This is a great trail running shoe. I've also hiked 14ers in them. They fit great right out of the box and are lightweight. I wear a 7.5 and usually go up a half size on running and trail shoes...no need on this one. It runs a little big. I did slip a little padding under the forefoot area for trail running comfort. They may need to beef up the insole some. Overall an amazing shoe!

Wow, this is a amazing shoe. I am a size 9 but found this shoe to run a little bit large so I returned them for an 8 1/2 and they fit like a glove. I was concerned that this shoe was going to be to aggressive for me since I just started trail running but I am so happy with them. I ran over large, small & everything in between gravel, dirt, leaves, mud, rock and these shoes kept my foot very stable. They also did not have any hot spots or pressure points nor did the laces loosen or move like some of my other specific training shoes I own. If only all my others felt as good as these, I would be in heaven. If your looking for this shoe to specifically trail run I highly recommend.

For you adventure types I am sorry I can't provide a review. I hurt my foot and my Podiatrist recommended these. Not a fan of the style or color but would have paid twice as much to be able to walk pain free and these are perfect. So far I have only worn them to walk my dog but they are awesome for problem feet. Light weight, lots of cushion. Big toe box, perfect for bunions or arthritis in feet. No I would have never chosen them and I don't think I am Soloman's demographic but I am so glad I followed my podiatrist advice. These shoes are amazing!

I love the shoes. I have trail ran in the West Coast’s dry sandy conditions as well as the Northeast’s wet, muddy, rooty conditions and the grip is great. I also wear them around town and they are light and comfortable but the tread is a bit aggressive. I wear size 8 and my road running shoes are size 9. I ordered 8.5 and it's a good fit.

I purchased these shoes for running in the sleet and snow in Chicago winters - they are great - no leaking, no slipping and very comfortable!

I absolutely love these shoes! I am already on my third pair. They provide great traction on rock, mud and snow up and downhill. The closest to a minimalist running shoe without compromising cushioning in the heel for steep downhills. You can wrap your feet around the trail for great footing.

These are hands down the best pair of running shoes that I have ever purchased. This is my third pair of this brand to be exact. The quality cannot even come close with other brands. The design is sleek and there is no need to buy insoles as they are quality and so very comfortable. I love these shoes and will continue to buy them in the future. These run true to size.

Perfect shoes! Great traction, good arch support, very warm, cool looking, and best of all no messing with shoe laces, just slip on. Very comfortable and worth the money.

Love these shoes! So stylish, super lightweight, comfortable and fits great. I hike, run, spend all day in them and my feet don't feel tired at all. I am usually very picky about my shoes, and after reading the others reviews, I decided to purchase Salomons, no regrets, they are excellent. After seeing my pair, my husband also, ordered Men Salomons for himself. Zappos, is great as always, super fast shipping!

Wow, these are amazing! I have narrow feet and dread looking for shoes. I have been reading reviews for hiking shoes online for weeks trying to find a good fit for me. I also wanted an attractive shoe that I felt pretty in since I would be wearing it around for causal wear on my vacation. I decided to try these after reading such good reviews. They are the most comfortable running shoe I have ever worn! The tread is also very very good. The quick laces took some getting used to but I think I will really like them. I might treat myself to the blue or green pair next. I plan on wearing them on a trip to Alaska and using them for my trail runs. A fabulous find! I purchased a 9 and usually wear a 9.5 in running shoes. Dress shoe size 8.

Zappos shipping is unbelievably fast. I ordered at 8pm and had my shoes by 1:45 the following afternoon. These shoes are so comfortable and worth every penny. I wanted a shoe that had more traction for snow and more warmth than most of the shoes that are out now with mesh. I have Nike AirMax and thought that those were the most comfortable shoes until I got these. Very, very comfortable. I have wide feet and a very high instep and these feel great. Worth every penny.

I absolutely love these shoes. I got these to replace a pair of Sketchers that I got and did not like. These are sturdy yet lightweight. I wear them for winter walks with my dog! They are great and they look great too!

These shoes have awesome grip on loose ground way better than any other trail shoe I have had. They are a comfortable fit but in my opinion and that of my husband who owns a pair - they need a little more cushion in the front of the shoe for comfort if you want to wear them for an hour or more.

I have several pairs of Solomon sneakers. All run about one size larger than I'd usually buy. I really appreciate the lightness of this shoe. The color (purple) is really sharp and I've gotten numerous compliments. I am an avid road runner, but I would not wear these sneakers running because they are too rugged for the street.

Shoes are warm, comfortable and good soles for running in the snow. The shoes are very heavy though, so if you are looking for something light these are not it. They are also wider than I like.

