Ask my closest friends and they will confirm that I'm obsessed with finding a great quality pair of tall boots. I have large calfs and it's near impossible to find a pair that fits my calfs and lasts more than 10 minutes. I've been drooling over these boots for a year now and finally decided it was time for action. So, I called Switzerland and moved some money around to make it happen. 24 anxious hours later my new beauties arrived. They fit wonderfully in the calf, but were too tight in the actual foot section. So, after a few days at a cobbler on the stretcher, and another week of "breaking them in" they are now my favorite pair of boots. They are great quality, look awesome, and actually fit my large calf (which is 18 inches I believe). TOTAL WIN. I do agree with other reviewers that I wish they were a tad taller, but honestly it doesn't change my love. I'm a Frye fan for life.

This boot is amazing. It has a slouchy look, but still looks nice with dresses, causal and comfortable. I have a wide calf, and this boot fits amazingly! Size 11 calf 18-19. the boot is a little shorter in the shaft height than I thought - but it works! I would buy it again in a second!

I was hesitant to buy these because of the price, but they are completely worth the money. I am 5'4 and my calf is 17" at the widest point, and these fit with space. Definitely want to purchase these in black, since I got the dark brown. Overall I would buy these again in a heart beat. The only thing that people have mentioned is they are tighter initially, which is good since they are leather and they will stretch. Buy true to size. I normally wear a 9.5 and was going to order a 10 because of peoples review, but I'm glad I didn't since they will stretch in the toe area. They fit well with my tights and boot socks and they weren't too small so hopefully that helps.

I love theses boots they are by far my new favorites. I am worried though that they may not be able to withstand my abuse. I am tough on my boots and I live in Alaska where it is wet a lot. But so far they are wonderful and look oh so fabulous! It has taken me about a year to find a pair that fit me perfectly and now I am happy.

Gorgeous, gorgeous boots. But they're so short! They barely hit the middle of my calf--they look much longer in the pictures. And I'm 5'4" with really short legs. Sad. :(

I was really looking forward to these boots as I have wide calves (~15"). I'm shorter (5'3") and curvy so finding boots to fit over my calves has been difficult. While I was able to fit these boots on with skinny jeans, they hit my leg at an odd point. They were too low below my knee, even though I'm so short, and they also pulled strangely about the ankles, I believe due to my calves being as large as they are. Instead of slouching down, they pulled at about a 45 degree angle from the front of my ankle up towards my calf. Hard to explain, but obvious and unattractive in person. The footbed was a tad narrow for me, but I don't think sizing up would resolve the height issues so they'll be returned and not exchanged. I was very satisfied with the quality of the leather and the stitching, but the overall look was just not right.

First purchase at Zappos and I was very disappointed. I wish I can attach pictures. The left shaft did not match the right. The leather on the left looks like tumbled full grain while the right looks like dark brown calf shine. Very, very poor dye job. This was the last pair but did not expect this to look like 2 different boots. I am sure this was purchased and returned many times before with the same reason but why would Zappos return to inventory defective items for other people to buy and return. Waste of shipping $$$. Zappos is supposed to inspect all returns, don't they read and listen to the reasons for returns? Even if they pass this on to 6pm.com, I think people would still return these even if purchased at a discount. I am 5'0" and have 16 1/4 inches calves. I normally wear a size 6 and bought the 6. These fit with room to spare for leggings. The boot shaft ends 2 inches below my knees. The foot bed is padded. The toe box is a little tight and there is heel slippage but I'm sure these will loosen up and get better once broken in. I purchased this style because of the extended calf version but I really prefer the Vera slouch style...if only they had them in extended calf version. I wish Frye will produce the extended calf version in several colors (not just black and dark brown). I am returning these and I hope Zappos does not put this pair back for sale and if they do, this is not even worth the price off.

I've only had these boots a few days, but I do love these boots. I was hesitant to order them because I thought they looked terrible in the Zappos video. So I instead ordered the Frye Paige tall riding wide calf because I liked the look better, but they were so uncomfortable and didn't fit over my calves, which measure about 17 inches at the widest point (returned those). So I read more reviews on the Veronica slouch wide calf and decided to give them a try because of Zappos' wonderful and easy return policy. These boots fit me wonderfully. I ordered a size 10, which is my usual size. Like others say, they feel a little snug on the foot and in the heel initially, but I have worn them around the house to see if they would break in a little, and they already have after maybe 20 minutes of walking around inside. I think the reason these fit wide calves is that they are shorter than other wide calf boots. The shaft height on these is about 1 inch shorter than on the Paige tall riding, so the Veronica slouch boots don't need to fit around the widest part of my calf. I'm a shade under 5'8", so these hit about 3-4 inches below the bottom of my knee. They actually look amazing like this and make my legs look longer and thinner than a taller boot does. There is plenty of room for my skinny jeans to fit in these, and they still fit really nicely (they aren't pinching or squeezing my legs). I ordered the dark brown, which looks just like the picture on my computer. Even though I already have a pair of black boots that I like, I might order the black in these if I continue to love the brown ones so much!

