I shall tell it like it is...I am overweight (equally heavy all over) and no longer wear shorts in the Summer outside of the house. However, I must live through Houston summers. These pants are straight from heaven. They are very lightweight with spandex (yes oh yes) and a wide and flat cotton knit waistband in the back. They have cool ruching and useful pockets. Also, drawstrings are GREAT and I think back pockets are more slimming than flat back pants. am 5'4" so they are a bit long. Leg width is great, a bit wider than pure straight leg but that is OK. I wear with wedges or roll up one turn (may get them hemmed). As comfy as leggings but I am actually wearing pants. Really can dress them up a bit with nicer top, shoes and jewelry or just throw on a top and fip flops. They keep you very cool..cooler than denim or twill shorts would be. I wore similar style and weight pants from Esprit for many years when we lived in Europe but could not find similar in the US until now. I typically wear a 14 and got the Large and they are perfect. They stretch quite a bit after you put them on. Doubt I look thinner in them, but i feel thinner and that is always a great thing. I went back and ordered more and also some XCVI crops. In warm climates these make great year round pants. Highly recommend.

Way too short! Many reviews complain that these pants are too long. Those reviews are written by short women. I'm 5'9 and these pants barely reach and certainly don't cover my ankles. They would be wonderful if they were long. It is easy to take up a hem, but if there isn't fabric, there is not much a woman can do. There are many petite shops, it would be wonderful if at least one designer would consider making long pants for those of us who are tall!

I like the style of these pants a lot. I bought a pair true to size and one size up. I wanted a comfortable fit and these pants run baggy. They tend to fade after washing. But my major complaint is that the stitching is done with cheap/weak thread. I still love the designs but have had to run my sewing machine over almost all of the seams. This happened within minutes of wearing the pants. Also, some seams were unraveling before trying on, especially the decorative seams. I would not buy these pants again.

I love the style of these pants, they fit great, and I live in New Orleans, the light fabric is so comfortable even on a hot day however I've worn/washed them about 6 times, and the color is looking faded and dull, and some of the seams are already coming out. So disappointed because they instantly became my favorite pants.

Love the look. Unfortunately these did not fit at all. It was like I was in a parallel universe, where someone gave me Barbie clothes and said, "No really. These LOOK like you won't be able to get your foot into the first pant leg hole, but you will, and then you WILL be able to pull them up, and you will be amazed at how awesome they fit!"
So I said, "OK, I will try sticking my foot in that first pant-leg hole. Ah! So far so good! Maybe you're right. Maybe these ARE deceptively sized. I have other pants in this brand that fit perfectly. What was I thinking?"
I got them pulled up, and on, and up at my waist I could "sort of" close them. That wasn't the real problem though. It was like the factory got confused and made the back of the waist band a low cut bikini bottom. You know what I mean. Like you have it pulled up and it isn't ... pulled up. It's lingering in the south end and will go no further north. The front of the waist area was fine. Up where it should be.
I then made the mistake of standing back and looking at the overall spectacle in a full length mirror in the bedroom.
Let's just say -- in figure-skating terms, because why not? -- the judges' scores were as follows: 3.4. 3.5, 3.2, 3.0, 3.1, 3.5, and some judge who turned out to be an imposter tried to give me a "negative 3.2." I lost badly, is my point, and I had to stand there looking in the full length mirror wondering, "Do I have these pants on backwards? Is this an elaborate practical joke? Why am I thinking about figure skating judges when I don't even figure skate?" I hope you don't think things like this when you try on pants that seem to be upside down or inside out or maybe they were supposed to be a baby blanket or something and there was a mix up at the factory. That can happen, you know. One time I bought a record (back when "vinyl" was still around) and it was supposed to be Bruce Springsteen and I got it hope and opened it and it was Barbra Streisand. Whoopsie, right? So my point is, maybe things can go wrong at clothing factories too. Or maybe these pants just don't fit me though all the other ones in this brand do. You have to admit that is a little weird and disconcerting. No way am I uploading a photo of myself standing in the Barbie pants in front of the full length mirror being humiliated by figure skating judges. You can just use your imaginations.
By the way, I wasn't going to write a "review" (if that's what this is?) about this item because I returned it. I RETURNED IT.
I could not get these Barbie backwards "I'm so confused" pants back in the Zappos sack fast enough. I think I raced to the UPS store and the girl at the counter saw my face and said, "Barbie backwards?" "YES! Please help!" And she talked me down and I'm OK now.
I know, I should have said that I returned these pants up at the top, to save you all from reading all this other stuff. Like I know you aren't interested in my scores from the judges and the fact that I don't figure skate might have seemed a little like I veered off topic here. But in my defense, let me just says that the nice folks at Zappos sent ME an email begging me, PLEASE REVIEW these pants and help others. How could I not take on this humanitarian mission?
So as much as it pained me, I went ahead and "re-lived" the entire try-on-at-home trauma event a bit too vividly and tried to explain what my experience was with these pants. Because it might help someone else. I feel sure that this review helped many many people. I bet these pants fit everyone else perfectly. Just not me. Everyone else probably got high scores from the skating judges too. I salute you. I am more a luge gal.

