Brought it home and liked it. My friend, who's been having back pain tried them on and fell in love. After a day, said it really helped her back, so I gave them to her and will have to get another pair.

These sandals feel like they have higher arches than the "fashion" Orthaheels (and I have high arches). The arch goes further toward the center of the foot. They do break in/down as you wear them to eventually fit your arch, but it takes a while. Certainly follow the company's instructions regarding breaking them in gradually.

Prompt delivery from Zappos as usual! I like the style of the flip flop with the strip of patent leather, which makes it dressier than your usual flip flop. Due to a hip replacement, I have ordered several shoes in different brands that are helpful in comfort & balance. Orthaheel was recommended to me by a friend. This style did not sell me on the Orthaheel brand. The padding in the arch area feels more pronounced than expected. I have been wearing a month and still have not gotten used to them.

I bought this together with a "Kalso Earth" and one "New Balance Minimus Vibram Thong" for comparison. Finally they arrived and I gave it a month of testing before writing a review. I must say that I don't think that my feet & legs have any bone positioning problems, overpronation or similar, so it is not like they were recommended to me by a doctor, but I thought they might be some wondershoes so why not invest & try them out and they might bring some ease to my knees that bother me sometimes after walking many hours. That being said, I felt most awkward in this Orthaheel, compared to the Kalso Earth & Minimum Vibram, the later one being my favorite of all 3. What was awkward about Tide, was that they almost made my knees hurt from the start (not after hours & hours of walking). As soon as I would walk in them, I would feel weird around ankles and knees, somewhat painful. But not too bad, so I keep using them, even more so that the Kalso Earth already got holes in their heels and make my feet stink and this after just a few weeks of alternate wearing them with the other 2 pairs! At least, Orthaheel seems to be more robust, the soles are barely used and no bad smell, and this is very desirable especially in the very hot & humid summer of Japan. So they are my 2nd favorite after New Balance Vibram, that feel like a breeze, so amazing to walk with, you even forget you have something on. Recently my feet might have gotten used to the Tide and they don't hurt anymore, but I can't say if it does anything good in deep level, for the future of my bones. I walked with them in rain and they worked out fine, not slippery. Design is a little clunky but who cares. At least they don't make my feet stink although they make me sweat a lot.

I liked the arch support and heel support. If I stood all day, it would be good and i like to wear them around the house rather than be barefoot. My main problem with the sandal is that my foot was too loose in the strap and when walking it caused me to grip hard with my big toe, getting a sore toe after a day of walking.

I wish there were half sizes. 9 is too small - 10 is too large. I went with the larger for the arch support. Excellent comfort for my heel!

I really like my new Orthoheel flip flops. My mom told me about these because my right foot turns in a bit. After the first day of wearing these my arch was sore on my right foot (assumed they must be working) and hasn't been sore since. They are comfortable and they have stayed new looking after wearing them almost everyday. The only complaint would be that they feel a little loose but not enough to be a problem.

24 hours later and I can walk without limping from heel pain! I have been limping for 5 months. I have had to quit going on walks. Now there is hope! Tried Danskos, they helped - but still had pain. Will be buying another style of Orthaheels for work. Thank you Orthaheels!

Since I usually wear a half size shoe (9.5 AA). I ordered the next lower full size, as instructed. It's way too big. I then ordered a size 8 which fits perfectly and the arch hits where it should and feels good, although the arch still feels a bit high and takes some getting used to.

They are not comfortable at first. You need them for the health of your feet and I have no doubt they will feel good and help in the foot, ankle and even hip problems. I am wearing them a short time and getting accustomed to them. As for Zappos: Want it fast, want it right, then you want Zappos.

Purchased these due to plantar fasciitis. Really needed flip flops for an upcoming beach trip so gave these a try. They truly did help with the plantar fasciitis. I have a lower arch and these took some getting used to, even a little painful to my arch making my foot feel 'tired' the first few times I wore them. Overall pleased with them. Very happy with Zappos. Shoes arrived within 2 days.

