THEY STRETCH!!! You should know that - for me these shoes felt tight, especially in the toe box. The insole is very thick and I was concerned that they were too small, but I read elsewhere that they would stretch, and they did after only a day of wear. Now they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I wear them to work as a chef and I think these are the most attractive kitchen shoes I've found so far. They are also easier to walk in than Dansko clogs - I find that outside of the kitchen, I am prone to turning my ankle when wearing the clogs. These shoes are closer to the ground and feel more safe for my ankles.

I have never taken the time to write a review, but bought these shoes (plus two Alegria Paloma's) and I think I'm "sold" on Alegria. The Danya is a little loose, but I bought some heel grips & put some thin 1/2 soles in the front. I bought the red patent leather -- and they are so pretty. I call them my "Dorothy" shoes. The reason I am writing the review: I have had bilateral (both feet) plantar fasciitis for about 3 years. I teach, and am on my feet a lot. My sensitive feet coupled with fibromyalgia has stumped 2 podiatrists and an orthopod. I purchased from Zappos because of the free-shipping return policy. This was my first (but not last) purchase from Zappos. I have worn these for about a week-10 days, and I am amazed. My heels don't throb at the end of the day! (Only one time when I taught & then went shopping = extra time on my feet.) I am "cautiously" hopeful. (I don't want to "jinx" it!) The Palomas seem to tighten better, but I have been wearing the red to support teachers in a different district on strike (red being the color of support). The Daynas are less clunky than Palomas, but I love the variety in the patterns -- especially in Palomas. Just bought a shearling clog to wear around the house like slippers (to keep my arches their most happy). I had previously (for about 15 years) worn Mephistos with great success, but my feet must have changed over the years, because even Mephistos were not helping. I am most pleasantly surprised with Alegria, and I am truly 'alegria' (Spanish for joyous).

The Alegria Danya Professional is a great shoe. The size/width & arch are super comfortable. I have fun listening to people's comments about the look of the shoes. I own 4 pair of the Alegria Paloma and one of the Dayna and all the shoes are of the highest comfort. I am almost 70 yrs. young and love the look of all of my Alegria shoes. I'm very active, work at an elementary school and could not get through my days without my Alegria shoes. Also Zappo's has the best customer service! My daughter is a nurse and owns about 8 pair, she loves them all...

I bought both the Paloma and the Dayna to see which one I liked better because this is the first time I have strayed away from Dansko, I have to say this show has really good arch support but it felt very large, I wear a 40 in Dansko and I bought a 40 in both shoes, but the Dayne felt very big, my foot kept slipping out of the back, but the Paloma it fit perfect. I love the color of the Paloma so once again, appearance made my decision and I ended up sending the Dayna back.

These are comfortable with a cute twist on a Mary Jane. The bronze color works well with khakis or darker tans/browns. I normally wear an 8 (sometimes 7.5) and these fit great. Warning: I have narrow feet and these fit well -- so not sure they would work if you're feet are wide at all.

I love these shoes and I love the all day comfort they give. I can run in them...literally...to a code blue that is, and I am pretty fast in them. I am so addicted to this shoe that I can't even think of another I would even think about. Funny thing is a nurse told me about this shoe and it took forever, a year, plus my plantar fasciitis to hurt like like heck for me to buy them...but now I have 3 pair and I am so happy. Happy dance, happy dance! Just because I can. Ha! The Dayna is a little more snug than the Paloma and because I don't have wide feet I prefer these. I am thankful I have two Dayna's. Oh, and did I mention they are prettier in person The Paloma are for the wider foot, I think? The fit/size: Order in the Europe size of Dansko's, worked for me. I'm a size 40 in Dansko and the same in these. The bronze is true to light bronze in color. The black pat, is my fav!

I love these shoes! I work on my feet 12 hours a night and these never hurt my feet. They are a little narrow for my wide foot. If your foot is not regular and you usually order a wide size, you may find these a bit snug.

