Conceptually, it sounds like a great idea for a shoe: lightweight, waterproof and stylish. However, in reality this boot suffers a few key flaws. The first is the sizing, which I've found to be way big. It's difficult to get a snug fit also because the boot shaft is too large as well. I ended up not lacing them up all the way and wrapping the excess lace around the shaft to get a secure fit. The other biggie is breathability, or specifically the lack of it. Expect clammy, sweaty feet after about an hour of wearing these. Also, the footbed can get slippery as a result of the material used, which is why they put little nubs on the bottom. Sweaty feet might not be that big of an issue with some good wicking socks, but the lack of insulation compounds the problem in sub-freezing temperatures. Imagine walking around with cold, wet feet all day long and you'll get the idea. Wool socks are a must. This shoe is great for: - wearing around town if your city goes crazy with the salt when it snows, - spring/summer rain storms, -intense mud/bog-like conditions. This shoe is not good for: - any type of physical endeavor, - situations where you need warmth, - hiking.

Purchased these shoes after seeing my husband's. These shoes are ULTRA light that it's hard to believe their even boots.(think Crocs but way more fashionable.) I wore them in Chicago when it snowed (with wool socks of course.) I'm normally size 5.5 (woman), and the size 3 (men)/size 5 (woman) fit perfectly. The shoes are not very breathable...so if you tend to get sweaty feet, then these aren't for you.

I love these boots! These boots are comfortable and super light. Easy to clean and very stylish. Can't wait to get them in brown!

Love my Jimmy's! They compliment a lot of outfits so you can wear your rain boots and still look fashionable. Can be worn tied up and tight to the ankle (great for under pant legs) or loose and untied (great look for over skinny jeans). I receive compliments nearly every time I wear them from both women and men. Notable: Animal free (yay! vegan shoes), waterproof (yay! dry feet), washable and odor-resistant (yay! no smelly feet), microfleece (yay! no cold feet), shock absorbent (yay! comfy), & lightweight (yay! no trudging around in heavy, awkward rubber rain boots).

These run large. I bought a 10 and my 10.5 sneaker insoles fit into them perfectly. I wear them with either a sneaker insole+athletic socks or heavy cushioned hiking socks (without insoles). Without either of these, they would be way too loose.

I love these boots for the practicality. They are simple and easy to clean. Luckily this winter hasn't been bad and I haven't tried em out in the snow but i would recommend wool socks or extra layering for warmth. But they are great in the rain. I am a guy and haven't seen anyone else wear em but I get a lot of compliments for them.

Do not let the material and its construction discourage you! This is a great boot, it's different and having one in your closet won't hurt you at all. The rubber in the forefoot that wraps around the side keeps your feet nice and warm, it traps heat; I would say though that ventilation is therefore not that great. Like someone said before, this is like flip-flop for winter. The weight is also a plus, lightest thing on your feet.

When I pulled these boots out of the box I said "where are the boot liners?" There seemed to be nothing to these boots. The footbed was just simple and looked like a flipflop footbed. However, when I put them on and laced them up, they felt amazing! They are surprisingly warm and can accommodate a thick sock. Oh, and they are light! Definitely the lightest pair of footwear I have owned and that includes many pairs of sandals. I tell people they are my winter flip flops. Very happy with these.

I usually wear an 8.5 and got an 8. They are a bit loose but that's usually how boots are to accommodate thick socks. I would highly recommend buying a pair to wear with these boots as they lack a liner. I've been wearing them in MN and wore gym socks. I found a sore on the bottom of one of my toes from frost bite. Wear thick socks for freezing temps. I'm still really glad I got these. They are profoundly lighter than Sorels yet still keep snow and slush out just as well. They look great and I've gotten lots of compliments. One issue I had was with the heel seem of my right boot. It chaffed a little the first few days I wore them but has now stopped. Awesome boots, just remember they aren't winter ready.

Love this shoe and in in sole is so comfy. Because there is no half sizes I got the size 11 also to allow for thermal socks, but they still feel a little too big, Maybe I should have gotten a 10.

I love my native boots! In the winter, you need to double up on socks!

