Like many, I think New Balance shoes have been going downhill for years, and yet, the 574 has remained my favorite sneaker. So when I noticed that these shared the same shoe last as the 574, I had to give them a try and I'm glad I did. Why? Because they're basically the same shoe, except they're lighter (probably less padding) and more sporty. I still prefer the 574, but the nylon uppers of the 501 remind me of running shoes when I was a kid. I think they'll be great for next Summer. Overall, these are basically 574's with a different look to them. Can't go wrong there.

These are sharp looking shoes, but not much more. They feel a little narrow, but I like a wide toe box.

Very pleased with these shoes. They're incredibly light and comfortable to walk in for long distances/periods of time. I do not run in these, however, so I can't speak to that. My only issue is that they don't breathe very well, but it's only a minor inconvenience and not enough to stop me from buying these again.

The shoe is awesome! It is soft and flexible, comfortable to wear and trendy. The only grievance I have with it is that is does not wick moisture well through the canvas portion (color accent) and my feet tend to heat quickly even with nylon/wool socks, so there's that. Otherwise great and would buy again and again! Especially from Zappos and especially for the price, I mean next day shipping for free? Come on!

The shoes look great! I've already received several compliments on them. The only downside is that they start to hurt the heels of my feet after wearing them for almost a full day. If you get them for casual wear (as opposed to use while running) I think you'll be very satisfied. I love these shoes because they go with such a wide range of outfits (they match nearly all colors and you can dress them up or down).

Great shoes, New Balance always comes through. These are probably the lightest pair I've owned, and like all NB they're super comfortable. Love them.

I'm on my feet all day long. I was nervous on the first day I wore this shoe that I would be uncomfortable by the end of the day. I couldn't have been more wrong. I love the look and feel of this shoe; it fits like a dream. I love the navy version of this shoe and plan to purchase another pair in another color soon.

Great shoe. True to size and not too hot. Not a running shoe, per se... but not really intended as one either.

Very light and comfy. Less padding and support than the NB 574, but still nice and cushiony. Smaller toe box, too, but still kind of roomy. Very well padded to wear around town, but I would not recommend them as a running shoe as I think a runner would want more support.

Zappos is always quick to send order out and easy to send back for whatever reason. No complaints!

Great looking shoes. I have these and also the gray and orange ones as well and I love them both. They're very comfortable too. I wear them as everyday shoes, but I would definitely not run in them or do any other physical sports.

My 10 year old loves these shoes. I love that they are old school. They have held up pretty well, and he really likes the bright colors.

Bought these for my husband. They are very cute - will be even cuter when worn in a bit.

Got the navy/red edits of these. Satisfied 100%, classic New Balance (comfortable for my wide feet) plus the style is clean, classic. If I had to nitpick, I'd say that the stock insoles are not conducive to keeping things dry (I wear all the time bare feet), but that's getting really picky/specific. They seriously need to keep this in the regular rotation (especially the navy/red). I had to stock up an extra pair 'cause they were running out.

Great shorts that do what they're supposed to do. I'm very petite, 5'1 and normally a 0/2P. The XS fits like it should. The Small would've been too big. I rate comfort at 4 stars just because that's the nature of these shorts and they're tight, but not uncomfortable.

I love rockin' the Classics ML501. The web picture doesn't quite show it but part of the shoe is a shiny, almost metallic blue. Wear them to the gym all the time.

A "classic", basic, clean looking shoe. Really lightweight and breathable fabric. Zappos delivered again.

These shoes are great! This is my second pair i am buying in 4 months, but a different color of course. They are extremely comfortable and last a long time! For the price you can't beat the product!

True to size and very comfortable. I can walk all day in these and it looks fashionable. Can't ask for more from a pair of sneakers at this price. It seems to be breathable as well. It would be perfect it I could do some jogging in these.

Great looking shoe soft supple materials are used very comfortable. They are a little loose in the heel area for me so I would not recommend the 40 yard dash, you will probably fly out of them. The arch support is almost non existent. Flatfooted people will need arch support inserts if planning on wearing daily and for long periods of time. They are stylish, I have received many compliments and envious stares so basically everyone loves them.

Nice looking kicks. The length seems pretty true to size. The width is not narrow, but not wide either. I have wide feet (can't wear Nikes, Adidas, or Asics because they are too narrow), and these New Balance Classics stretch out fine. There is no arch support though, so add an insert if you need it. These shoes are recommended!

I bought these shoes because I needed some new workout shoes and so far I like them. I think they would look nice casually as well if you're looking for some decent casual shoes. They're overall comfortable and I have no problem with the shoes ankle support. My only gripe is that the tend to get untied a lot when walking. Other than that they're a nice little cheap pair of shoes.

I've been wearing New Balance classics for years (before J Crew started selling them for a lot more money). I was taken aback by how cheaply made these are. I obviously wasn't expecting a performance shoe, but these are dreadfully cheap. 574s might be a better bet.

Great shoes, right size, good delivery time, and decent price. What else could you ask? Width is important to me.
