Great shoe for those who are fans of the barefoot movement. I wanted a shoe that didn't look so athletic or tennis shoe driven (like the Merrell Trail Glove and NB Minimus) but that still had the barefoot feel. These shoes fit the bill perfectly. Really nice looking with jeans and the aggressive tread pattern makes them incredibly useful outdoors. Toe box is nice and wide, and they fit true to size. I'll definitely be buying shoes from this company in the future as the quality seems top notch.

I wore these for an entire day when I first bought them to break them in. After 10 minutes, I realized these shoes rocked. They are very comfortable, light weight and contour to the foot appropriately. They are not skin tight like other minimalist shoes, which allows the foot to breathe and your toes to move freely. Overall, a solid shoe.

Perfect for sloppy November/December trails in Pittsburgh! No slipping! Maintains good ground feel even with aggressive tread. Very water resistant as well. I wear Vibram KSO's all spring through fall and needed something for winter. These met my needs perfectly and my feet stay dry!

A really great barefoot shoe. The lugs will work great for the trails and the size and width seem to be right on.

Originally ordered the mid top trail from Vivobarefoot. Didn't fit my ankle well so I wanted to return the mid shoes for these lower Neo Trails. Called customer service and got an incredibly friendly women on the phone. Instead of asking me to send back the return shoes before shipping the new ones, they are express mailing me the new ones (going on a trip), and letting me print out a return slip and sending the return shoes back in the next two weeks. Wow, is this company for real! Kudos to the company and to the customer service department. What a refreshing experience to deal with this company. Expected to hang up the phone frustrated, but instead this person made my night! Now kudos to these shoes. I already have 1 pair of Vivo's. Was having a lot of problems with my feet, and got more and more supportive shoes when what I needed was less support. Wear these with Comfort Toes and these shoes make my feet feel great. Less foot feedback than other Vivo's with the taller tread, but same comfort, and it keeps me from wearing my other Vivo's 24/7. New motto is less is more!

I have been in minimalist shoes for over a year and a half. These are the best off road shoes I have found. They have a great outsole with excellent traction, I used them for the first time on a trail with snow and dirt. Not only did I have great traction but I was able to have dry feet! I did not think that they would be this water resistant but they held up on a 3 mile water falls hike. Also extremely comfortable. I highly recommend these. Fit is true. Just measure your foot in cm. Arch support is great but a barefoot hiker will have a strong arch to begin with. Support is not a problem.

Definitely order 1 size up from your regular shoe size. Right where upper bends when you step, on my normal size, the crease impinges on my little toe. One size up works great. Very comfortable and feels secure on my foot even though "loose" in a way, much like being barefoot but protected. I am not an experienced "barefoot" shoe wearer so I have no comparison for ground feel but this shoe lets me know if I am landing on my heel clearly enough that even walking on pavement it encourages a more mid foot or forefoot impact. Looks good too, not like some mutant outer space hippie shoe but pretty much like a regular trail shoe/runner.

These are great shoes! I wish Vivo made US half sizes. The traction is awesome. Breatability is good. It is almost like wearing nothing. I would have preferred a 9½, but since they only offer half sizes, I went with a 10 over the 9. I am still transitioning from my New Balance Minimus (which also rock). The Neo Trails are comfortable, well constructed and fend off moisture well. They are also grippy. There is zero drop with plenty of toe box space to allow the toes to do their thing without being super constrained or unruly.

Great shoe, my favorite I've ever run in. The shape of the footbed is perfect -- nice wide toe box and securely-fitting heel. The sole is intentionally thin and really forces you to run in a barefoot-style. I've been trying to do this in my "regular" running shoes, but with these on, I realized how much I was still just slapping my foot down. The tread is great -- I was running on grass and mud and felt really secure. A 42 is usually slightly too large for me, but this 42 fit perfectly.

Item was sent to wrong address partly my fault. Zappos immediately sent a new order overnight to my correct address, you just don't see customer service like this anymore. I will always order online with Zappos because of the customer service. The shoes were perfect. Thank you Zappos.

I've been trail running in minimalist shoes for 3 years and was looking for a shoe that wasn't all open mesh and had good traction for the wet winter months. Well, I definitely found it in the Neo Trail. Awesome traction on the sloppy trails, and the uppers shed water pretty darn well. My only complaint is that they run a little small, so if you're going to wear winter socks, order up a size.

