I have worn my boots about 5 times now and it took about 3 all day wearings to get them broken in. I was getting worried my heels would always be sore, but the boots finally broke in. I read the other comments and worried about the size. I wear a 6, ordered a 6, and they are about right, if a little on the small size.

These boots are great - comfy and stylishly different. I got the Stonewashed Stone color which is 2 tone black and cream/stone and they are so cool looking. I've gotten many compliments. If you have any extra stone stonewash leather sitting around and want to make me a Harvest Tote, I'll take one!!! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of crazy heel slippage. I don't mind too much because it's a boot and the boot shaft keeps them on your feet. If they were regular shoes, they would come completely off your foot. So it would be better if there was little or no heel slippage.

I have been dying for these!!!! They are great to throw on with anything. Leggings, jeans, I would even where them with shorts!

I rated them a 4 star because I have high hopes for them. I'm usually a 6 1/2 but being a boot I tried on a taupe/gray softer leather color in a size 7 and it was nice and roomy but I didn't care for the light color or the sole. So I purchased the Dark Brown distressed in a 7 without trying them on. When I got them home I couldn't get my foot inside so I exchanged them for a 7 1/2. The 7 1/2 is tight across the width so I'm wearing them daily hoping to stretch them because they're beautiful. I have a wider foot and found that most of the Frye styles that were carried at the store I purchased them are far too narrow.

I ordered these last week after eye-ing them for a couple months. These are absolutely beautiful and way more comfortable than I expected. I originally ordered a 9 since that's what my Melissa Button Frye's are, but when they came they were a tad too big. Exchanged for the 8.5 and they are perfect. My heel slips a tad, but this is my first day wearing them. I know they are only going to get more comfortable with each wear.

I waited a a couple of months to write my review. Like others have noted, my heels slipped up and down and in these and I wasnʻt sure they would work. But, after trying several types of socks (thinner, thicker), I finally found some that made these boots wearable. I donʻt think Iʻd wear these for long walks, but for normal daily wear theyʻre quite comfortable. And so, so great looking. They go with pretty much every outfit I wear.

Absolutely beautiful boot. Finish is "aged" in a way that no other brand seems to get right. They manage to be slouchy and still feminine. High quality materials. Returning because they feel a full size smaller than marked. Boot is very stiff through the outsole and moderately stiff in the vamp, but that is more a matter of preference.

Loved the smell as I opened the box. Beautiful color, baby soft leather. I wanted a toe box more square and didn't really realized this boot was not quite that. I live in Danskos in the winter. Maybe I'm not meant for boots. I felt like I was walking in snow boots;with the back heel rubbing. I did order up a size, but I think if I ordered correct size I would have had toe issues.

I've been wanting these boots FOREVER... I finally went for it! They are really cute in person but the quality doesn't seem to be what it used to be 10 - 15 years ago. The leather is very stiff and the sole is separated where the rubber and leather meet... I don't think the old style soles did that. Also the first time I wore them out I got HUGE blisters on both heels... I was in pain and hobbling around (quite embarrassing). I can see these are going to take some time to break in but they will be worth the pain and suffering. ;)

I like this boot, though in person it is not as distressed as it appears in the photograph. Rubs a little bit on my right ankle, but they're still new. They seem well constructed and I think they'll last a long time. Sole is plenty thick and rugged...maybe also a little on the 'heavy' side.

I just bought these Veronica Short boots and the Jenna Disc Short, and I am struggling to decide which to keep. They are both incredibly beautiful and I am frankly tempted to keep them both (though I will not because I really cannot afford them both at the moment). The shaft of these boots are a bit narrower than the Jenna boots. I bring this up only because I have short legs that are muscular/thick and it can be a struggle to find boots that fit properly. These definitely fit, but there is not a lot of extra room for jeans/pants, etc. I am just shy of 5'4" and I have shorter legs, so the top of the shaft hits me just where my calfs start to become wider - which is perfect to avoid the trouble area. I am so impressed with the finish on these boots. I purchased the Dark Brown Stone Antique and I love that they have a kind of lived-in look. The leather is soft, sturdy, and feels great. One other difference I noted between these and the Jennas specifically is that the heel seems to slip quite a bit on the Veronicas. It could be that they are just a tad large, but I am not sure if I would want to try out the half size down. Typically, I wear a 7½-8 in shoes (not Frye specific), and I bought an 8½ in these so I could wear thick socks. Even with thick socks, I think that I could have gone with the 8 and been just fine. My feet are about a C width (so just slightly wide of average), and these fit just fine. As for arch support, it feels just slightly less than average. I have slightly high arches, so I may (if I keep them) end up sticking some arch support in them. I also like that there is a bit of traction on the soles of these versus the Veronica boots which do not. Overall, I am impressed with these boots and would say they are worth a try if you are in the market for this style.