I ordered a small - I have around a 27-28" waist. When you first put them on, it seems like even without the drawstring you have an okay fit. But after a few hours, the waist area stretches...seriously I could fit two of me in here. I was generally happy with the rise on the pants (I like a higher rise), but wanted something that did feel subject to literally falling off - especially since the drawstring is extremely thin. I decided to thread elastic through the existing drawstring holes, and that made this a much better pant. I also doubt an XS would have fit my fuller thighs! So I'm happy... but only because I was able to modify them!

I bought these pricey pants based in the excellent reviews as an alternative to my silver jeans which I wear all of the time. They are super comfy and cute. The pocket seams came loose after one wash and I can tell the crotch seam is about to open up also. I am going to try and exchange for another pair. Super cute, though, and the length is perfect. I am 5'9" and weigh 150 lbs. I bought a large and they are nicely loose.

These pants seriously fell apart. Whoever does the sewing for this company has failed miserably. The thread and the material fall apart and begin this process as soon as you get them. The design are fabulous! The materials are incredibly weak. I think they should send me another pair. I have bought many and they all seem to begin to deteriorate. I just love the design. Please get another company to sew and get stronger material. They are expensive and fall apart. This does not work for me. All the seams are dissolving. I am taking the others to a tailor to reinforce.

I own over a dozen different types of XCVI pants. They are all smashing and I always get compliments when I wear them. The Monte Carlo pant is very sleek. It has all of the extra detailing that we expect to find in XCVI designs. The flatteringly slim top giving way to the ruching on each side, then the side pockets, and then more ruching make your legs look very long. Especially when you wear wedges or shoes with a small heal. It is supposed to be extra long to flatter. I am 5'4" and 112 pounds. I wear size xs and they all fit perfectly. They are as comfortable as pajamas but very chic and sophisticated.

Fabulous pants, worth the $. I am generally a 10-12, but I ordered the medium based on reviews. They are plenty large enough, even after washing. So comfortable that I intend to wear them on an 18 hour flight to Greece!

The mink color looks nothing like in the picture. The picture it looks like grey. These are brown pants. You can see in the photo below it’s nothing like the picture! I have others in this style though that I love!

For the price I paid for these pants and only have worn them once, I shouldn't have holes in my pockets. This fragile little thread on the exterior makes the pocket. I already have 2 holes in it. I wore them for only 2 hours to run errands. Poorly made. Don't bother.

Very comfortable and stylish travel pants. Wore them on three long plane flights from San Francisco to Dubrovnik then from Paris to San Fran then again from San Fran to Melbourne Australia. Perfect. Held up well. Run large. I normally wear a size 6 and bought the small.

These are my favorite go to pants. They are my answer to jeans, which I don't wear. The fit is true to classical XCVI. The details on these pants are perfect, with embellishments. The front and back pockets that are genius. My only wish? That they came in more colors!

These pants are awesome! They are so unique and so flattering. I'm 5'4" and full-figured and pants that fit this well are really hard to find. The price may seem high, but the style more than makes up. I'll be wearing these for years (I bought 1 additional pair in black and 1 in gray!).

Such cute pants but the stitching is so incredibly weak that they fell apart almost immediately. We would kinda laugh as I put my phone in my pocket and it slid down my leg and out the bottom onto my shoe. But then I remembered that I paid $100 for the pants and it wasn't funny. I was silly and bought another pair thinking that maybe somehow they would be different. They were not. They unravelled super fast and I feel the need to tell other people that until they sew these better, it's a total waste of money.