Love these boots! The wide calf fits perfect with enough room for leggings. I always wear a 9.5 and that is what I ordered in these and they fit fine. I also like the calf is adjustable with the buckle. Love the look and style of these boots. A bit pricey but a friend of mine owns Frye boots and she's had them for years and they still look brand new. You get what you pay for.

They are not very wide calf at all. The leather is very nice but they looked too masculine for me. I'm sending them back.

Great experience! Boots came in 3 days and they fit great! I ordered a 1/2 size bigger based on other reviews and glad I did. They were comfortable from day one, and aside from a little slipping in the back heel, which only lasted a day, I had no problems breaking them in. Only complaint is that they are not a little higher on the leg, but they still look great. I have 15 1/2 inch calves and there is room in them to slip my fingers in. Highly recommended!

As an athletic, wide calfed woman it can be very hard to find boots that fit my legs. Often traditional wide calf boots look too large, but regular boots only zip over my bare leg or with tights. I am able to wear these with jeans and they look excellent. I have been wanting a pair of Frye boots for year and finally bit the bullet and paid the price for these, and I feel that they are worth every penny. I will be wearing them for years. They were a bit tight in the toe box when I first got them, they are stretching out as I wear them more often, but I did have some uncomfortable rubbing the first three or so wears.

These are beautiful, awesome boots, I have a wider forefoot and they were tight at first, but broke in pretty quick. I have about a 15.5 in calf and keep the buckle on the smallest setting (probably could have gone with the regular boot, but glad to have the adjustability for tucking in jeans/pants). I would recommend a good leather conditioner/ weatherproofer to keep them looking sharp.

I love these boots! They fit so well and are so comfortable. The first time I wore them was for a 12 hr day with lots of walking and it didn't bother me at all. It was almost like they were already broke in <3

Love, love, love these boots! I have a wide calf, first pair of boots I was able to wear ( I did order the wide calf). I can even tuck in my corduroy pants and they aren't too tight!

Ordered both regular and wide calf Veronica Slouch because i have a 14" calf. I was able to get both boots on but kept the wide calf because there is room to spare if I should choose to wear jeans inside the boots.Really nice boots that i have dreamed of owning for many years but felt they were too pricey. The toe is a bit too tight but will break in just right.

This is my first day wearing these shoes and OMG they are so comfy! I have a wide calf (16" plus a little, haven't measured in a while) and a wide foot and was worried that the toebox was going to be too narrow. I ordered a half size up (9.5) and I think that's the kicker: more room for the toes and foot in general. It fits perfectly around my calf with thick leggings and I'm wearing a thick sock with no problem. No pain in my foot so far! I have a high arch so I can't comment about arch support but I am an under pronator and there is no pain on the outside of my foot. Overall, I love it and definitely recommend, especially if you are a wide calf gal with wide feet like me! I don't think I'll ever take these off...seriously.

I am absolutely in love with these boots. I am a size 8 with 17" calfs. They fit perfectly. They are super stylish and great quality. This is my second pair of Fryes and I do not think that I will ever buy another brand of boots again.

I've always loved Frye boots, and these are no exception. The leather is high quality and will last forever. However, they ran a half size large and I had to exchange(love Zappos!), and until the leather is broken in a bit - beware. I had horrible blisters and rubbed areas on the tops of my feet. All is well now and I wear them frequently with jeans as well as skirts. The wider calves worked perfectly for me, boots are usually a tough fit in that area.

As a plus size gal I have a hard time finding cute boots to fit my calves. I read every review I could find on these before committing to the price. I finally decided to get them and I'm glad I did! I'm 5'11 and they are about mid calf on me, but I love that they aren't knee high. My calf is 20" at its widest and these fit no problem (in a size 11). The leather is wonderful and the styling is timeless. If you're on the fence, get them...you won't regret it! I wear them with dresses/leggings and skinny jeans and get tons of compliments.

Great boot, nice dark brown color. The boot was advertised as a wide calf and when I it on the boot did fit my calf, but did not leave from for leggings. Too bad, they were exactly what I was looking for....if only they could have been just a bit larger.

These boots are great. I am 5'6, wear an 8.5M shoe and have an about 17.5 inch calf. These are snug at the top, but with 1 day of wearing they have already loosened up, and I plan to take them to a cobbler for a stretch if they don't stretch enough on their own. The quality, feel, and look of this boot is fantastic! Exactly what I have been looking for!

Awesome! Wore them all day long on the first day! Great fit! Glad I went 1/2 size up. Little slip in the heel but strap adjustment corrects that. Extra in calf is wonderful! First boots I don't have to hide because jeans wouldn't tuck inside! Great to be in love! Thanks Zappos! You matchmakers you!

I have muscular calves which are hard to fit, but I've had trouble with wide calf boots being too big at the top. I'm also short and many boots are simply too tall for me. I blanched at the price of these boots, but was frustrated and decided to give them a try. I hadn't realized they had no zipper and my heart sank when I took them out of the box, because I thought they would never work. But they did! The height is a little shorter, which works for me and I can cinch in the buckle at the top to make them fit better.They fit over my calves like they were made for me and I can wear leggings or even tuck in jeans. They are a good looking, casual boot and I am thrilled to finally find a pair that looks and feels good!