Before I received them I was very excited because this was the only company that I found that offered black duck boots for men. Two weeks after wearing them though my excitement dropped a bit. They're very light which I kind of like but upper part is made of canvas which is durable yet flexible (the problem) and the leather strip in the back bends with your leg. Which has led my boot to have a permanent bend and permanently buckle out mid way up the boot. It's not the end of the world because it's always up under my pants but it just bugs me knowing I paid so much for them and they did that in 2 weeks. Other than that issue I like them.

I just wanted to add that I had no problem with the shaft of the boot being too wide or tightening the boot. This could be a problem in larger sizes as the boots are unisex, but it was fine for me and I have been told that by ski boot guys that I have skinny legs.

I think reports of this shoe being large are exaggerated, or maybe I have weird feet. I usually wear a size 6, occasionally a 6.5 or 5.5 but mostly a straight 6 except in classic Crocs or Doc Marten's. Since those shoes run wide in the toe box I can get into my "true size" or ski boot size. In boys shoes I also wear a 3. I ordered the size 5 based on reports this shoe ran large, but there was no way. Way too tight and a little short for big socks. I ordered a six and I'm happy with it. It is a bit loose in the heel, but my heels are narrow. I lucked out too as I really wanted the black that wasn't available in a size 5. I I haven't tried the shoes outside yet but they are very light. I am unsure about the tread on icy surfaces, but I have a pair of logger' s for that. I have high hopes for these "duck boot" style shoes in rain and slush!

I bought these after ordering 4 different pars to look at anticipating rains this year in S.B Ca I like the light weight and looks. Also they feel very comfortable with wool socks on.

OMG like walking on air! These must weigh ounces a piece. Its like owning a Croc with a nylon upper. The tongue of the shoe is sewn to the sides so water doesn't leak through. I have large calves and large ankles and these fit but are snug (size 9 mens/11 womens) However I want more colors please bring them back.

Needed some waterproof boots for an upcoming Midwestern fall/winter so I decided to take a chance on these. Like the other reviews, I was shocked to see how light they are. Think of the as the duck boot version of the Nike Roshe Run. Same initial smell and same EVA feeling. The boot is about .5-1 size too big so I added an extra insole and it fits perfect now. This is probably the most masculine rain boot you can find, so it's perfect for rainy days. I look forward to rainy days actually so I can break out these and my rain jacket. I know I sound like a sorority girl with her Hunter boots, but it's really nice to have a quality waterproof boot available for a guy. There is little insulation tho, so I'm not sure how this will fare in freezing temps.

I ordered these shoes and was surprised at how cute they were for rain boots - unfortunately they were way too big for my sister who wear's a size 6 shoe and too small for me - I usually wear 6.5-7. I had to return them and I don't think there's a chance the women's 7 will fit since reviews say they run large.

I bought these shoes as a stylish alternative to the other duck boots out there. I like them a lot but I've stopped wearing them. They get really sweaty because there is no ventilation and taking them off has been a pain. They look nice and feel comfy, but I just do not like how sweaty my feet gets in them.

Fits loosely, mostly at the top and the laces are way too long. People love the way they look, but after a short period of time they leaked. Even towards the bottom, where they should not. I thought, they were waterproof all the way to the top. I am returning them.

The shoes were amazingly light. Many of my friends commented on the looks. I recommended Zappos to all my friends. They are to loose at the tops and laces to long. Today I stepped in a small stream that came up, just past the sole (white line) and immediately felt like there was dampness in my thick socks.

I want to love these boots, but the fit is so strange for me. I've been looking for a good pair of waterproof boots and these are so close to being the ones! They're really cute, super light, animal-free (vegan here), and decently comfy. But I just cannot get the fit right! I wear an 8-8.5 depending on the shoe, and have wide-ish feet. I ordered an 8 (women's) first, and my toes just about hit the front of the boots. They'd never work with thick socks. So I exchanged them for a 9, and while the toe portion fits better, now the heel is super loose and slips around with every step. That's a one-way ticket to Blisterville, and for the price I just can't abide that. So sadly both sizes will be going back. Native - please make half sizes!

These boots are good for their intended purpose of keeping water out. However, they do not have a great grip in slippery situations, like snow and ice (I have fallen in them twice now), and they are not the warmest. They are lightweight, which is good. Only other things is that these are not an easy on, easy off kind of boot. You have to take time to fully lace them up and tie them tight (and even then, the ankle is loose), but take off, you have to fully loosen most of the lacing. So, good in some areas, but others could use some improvement.
