10 times a day. This is a poorly made product and I would avoid purchasing it.
