I just received the shoes yesterday. I've now walked 16 miles in two days. I'm 6'6" and 300lbs and I found these shoes to be the most comfortable of all my others. I have knee pain every day, but noticed after my last two walks it was not as bad as it has been. Not my norm in styling, but probably will be till Spira new styles come out. And, yes, you can feel the springs in action. That's cool for a man my size! I'm very hopeful that they hold up for a lot miles.

Very comfortable! I have flat feet and have suffered pain when walking and running. I've used orthotics for a years, but couldn't find the right sneaker for optimal normal exercise. Spiras have been the answer. Spiras coupled with my orthotics have ended the pain in my hips, knees, ankles etc. Walking and running is comfortable now. The price tag is more expensive than most shoes, but the price difference is really worth it with the comfort and satisfaction you'll feel. Don't buy on the cheap when it comes to your feet. I've made that mistake too many times. These are well made, offer great support, and will last several years doing normal walking outdoors, treadmill and elliptical exercise. As a last heads up, if you use orthotics, be sure to buy a size up from your normal foot-size for best fit and comfort.

These shoes are great for an overpronator like me. They give great support in a stylish (if not over the top) shoe. I work out hard and these shoes keep my feet comfy. They break in very easily; and my feet don't feel achy after the workout. I highly recommend them.

I'm an over pronator and normally use Brooks Addiction for stability but over the course of the workout my feet ached. I work out 4 or 5 times a week so put a beating on my shoes. Spira was new to me so I thought I would give it a shot. These shoes feel great. I can do a full workout and my feet don't feel achy and tired. I find them very comfortable. My feet don't feel hot as they are nicely ventilated. I've used them heavily over the past month and they have been holding up fine so far.

Whether you are a competitor or just someone who wants to live longer and better by jogging, there is no better shoe on the market. Maybe it doesn't have the name recognition, but it's got what it takes.

Very comfortable, I have used Spiras for years. Out of the box, I ran 5 miles with no problems. Speedy shipping, too.

I have worn only Spira spring technology shoes for the last five years. They take away the knee pain. The industrial springs really work. I think they are ugly but they work. Walking pain free is worth it. The top material is too thin and wears fast. Not limping in pain is worth it. The outer sole edges can peel up and then rub making squeaky sounds. The springs can sometimes click. The squeak or click is a better sound then me saying ouch! Spira can improve the style, fabric material, leather, rubber, and glue. I hope they do soon. However, even if they do not, being fully pain free makes these shoes the only option. No matter how many I wear out, I will just keeping buying them and moving about. Pain free. Of course, Zappos' service is amazing.

I wrote a review the second day I had these shoes. I still love the shoe for the comfort, but one of the shoes has developed a squeak. Now maybe it's because I'm 6'6" and 300lbs and they are just screaming for me to get off them. I've put right at 60 miles on them now. They have truly helped with my daily knee pain which is a HUGE benefit for me. The squeak just makes it where I want wear the shoe for casual use. I will probably buy another pair when the time comes and hopefully they will be squeakless!

These are very comfortable. I am a walker 200+. They are very well ventilated and that can be a issue in cold weather. I have plantar fasciitis. I tried to use my inserts but experienced heel slip. This has also been an issue with NB. I have been able to use them without my insert with no issues. I find them similar to my Brooks Ravenna but only time will tell on how they hold up. I have no issues with my Brooks inserts with heel slip. Pleased so far with the Spira.

My expectations were very high after reading various reviews on these shoes so I ordered a pair. After I got them and tried them on for a while, I wasn't all that impressed. My Brooks Trance 11's or Beasts are more comfortable to me.

Before buying these I was in a pair of Brooks Addiction 10's which are in the same price range. Wish I would have ordered another pair instead of these. Unboxing - they are very light weight, constructed to provide great air flow. My first impression after putting them on was "roomy." I got a size 10 wide. They fit true to size in length and seemingly in width, but not height...they are snug around my heel up my ankle but the rest of the shoe felt like I was swimming in it. After a little work I got the fit I was looking for by combining two slip in insoles. One insole is a heel to arch type the other was just a normal full size. But the two insoles raised my heel too much and was causing slipping so I chopped the heel off the full size right at where the heel starts. That gave me the snug second skin like fit I was looking for. So, in my opinion...this shoe does not fit in this price range, it's just not a "Brooks"or a "New Balance" type fit you'd expect from a shoe in this price range.

The toe box is roomier than brands like Nike but the rest of the shoe is too wide for my feet. The midsection was OK but the heel area was way too big. My feet went numb from the arch forward and balls of feet felt like they were hitting on hard concrete. I normally wear a 9½ and my toes were in the right place but the extra width and extra wide heel area meant a lot of slippage.

Spira has always been overpriced for what your get. Nonetheless have had 4 pairs now over 3 years as a heavier mostly daily walker. Cushioning is about as good as anything I've found but the inner liners all wear out exceptionally fast and uppers provide very little side to side stability. Actually found the Stinger to hold up better than the Scorpius although the Scorpius provides better long-term cushioning. The spring technology is a great idea but is not really of significant advantage for someone of my age and weight while the rest of the shoe build around the springs seem almost an afterthought of moderate quality. Am even debating about getting another pair right now or go with Asics which has always been fairly reliable.

I like the comfort and ventilation of running shoes so I got the all black Scorpius for casual wear in public and to get away with wearing at my desk job. I have not used this shoe for running. Initially I was very pleased with the comfort and appearance but 8 months after purchase the sole has started to peel away on the edges. Far worse though is the squeak that has developed. It is bad enough that I feel like a practical joke is being played on me with every step I take. I will no longer be able to wear this shoe in public. Given that I specifically purchased these shoes for low wear use I wonder how well the shoes would have held up had I actually used it for running. If I had to listen to that squeak for every step of a distance race, I think I would go nuts.

My order arrived September 17, 2014. By January 13, 2015 both linings and fabric at the back of the shoe has worn through. There is a hole about the size of a nickel. The white plastic pieces at the heel are showing and dig into my heel as a walk. And I wear these comfortable shoes only a few hours a day. I don't use them for running or exercise walking. I switched from one of the biggest-name brands just to try a different brand, but I have never had any shoe ever become unwearable so soon.