These are the best shoes I've ever worn! I'm a 54 year old big girl (300lbs) who is very active. As you might guess, I give my feet and legs a real work out when I'm on the go. These shoes have great support and the rocker bottom makes me glide instead of waddle! One of my coworkers weighs in at about 99 lbs soaking wet and she loves hers too! So big or small...if you're a gal on the go...these shoes are a great investment!

This is a super cute shoe! I have three pairs of the Paloma's, and needed just a bit of variety in style. they are slip resistant, so they have some stick. There is a comfort lip in the back. The only problem was that I went with a 38 because my Paloma's fit big (I normally wear a 39) and they were too small. Exchanging them for the larger size and all will be fine. So these actually feel true to size, but if you have the Paloma style you may want to order a size larger in the Dayna.

Super, super cute shoes. I wanted to love them so much as I started my new job as a floor nurse. However, the toe box was so very tight. My big toe and it's toe nail hurt. I walked around in them at home for a couple of weeks to see if they would loosen up. They did. I've worn them twice in the last two weeks. They were fine for the 8 hours but once I took them off, my big toes were complaining. Overall I'd give them a good review. I will caution you on the toe box tightness syndrome.

I decided I needed another pair of Alegria shoes and decided on the Dayna to see if I would like it even better than the Paloma ones I bought in the fall. I ordered the bronze patent because Zappos has that color on sale. I love the color; they are a fairly dark brown and very shiny and dressy-looking. The style also looked very nice on my foot. However, I have narrow heels and have to pull the strap very tight to keep the shoe from slipping too much. The angled strap on the Dayna hurt the top of my foot after a few minutes. When I loosened it a little, the shoes slipped up and down on my heel way too much (even with the mole foam padding I intended to stick in the heel to get it to fit better). I do not have this problem with the Paloma style, so I will need to return the Dayna and buy another pair of Paloma shoes. If you do not have narrow heels and thus do not need to pull the strap so tight, I recommend that you do try these. If they fit your foot, you will love the way they look and how they support your foot. My other Alegria shoes have been great for my plantar fasciitis.

These shoes are amazing! I work 12 hour shifts as a nurse and I have tried Danskos, Sanitas & running shoes. I can typically make it through an 8 hour shift without any issues in the other brands but if I work a 12 hour shift my feet and back are sore. A fellow nurse recommended the Alegrias so I figured I would give them a try, they are a dream! My back and feet do not hurt after a 12 hour shift. I wear a 40 in Dansko and Sanita clogs so I bought a 39 and 40 in the Alegrias and the 39 fit, the 40 was too big. That said, I have narrow, flat feet so that may have made the difference for me. Either way, I highly recommend these shoes.

I love these shoes. I work as a Med Tech so I am on my feet a great deal in the hospital laboratory. I already have the Paloma in Sangria Red Patent and they are very comfortable but I wanted the versatility of the brown leather. I can work a 12 hour shift in these and my feet are never hurting when I get home. I wear a 7 1/2 to an 8 in regular shoes and a 37 in Danskos. I had to get a 38 in these so they do run a bit small. You will have tons of toe room and lots of arch support, I'd recommend them to anyone who craves comfort.

I'm a former Dansko wearer. The Alegria shoe is much more comfortable in my toe area, where the Dansko's pinched and rubbed. I can easily wear this shoe for 12 hours and even find myself walking faster. It's not the most beautiful shoe, but I'm a convert when it comes to comfort.

This shoe is beautiful and the soles are terrific, but unfortunately I could not find my size. I found the shoe too narrow as well as too short. Why can't good quality shoes like these be made in additional sizes - like women's 11Wide/12 Wide?

Finally, a shoe that is going to work. Been a cosmetologist for 35 years and have had such a hard time finding shoes lately, but these are so cute and there are many to choose from. Thanks! I usually wear a 9 1/2 but got a 10 - more toe room.

I love the look and comfort of this shoe. The only thing that is a little uncomfortable (for only one of my feet) is that the metal ring where the strap folds back pushes in a little bit on the top of my foot. Other than that, I love these shoes!