My only, only problem with this shoe is that it is just too D**N small. I normally wear a size 13 in every other shoe that I own. So that is what I ordered. Got the shoe and it was a no go. Sent back and got the 14. Still to small! However, I wanted this shoe! So I wear this shoe all the time with everything but my toes do not appreciate it. When I wear with no socks it almost works. Other than that I really like the shoe. Looks great and goes with most looks.

I originally purchased the Merrell Tough Glove but they were too narrow for my feet and too tight on the toes. This shoe is perfect and the toe box is quite roomy.

This shoe is great. It's truly minimalistic. It feels more like a foot-glove than a shoe, due to its flexibility and complete lack of support. This is a good thing, as the feel walking in these without socks is almost that of being barefoot. You can feel every pebble on the ground, and movement feels natural. I would advise walking in these a lot before you run, to get used to the feeling of forefoot striding. These shoes are incredibly grippy, with a golf shoe-like level of cleating. On pavement you can feel the lugs on the sole pushing into your feet. I feel like the lugs would wear down after prolonged walking on pavement, but that's not really what these shoes are for. I got them as an all-around shoe, and they are stylish enough for the purpose, but they are really for the trail. Get them if you have short, wide feet like mine. I ordered a size 43 after returning a size 44 and it's perfect. For comparison, I wear a 9 wide in Chaco sandals. If you have narrow feet, you might have a hard time in these shoes because they are wonderfully wide. Due to their roomy fit, you might experience some rubbing that can cause blisters during prolonged walking. Thin socks help with this. These shoes are also very warm, meant for cold weather. If you're exercising in a place warmer than 60F most of the time, consider getting the Breatho Trail instead. The glued sole and synthetic materials make me worry about this shoe's long term durability. If I use it as my main pair, I can't see it lasting more than a year. Hopefully they will prove me wrong.

I have been running in VFF's for over a year, but I really like to run on trails. Here in Colorado, that means sharp granite rocks and tree roots. The VFF's don't have enough sole protection, and if you whack your toes on a root, you might as well be barefoot. I love my Neo Trails for running trails. They feel great and protect my feet. I will say that you should work into them gradually. I tried to do too much on my first run and strained a calf muscle. Also, contrary to some other reviews, mine are a tad large. I have wide feet and love the toe box.

I bought these as a more rugged alternatives to my Vibram Five Finger KSOs. I love the Vibrams, but I broke a toe hiking with them last year.I'm really impressed with the Vivobarefoot Neo Trail. While it doesn't have the individual toe compartments like the Vibrams, these still provide that barefoot feel. The sole is rugged enough for trails while still providing maximum sensation on the feet. The toe box felt a bit large when I initially put them on but, the more I wear them, the more it seems that it is just a different fit than I am used to. This shoe provides the perfect balance between a minimalist barefoot shoe and a trail hiker.

These are fantastic shoes! I have 2 other pairs in different colors, but I wanted the black for more discreet business wear. These are the best shoes I own for my feet: great toe room and comfy but snug heel. The most comfortable shoes I own are Vivobarefoot. (I wear socks with mine, by the way.)

These are the best shoes I have ever owned! Foot + Grip = Ninja potential. There is a learning curve in switching to barefoot, but it is well worth the discomfort. Yes, discomfort. Feet will be sore. I recommend following the VivoBarefoot.com training guide.

I love Vivobarefoot shoes! These shoes are super minimalist and super comfortable. They have lots of room for your toes. These are very grippy too and very nice for walking in snow. The grips seem to keep your feet of the ground which keeps your feet warmer.

I really like these shoes for both running and hiking. When I hike I add a heal cushion because of the rough trails I hike and the fact that I tend to heel strike when I walk. They are lite weight, look good and very sticky on the trail...great tread. Zappos, as always, was great. My shoes were delivered to my house the day after I ordered. How do they do that?

Great shoes! Totally on the mark size wise. I was concerned after reading other reviews that I should have ordered bigger, but even with thin ankle socks (I prefer to wear them), these runners fit perfect with plenty of room for my wide foot.

I was looking for a minimalist style shoe that I could run in, these shoes are awesome but not for running. The shoe fits great, nice and wide in the toe box and definitely a barefoot feel. Sadly though they are built for trails and have a stiff solid sole on them which just wouldn't work out for street running. For a day to day shoe these would be my number one pick. Very good looking as well, not too athletic, almost a skate shoe style of look.