I just received my pair of Veronica Short's in the Glazed Vintage leather. I did not buy this pair from Zappos but felt I needed to write a review for this boot. I typically wear a 10 in a shoe that requires a sock, but my last pair of Frye's I went down to a 9 1/2 so I did the same with the Veronica's. The shoe is stiff in the toe box almost like it's a steel toed shoe. But still comfortable. The heel is huge and slips terribly. But the geniuses at Frye must have figured this out and that is why they put a functioning buckle over the instep of the shoe. Tighten the buckle just one notch and it will push your heel back in the boots, problem solved! I'm so happy as I thought I was going to have to return them. Love Frye boots!

I am really happy so far with these boots. Although they looked more supple in the photo than these actually are, perhaps that comes with time and wear. I find Frye boots to always be just slightly narrow for me. It is not enough to return them, but again with wear I am hoping this relaxes.

I ordered a size larger, should have ordered a size smaller. Heel was much too wide. They are beautiful though and smell wonderful. I am returning them, because of the heel being much too wide for my foot.

I like them. I don't love them. For the price, they should be more comfortable out of the box. There is a stiff part in the heel that is annoying, at first it feels as if it will rub your heel off but never does. Yet, still annoying!

These are really stylish, versatile boots that go well with just about any outfit. The only thing is that the size is slightly off. I am normally a size 7, but these size 7 boots feel more like a 6½ to me; still wearable, but they are just more snug than I would like them to be. It is odd because the product info and reviews said that these boots run true to size. Maybe it is just me? I would recommend getting them half a size bigger than your usual.

These boots are the real deal. Made of very high quality leather, they look and feel substantial. I have mostly worn them around my house to get a sense of them and break them in a bit. One thing to note is the bottoms are very slick. They will need some concrete time to break in. The toe box is a bit tight but are already stretching out a little. On the flip side, the heel is slightly large so there is some slippage but wearing a thicker sock can solve that. I would say sizing is dead on. I wear a 7.5-8 and I purchased an 8 in these and they fit great. Plus the leather will give a little over time so they will only get better in fit. Easy to get in and out of and look darn good with my favorite jeans tucked in or out. They cost a bit more than your average boots but it's an investment and should last forever.

Very small. I’m always, always a size 7 and I’m exchanging them for a size 8(!). Hopefully that does the trick! Thin leather and rather stiff feel all over but very cute so I’m going to give them another try.

I wanted to like these but they pinched my toes and then were too wide in the calves. I usually wear a 7 and then put my insoles inside for comfort..La Artiste by Spring Step, Dr. Martens, and Sorel all work well with this behavior; however, this is the second pair of Frye's I have returned due to lack of comfort with this solution. Everyone raves about Frye but I think I am done.

I really want to wear this boot, but it's really for folks with average to narrow feet I wear a C width and it's a no-go

I don't like arch support so that's not an issue for me. I'd rather the soles be flexible. I do like enough room for my toes to be able to flex and not be squished together. That's why I order up to a 9 when an 8.5 is my size in dress shoes, because nine with a srap around the heels will usually be too long in a 9. So I avoid pointy shoes unless the sling-back strap is adjustable. In rider boots, I like a roomy toe box and I want to be able to flex my toes, and for them to not touch the front of my boots and not be feel squeezed between the inner souls and the tops of the boots.
This model of Fryes (I have only owned Harley riding boots) was very tight in a 9 even though I tried it on barefoot. Hum. Not sure if I want to try a 9.5.
The other thing about this boot that I don't like is that the leather shafts are on the thinner side of leather. I ride. I want full grain strong leather boots. Not just cute. Performance boots that will save my hide.

I purchased the Veronica Short in the Stone Color. The show itself is beautiful. I also purchased the Veronica Short in Black and Redwood. However, the stone color was almost a 1/4 size too small. When I placed the heel of stone color shoe over the heel of the black ones - there was clearly a visible difference in the width and length of the shoe. The black ones fit perfectly without issue. I have a somewhat wide foot and wear a 9.5 size and the black ones are comfortable without issue. The Stone color ones were too tight and for that reason I’ll be returning them.

These boots are beautiful to look at. I own other Frye boots so I believe that all sizes for a company as established as Frye should fit almost the same across the board, especially at the price mark of Frye. The Veronica Short I received felt an entire size too small and I am very steady with the shoe/boot size I wear everywhere so this seems like poor quality control to end up with something so off on sizing. For the price we pay for Frye, it should be top notch quality AND quality control. Unfortunately, they must be returned.