As a nurse in a hospital, I have worn Dansko's and find that they are not so comfortable anymore. I switched to Alegria recently and found them to be better for my feet as well as the pressure on my back. The only problems I had with these shoes was that the strap area where it connects to the shoe, was pinching the area where you might have a bunion. I do not. I had to use a shoe stretcher with a bunion attachment to loosen up that area. Also, I usually wear an 8, but found the 38 to be at least a size too big. I kept the shoes anyway and just wear thick socks. After all the adjustments, the shoe is actually very comfortable.

I am completely disappointed! I have two of the classic Alegria and one sandal and they are my most comfortable shoes. Naturally I expected the same when I purchased the Dayna. Boy, was I wrong. While their other shoes are roomy, these are tight and restrictive and uncomfortable. I don't understand why the fit would change so drastically. Very sad about it. Can't return them because I've already worn them out thinking they'd be just fine.

I am 29 years old and I was extremely reluctant to purchase these shoes because they are not the pointy toe heels that I am used to. Having said that, I had a stress fracture in my second metatarsal and spend 5 weeks in a walking boot. At the end of the 5 weeks I was told to transition to a Dansko clog because it was a very stiff shoe that mimicked my walking boot. I have a extremely high arch and the clogs cut off the circulation and made my feet go numb. Even though Dansko offered a mary jane style that would allow me to fit my high-arched foot, I was not sold on the style or the comfort. They always seemed a big clunky and I did not like the way my heal slipped in the back even though that is the way they are supposed to fit. My podiatrist as an alternative recommend Alegria brand and told me that it was imperative that I buy a shoe like this because I needed to slowly reintroduce my once broken foot to walking. I am currently up to 1 hr on my feet with a 1 hr rest period. Let me tell you that these are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned. While they are not the most stylish, I can attest that these shoes are super comfortable and I really like the added height that these shoes provide. I can wear my dress pants that were once reserved for high heals without having to roll up the cuff. I have had people stop me in the street on multiple occasions asking me about my shoes. First I thought it was a joke, but this has happened to me too many times to count. The conversation goes a little like this: Wow, those are cute shoes and they look so comfortable. I explain that had a foot injury and the doctor recommend this brand. We then proceed to talk about the history of their foot injuries and the silly shoes they have been forced to wear. It ultimately ends up with them writing down the brand of the shoe and telling me that I have given them hope again in finding comfortable and stylish shoes. It has been almost a month in wearing these shoes and I can fit my orthotics in them which is the best part. I would recommend these shoes to anyone. Even though I was reluctant to purchase these shoes, I can honestly say that I am 100% happy with my purchase. They provide the most comfort I have ever felt in a shoe. Even though I cannot wait to wear my "normal" shoes again, I can see myself wearing these shoes a lot in the future. I am in between an 8.5 and a 9 and I got a size 39.

I discovered Alegria shoes after a long-term foot problem. An initial injury had set off a series of unfortunate events in my right foot. After months of increasing foot pain, I ended up in a post-operative wooden shoe. After 6 months in that wooden shoe, my foot felt well enough to go into a "regular" shoe, but only if it provided good support and did not allow my foot to bend too easily. That's how I discovered Alegrias. I had thought my foot would just continue to slowly heal with the possibility of surgery always looming over me. But, instead, after only one week in Alegrias, every bone in my foot began to move and adjust back into place. The nerves stopped being a problem and the pain has disappeared. I am so excited and thankful that I found these shoes. They have saved my foot from much pain and possible surgery. After this experience, I will always be a faithful Alegria customer. I would highly recommend the Alegrias. Especially to someone that may experience foot problems in life. As it is, I now own multiple pairs of the Alegrias and love them all!

I love these! I have a few pairs of Dansko's and I like these a lot better. The sole is not as high so I do not feel like I am going to fall like I do in my Dansko's. I wear these on a 12 hour shift and they are great feeling the entire time. Thanks to Zappos I got mine the day after I ordered them!