These shoes have the best traction ever! I can wear these in icy conditions with confidence. I normally wear a size 6 but, in Salomon I wear a 5.5. I do have a narrow foot with a high arch and these shoes are narrower then all my other Salomons. The arch support is very similar to other Salomons; it's not uncomfortable for me but, I wouldn't run in them just walk or hike. I hope this helps!

This is my third pair of Salomon Speedcross 3. I am a long distance runner and have never had to "break them in". They are good right out of the box. They are my favorite running shoes. I live in Alaska and the soles are great for ice/snow grip and awesome for trails in the summer.

I bought these to walk the dogs on ice and snow. I figured they would be more comfortable than snow boots. Well, these shoes did not disappoint. From the moment I slipped these on and tightened the no-tie laces, my feet felt great. I've never owned shoes that required zero breaking in like these. They are worth every penny. Plus, the grips on the sole do help when my 90lb. dog decides to pull me across icy sidewalks.

Woot! I love these shoes! Love the colors. Love the look. Love the comfort! I am one who routinely puts comfort above all else when buying a shoe. I walk or jog 3-4 miles a day, and occasionally longer, typically on concrete sidewalks and roads, but also on wooded trails. I realize that these Salomon's are often used by more athletic, more experienced athletes, but I bought them for their high marks in comfort. These shoes are heaven to my feet, knees, and hips! They feel so good from minute one! I am so glad I purchased them! I will say that the soles of my shoes did not hold up well for long. They have big chunks of rubber on the bottom that greatly improve traction on nearly all surfaces. See the pictures on the website. Two comments about these chunks of rubber on the sole...One: traction is remarkably poor on wet, smooth-ish sidewalks to the point of being dangerous! They are much slicker than a normal shoe on a smooth-ish, wet sidewalk. And Two: I think these shoes are intended for trail runs and softer surfaces, not for concrete sidewalks and roads. I do wear them for trail walks and jogs, too. They are amazing for that purpose! But they are just so comfortable that I insist on wearing them for walks and jogs on concrete, too. The bad news? I believe that the concrete surfaces wear down rubbers chunks of rubber on the soles much faster than the shoes are designed to wear down. Once the chunks of rubber are worn flat, these shoes are not nearly as comfortable, and the foot, knee, and hip aches return. Consequently, I had to replace these after only 7 months of once a day walking and jogging! That is much faster than I normally have to replace my shoes! But guess what? I couldn't resist! I love these so much that I bought another pair! The comfort is just that good! I highly recommend these shoes.

I bought these for a Mudderella race. I wasn't sure of sizing so I ordered the 7.5 and 7. The 7 fit great and I generally wear a 7. They worked great in the mud, slop and water. Drained well, and no blisters thankfully. I had hoped to clean them up and continue to use them afterwards but unfortunately Maine mud smells like... Well poo. And nothing is getting that smell out! I've saved them for the next mud run/event (tucked away wear noses don't venture). I also decided to keep the 7.5 as they are just a tad too big. With heavier socks I think they will work well for walking the dog in the winter on slippery roads. I would definitely recommend! Also people had warned me about the lacing system and that it would loosen during the run. It did not. Although the plastic piece did pack up with mud and was very hard to get them off at the end.

These shoes are great. They were comfortable straight out of the box-like walking on a cloud. There was virtually no "break in" period, and my feet were happy hiking or trail running from the moment I slipped them on. I've wanted a minimalist shoe for quite some time, but can't seem to find one that still offers a bit of support until this one. I've you're putting any serious mileage on these shoes you will see that the tread wears quickly. Much more so than I would have expected. Salomon's customer service was great, though, and sent a new pair my way. These shoes are worth the money, and I would purchase this brand again in a heartbeat.

These shoes are fantastic! I was worried that they would hurt my feet as I typically wear a wider athletic shoe, but contrary to what some of the reviews say I did not find them to be too thin. I typically wear a 7.5, but ended up ordering a 7 and they fit perfect. I am amazed at how "cushy" they feel, whether I'm standing on rocks or flat concrete. And after 5-7 hours on a shooting range my feet aren't absolutely screaming as they have been when wearing traditional cleats. I'll be buying a pair of the CS Speedcross for winter!

These shoes are amazing! I decided to purchase them after reading the other reviews. I went on a trail run with my husband and I felt like I was holding these shoes back! They fit like a glove and the traction is insane! I felt much more secure during the technical parts and did not worry about slipping. When we got home my husband got online and ordered his own pair! He now is in love with them, too! They are everything that people are saying and more! Stop reading and order these! You won't regret it! I ordered an 8.5, they fit great! I normally order a 9 in a road running shoe but I like the extra room for street running. For the trail the 8.5 just felt secure. Great shoes!

This is my second pair this year in a different color; really great running shoes, does not require any breaking either. Thinking of getting a 3rd pair this summer.
