I am a small girl, 105 lbs and still waiting to fill out with my womanly assets at 25 years old, but this coat was so small! I got an XS and for the first time in my life, something was too small on my chest. I felt like a sausage. Had to return and get a small. Coat is decently warm in fall weather, but now that it has gotten cold here in NYC, it just doesn't get the job done. The pretty little flare at the bottom of the coat allows for wind to blow right up. I'm going to have to get a longer coat if I want to stay warm this winter. This coat is great as long as you order a size up and don't plan on using it as your on using it as your windy, winter coat.

This NF jacket is wonderful, warm, cute and a perfect fit! I ordered XS after reading other reviews that it runs small. I was having problems with other NF jackets in XS being too big. I can still fit a bulky sweater underneath but it would rarely be needed and this jacket is very light weight yet incredibly warm! I love it, thanks NF for making a jacket that fits like an XS should!

This is the absolute best coat I have ever owned! I waited two years to find the perfect coat that could go from the hockey rink, to the mall, to my kid's schools, and even out for a nice dinner. It does all this and more. It is super warm, light and I can wear it driving in the car without feeling uncomfortable. The only tricky thing is as much as I love the white color, it does get dirty - I have cleaned it easily with the tide stain stick, but still that is something to consider.

Very flattering fit that hugs your body. I would say go up one size because it is more fitting. Lightweight and not bulky at all. Keeps me warm in this 20 degree weather we're having right now. I bought the black and love it.

I ordered this coat without having tried on a North Face coat before. The fit was true to size. I was concerned it might run a little small like other higher-end brands. The coat is warm and comfortable, the down is very soft, and the color of the coat is very pretty with a nice sheen to it (I got the blue). The coat is also a lot more flattering than I had expected of a down coat. It looks very nice on, and the waist nips in a little bit so you don't look like a mattress wearing it. I would definitely recommend this coat! It is a little pricey, but I think the investment was worth it. I can tell I will be able to wear it for awhile.

I should have listened to the previous reviewers. The coat looks great but does run small. I'm a size 4-6 and the medium was too tight, especially in the arms.

Perfectly stylish and practical! I bought it this fall, and have gotten so much use out of it already this season. Also, I have received many compliments on this jacket (I got it in the charcoal color). Lightweight, but nice and cozy warm, this jacket will be my go-to for years to come!

Love this coat. Am 5'2, 115; the medium fits fine--snug but it looks/feels nice. Also the length is a little longer than on the model--better for warmth. Blue is really pretty, a little on the deep purple and shiny side--unusual rich color. extremely light, comfy.

BEAUTIFUL FIT and keeps me warm! I was very reluctant to buy a puffer because I am petite and did not want to look puffed out, but this is the MOST flattering down coat I've ever tried on! LOVE it. I'm 5'1" and 115 lbs. and small is perfect. I have received many compliments, especially how flattering it is. Love the pearly white color.

Love this coat! I think it's the best North Face jacket I have ever owned. It is very light weight, yet warm. Order a size up for sure. I am a Large and did not want to order Extra Large but I am so glad I did just because it is so comfortable and I can layer. The Large would have just fit snug like a dress... but I know I was not going to be able to layer at all. I am a size 10-12.

I ordered this coat first in an xs and in black. The xs was very tight on me (5'4", 115, curvy). I returned it and got the purple in a small and it fits almost perfectly! The only thing is that the sleeves are a bit long, but I'm okay with that, since they will help keep my hands warm. The eggplant purple color is beautiful - I'm glad I read the other reviews that said so. The coat is very flattering, especially through the lower back, where I have trouble getting a good fit. I recommend going up one size than you would normally wear in coats.

Whatup, North Face?! This is a gorgeous coat, but it's so small! I am always a standard medium, but with this coat a medium is like that "Tommy Boy" song: Fat guy in a little coat! Okay, I'm not fat, but the coat runs super small. Definitely size up, or you'll be returning it as soon as it arrives. And waiting another three days for the correct size is just sad. Sniff.

I am returning this in favor of the Patagonia Down with It Parka. It's really nice, but very staticky. There is no lining layer and the Patagonia seemed sturdier. This is one layer of down, not much finishing to the jacket at the cuffs, etc. The Patagonia seemed more finished. Both are sleeker and less puffy, and this one has more down in it, but it just felt like the other one was better made to me.

I bought this jacket before an unusually warm winter in New York City, so I have not really had the chance to test this coat in temperatures below 30° yet. However, I can at least say that it keeps me warm in 30° weather. If it is a windy day, you can feel a little chill through the coat if you are wearing short sleeves underneath. But if you wear a cardigan or a long-sleeved shirt, you will be fine. It also repels light rain and snow well. Like other reviewers were saying, it does run a bit small - I vary between a size small or medium and bought a medium in this case. Fortunately the medium fits perfectly, so I am glad that I did not get the smaller size. Overall, if you are looking for a fashionable coat that is lightweight but warm - I highly recommend this one!