I ordered one pair of Orthaheel and one pair of Spenco, for comparison. I do feel the Orthaheel shoe has a much more defined arch support than the Spenco, however, the Orthaheel shoes fit much looser than the Spenco on my feet. My feet are small, (a size 6) so they are not thick enough to fill up the Orthaheel shoe. The Spenco shoe fits my foot like a glove, so in my opinion, the Spenco is much more comfortable to wear. I am happy with both, but if I had to choose one, I would choose the Spenco over the Orthaheel.

Comfortable, bought my normal size and had to send back for the next size up. Gives proper foot support, but that makes it not as comfy as old fashioned flip flops. My sister has trouble wearing them due to the higher arches, but they work for me.

I like the support in the heel but it is taking a while to break in the toe separator Don't know if it is because the arch and heel throw the foot forward so that it rubs or if it is just a matter of softening it by prolonged wear.

I have never tried a shoe like this but wanted cute and supportive. When I first put them on they killed my arch because they were so hard. I tried to wear them and get them broken in but they caused my leg to hurt too bad. I think they might work for people with no big issues. I have 1 leg shorter and multiple back problems so they weren't for me. Good looking and seems to be well made though.

Comfortable with definite high arches. Only problem is the strap is a little loose for my feet, so will probably return since my feet slide around a little.

The arch was too high and firm for my sensitive foot. I also expected it to be more white, not a combination of beige and white.

Bought the pewter same style, same size. The bronze was too small! Needed them for vacation - what a disappointment! Love the pewter. 4 pair of Orthaheels all size 8.

Nice looking. The patent strip dresses them up. They provide really great arch support. Out of the box the shoes felt very heavy but I wore them around the house for a few hours at a time until I got used to them. I just returned from Hawaii with using them daily use and had no problems.

The footbed of these flip flops are incredibly comfortable & as soon as I stepped into them I felt relief from some foot & back pain. The footbed, however is fairly heavy for a flip flop so the straps on top are somewhat uncomfortable at first. It didn't feel as if it would blister but felt more like it would create a bruise on the top of my foot. It did leave marks but not necessarily an actual "bruise", it was just that type of feeling. After about 3 or 4 days of wear that let up though & they are extremely comfortable for flip flops & I found them worth the discomfort while breaking them in. I have a wide foot & these are literally JUST wide enough. They're very close to not being wide enough to support the bottom of my foot toward my pinky toe on what I think would be considered the "toe box". I originally tried the black but found them to be clunky looking as the straps are wide & don't go very far to the back of the shoe cutting the line of focus at the mid/front of the foot. I found the metallic gold color worked well as it somewhat blends with my skin tone therefore elongating the look of my leg instead of stopping dead at the strap on my foot. Overall I'm really happy with the shoe & have received a couple of compliments on them.

This flip flop saved my summer. I have plantar fasciitis and hate wearing shoes in warm weather. Was ready to go in for physical therapy but this little flip flop got me back in alignment and nearly pain free. Follow the directions--wear only a few hours at a time in the beginning. Wish they weren't quite as plain, but I'll take plain over pain any day!

Great sandal for someone with foot problems (Morton's neuroma, pain in heel). I can wear them with no pain, no backache. Wish the footbed could be a little softer.

Great support for a higher arch and cushion for the heel. I wish this footbed was in all Orthaheel shoes. The strap did irritate, but I suffered through that just for the support. They run big -- order a size smaller.

These are pretty comfortable but I think the arch is almost a little too good. Meaning that they are a little painful to wear often after a while. I find them a little clunky, too. They are comfortable but they are not my favorites.

Good sandal, does support arch. Is not soft, comfy or cushy; however, so if that is what you are looking for, this isn't it. However, sometimes the arch in my left foot hurts and I wear these for a little while and it goes away for a few days (fighting plantar fasciitis). I have had for approximately a month and still cannot wear them all day before they actually start to hurt themselves. (Instructions say not to wear them all day right away and I'm not.)