I used to buy and like these pants, but quality went down the drain.
I bought them in December 2019, wore them 2 times and washed 2 times, now multiple stitches are falling apart. Very disappointed with XCVI. Won’t buy again.

Love these pants! I’ve had a pair for years, just came back for another pair. Unfortunately, I can no longer wear shorts during the warmer months no thanks to a vascular issue …so I have to get creative with what I can wear in the summer, something besides jeans. These fit the bill. Lightweight, long length (not cropped, ankles & legs not showing), lots of colors, cute with sneakers, sandals, wedges, clogs, or whatever. Cute casual pant. They fit TTS .. not baggy. I’m a pretty solid size 12/14 (5’6, 170 lbs) and the size 12/14 fits perfectly. I purchased mine from Zappos years ago — I hope they haven’t changed since then.

I love this style from XCVI and have been looking for the khaki color as shown in the photo. I contacted Zappos twice to check on the color and was reassured that the color Mink was the color shown, a neutral khaki. Instead, it is brown and so I am returning them.

I’m 5’4”, 148 lbs and I could squeeze into a tighter medium, but feel like the large fits comfortably without being overly loose and still is fitted enough in the hips and back to be flattering. I love these so much I wear them all year, but as someone who can’t wear shorts anymore, these are especially awesome. I wear with sandals or low profile sneakers and a short sleeve/sleeveless shirt & now not wearing shorts is very tolerable, and I can have fun when I’m out vs feeling self conscious about my legs. These have a drawstring, but they do fall down some after wearing, & occasionally have to be pulled up and re tightened, but it’s not so often as to be nuisance. This material is thin but not transparent at all, and has a very slight stretch. They stretch out a little after wearing but not enough to size down in my opinion, unless you are close or between sizes. I’m a solid size 12, so I got the large, but if you are a 10/12 person you may want to size down to the medium. They are casual pants and you can dress them up some, but only to a point, lol. I have owned at least 15 pairs of these (probably more) over the years and worry what I will do if they stop making them. Now, that being said there are some drawbacks; the 30 inseam doesn’t seem to be available anymore and for 5’4” or less these will at least slightly brush if not drag the floor. I’m going to try some iron hem tape because they are not cheap and I hate to throw more money into tailoring pants that are cute but as my husband says look more like a 30 dollar TJ Max number vs (near) 100 bucks. I don’t totally agree but they are overpriced, especially as the quality is poor in certain aspects. So, 15+ pairs in and I have not had one pair that at least one pocket seam didn’t come apart. Most pairs within a fairly short period of time will only have one functioning side pocket, and shortly thereafter both front side pockets will be completely undone. If you forget you will be quickly reminded when whatever you put in drops straight to the floor. The outside pockets tend to fair better a lot longer, but after a year’s worth of washes will often start coming undone too. The exception being my most recent purchase: one wash before wearing and the back pocket came apart. That isn’t typical, but obviously disappointing. I tolerate the lack of quality that way because I love them so much. They are so life changing comfortable compared to other pants that I still recommend.

These are my favorite pants and I have three colors now. I like the drawstring waist as it will cinch or expand depending on the day. The one issue I have with this brand (I own other styles too) is on some pairs the stitches break - the thread I think has no stretch when the fabric does. This design flaw is minor but means that they don't have longevity over many years.

These are my absolute favorite pair of pants of all time. I've owned them for YEARS and I keep buying them in new colors. The only thing I'm disappointed in is that they never came out with white, and have discontinued the Sand color. But other than that, they are my 'go to' travel pants, every day out and about pants, and even my "walk the dog" pants b/c they have so many pockets (for treats, bags, cell phone, etc). The stitching DOES come out after awhile on the back pockets, but I just take them to my local tailor and for $5 they restitch them. Good as new.

I am shocked I did not discover this brand earlier. They are so comfortable and stylish. These pants are great for running errands and for camping. I live in Alaska and after doing some research on the brand, I cannot believe they sell them at the department stores. They belong in REI and similar stores. These pants are amazing for camping! I have them in two different colors. All XCVI clothes run big, though. I usually wear 2 and 4, depending on the brand, and XCVI XS is slightly big on me. It is fine though, I am not 20 anymore, I do not have to wear super tight pants anymore.

These are comfortable! It's like wearing pajamas in public. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five for style is that I don't like the ruching on the sides, but that doesn't mean that it looks bad and I would say it doesn't. They run a little large, so you might try one size down from your normal size.