The jacket is very nice but see if you can try it on in store. A lot of reviewers said it runs small and I ordered a Large - big mistake. I am between size 6-8 and the jacket is way too big for me, and the sleeves are at least 5" too long. What a disappointment. I know people are trying to help other people when they review items online but it might make sense to state your own size clearly, after all Medium now means size 6-8 in some brands and 8-10 in some others. Not only I did it to myself but recommended this coat to friend suggesting ordering up.

I'm 5'2, 130 lbs. I bought a medium and it fits perfect even with sweaters. It's not bulky and very warm and comfortable. The hood is great as it as the elastic edges and when it becomes the windy city on some days...the hood doesn't fly off. The only con is for petite women the arms are a bit long. Otherwise it's a slimming and warm coat.

This is a good, warm coat. It is lightweight and packs surprisignly easy. I got a medium as I usually wear a medium in all North Face coats. The style is a little more flattering than other down long coats because of the ways the seams are sewn. I got the black, but really wanted the grey, but it was sold out. Zappos sets the bar on shipping and customer service! Everyone else is lucky to come in second.

I live in my down vests but they just haven't been keeping me warm enough. I wanted a longer down coat that was stylish and not too puffy. I ordered this in black and it's lovely and flattering-not big and puffy like a parka. I love how it has a two-way zipper. I live in California so it's definitely warm enough. I am usually a Medium and that's what I ordered and it's fine since I don't wear a lot of thick clothes underneath. The arms are a little tight so I would order up if I planned to wear thicker layers underneath.

Firstly I was so scared to get the jacket because of the reviews about it running small in size. For me the size was perfect and is in agreement with all my other northface jackets. Im very happy with it because its light, not too bulky, not too shiny and perfect length and good for packing in suitcase because its so light. Major disappointment is that it doesn't have intern pockets. Just have to test it in the snow and high wind conditions!

This is a beautiful coat. It is incredibly light, but very warm. I did notice that this brand seems to run small. I usually wear an XS in coats (35 bust, 27 waist, 38 hip), but this XS is very tight across the chest and hips. The arms fit great, though. The size chart says that the XS fits a 32 bust, and I should have believed them. Keep in mind that it is fitted in the hip as well. Despite this, the coat is gorgeous and I will definitely be ordering another North Face in a small.

Love my Upper West Side jacket! Haven't had too many cold days here in PA yet, but I wore this once on a 40 degree day and was actually too warm, so I know once it turns cooler it will keep me very warm. I love the eggplant color. It is very lightweight and silky smooth. I originally bought in size small, as I usually wear a 4 or 6. The small fit perfectly, but when I tried with a sweater underneath it was too tight in the shoulder and arms. So I sized up to medium to allow for sweaters and fleece pullovers. I wish the hood was removable, that is my only complaint. As always, Zappos service was wonderful. The first coat I received had a slight rip in it (the plastic bag it came in was torn) and they replaced it right away, the coat was at my doorstep the next day!

I absolutely love this jacket! I was so upset when I find out that TNF was discontinuing the East Village Jacket. This Upper West Side is even better. The East Village was one of my best buys last year. I live in Pennsylavania, and wore it to my daughter's tournaments in Boston, New York, and Cleveland. It is usually freezing at the venues and it kept me totally cozy. I even had my sister buy one, and we both practically lived in them all winter. I just got my West Side and it is absolutely beautiful. Feminine fit, very light and with a hood, with the same 700 down fill! The eggplant color is gorgeous. I thought I had the perfect jacket last year, but it pales in front of my new Upper West Side. It fits beautifully, giving me a great figure. It is a must buy, for anyone who is always cold while their husbands, are suffocating of the heat. If you loved the East Village, this this is just as warm and much more pretty. Buy one size up as it is snug. I like to buy a little snug, but I do not think I could even zip a extra small.

I am 5'6", wear a size 6, and am a 34C - a medium pulled at the chest and puckered at the hips. All other North Face jackets fit me perfectly with a thick layer underneath without pulling, this did not even give a thick layer a chance. The sleeves are a touch long, but I live in Minnesota so long sleeves add more protection so I am fine with that. I wish this jacket was a bit longer. It comes to about two inches above my knees. I would have loved about two more inches. It is very light weight. My understanding, from the representative at the store, is that it has a lot of bang for its buck. So thin does not necessarily mean not warm. They have others that are a bit warmer but much thicker. No thanks! I am looking for something that I do not feel like a Stay Puft marshmallow in, can wear to work, and be outside in at -20° for about 10 minutes before frostbite sets in. I am fine with layers, because you cannot drive your car in a coat meant for -20°, at least not with the heat on! I am also not going to stand outside in it just to see if it is warm enough. If we are outside, we are moving about, so it will be fine. If we are staying out for a longer period of time, we are usually skiing and that is a whole different coat/layering. I absolutely love the style of this coat. It is very flattering. Now to wait for the large to arrive. I love the fast shipping from Zappos!
