I purchased the Teva Zilch for a winter cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. This is one of the few sandals with a toe ring which I liked. I always look for a sandal a little different than the average. I ordered a half size down which fit tight, but was not a problem. I experienced no problems with the velcro straps. The sole is very thin and light, maybe too thin for my taste. The toe ring was not a problem and fun to wear. I hope Teva brings the Zilch back for summer, 2012, in additional colors. Overall, the sandals did their part in making the vacation fun.

Just opened up the box and put them on, they feel amazing. Great fit, doesn't feel like there will be any hotspots but we'll see.

I was a life long floppy sandal fan prior to tried on and purchasing my first pair (blue) of these sandals. After wearing them for a few days I went on a mission to find a black pair. These are the most comfortable sandals I've ever owned. I can walk and run in these "minimalist" sandals. No more bulky floppy sandals for me. I'm hooked.

Love this sandal. I've been transitioning to less supportive footwear and these are the best sandals I've found. They're incredibly light and the toe strap is 100 times more comfortable than I thought it would be. I haven't worn flip flops in months.

My go-to shoes for daily use. Own three pairs. Only thing more comfortable is barefoot.

Actually, quite nice. I normally do not like toe loops or classic sandles with the piece in between the toes but this is different. They are very light weight. Comfortable and the size is true. Mind thought that these do not have arch supports at all. There are straps on there to hold the bottom of the shoe on to protect your foot from bad stuff in my opinion. Last note, its nice to have a shoe that follows what my foot does instead of the inverse.

I've been a huge fan of minimalist footwear for a while now and have always wished that I had something more casual looking to wear around (my FiveFingers are great for working out but look a little odd with casual clothes). These fit the bill perfectly. They're extremely comfy (even the toe loop is not so bad and it doesn't really feel any different than the strap on a pair of flip-flops). I love how they're thin and flexible and strike a good balance between being barefoot and being in a protective pair of shoes. My only issue was that I had trouble getting the right fit. My usual shoe size was too big and the size reccomended on the Teva website was too small so hopefully the third time's the charm. Zappos' wonderful return policy has made the process of finding the right size very easy though and they got the first two pairs to me within a day of ordering. Love it! Overall, I highly recommend this sandal. Just be aware that these are not your usual beefy Tevas; they're meant to be minimalist and have a more barefoot like feel.

After reading the reviews on several sigths I was intitial reluctant to try a pair of Teva Zilch. However, the sounded exactly as what I wanted. I am more than happy that I did. So much after wearing my first pair for a week I bought two more pair. I have always had success with Teva. I live in Florida and spent much of my life either with upscale flip-flops, boat shoes or bare foot. Once upon a time I could walk across pavement in the summer barefoot, but not longer. The Zilch comes as close as going barefoot as I have found. Sure your feet may take a bit of adjustment here and there but no big deal. My feet are a full half size different so no pair of shoes will fit both my feet perfect.

Great sandal. Fit is a bit small but I did not have to go up a size. Very packable. Comfortable to walk in all day. Everyone asks about them too.

Excellent sandal. Very important in sizing, make sure you measure your foot with a ruler in inches versus your normal shoe size to get the proper fit.

The sandals are pretty nice, got a little bit of blistering on the middle strap the first few times I wore them. Make sure you get the right size, otherwise the toe strap may not be tight enough. I really like the sandals.

Okay, so I haven't been able to fully test the limits of the Zilch, but I felt compelled to write a review for those who are on the fence because of size issues. Other reviewers have recommended that people get the Zilch about a half size small. I wear size 11 1/2 in hiking boots (Merrells) and size 11 in street shoes (Chuck Taylors), so I took a gamble and ordered size 11 and they fit perfectly. Right out of the box they felt great on my feet. The toe loop doesn't feel as weird as I thought it would, although it is a bit tight (still needs some break in time, I think). The strap material feels quite durable and has not caused any discomfort. The sole is very comfortable and flexible, giving me moderate ground feel. Overall, the sandal feels great and I'm very happy with my purchase. For the barefoot purists: The Zilch's 10mm sole does give more cushioning than you might want. I'm hoping it will wear down over the next couple months of use. Also, the strap that is closest to the pinky toe slightly prevents the toes from splaying fully. Not a deal breaker for me, just thought I'd throw that out there. Hope this helps!

I have not been able to fully test the limits of the Zilch, but I felt compelled to write a review for those who are on the fence because of size issues. Other reviewers have recommended that people get the Zilch about half a size small. I wear size 11½ in Merrells hiking boots, and size 11 in Chuck Taylors street shoes, so I took a gamble and ordered size 11 and they fit perfectly. Right out of the box they felt great on my feet. These sandals are OK. I wanted something with as little material as necessary with a toe loop. The one problem I have with them is the front strap rubs my skin raw sometimes. I have heard of others having similar experiences. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does it makes them very uncomfortable to wear.

These sandals are great. Very true to the barefoot feel. Sizing is tricky, so try on a few different sizes. The only problem I have with them is that the strap that goes over the foot rubs against my pinky toe and causes blisters. Not great for really long hikes but very comfortable for casual use, and short hikes.

These are well designed and well made sandals. I would choose these over flip-flops anytime. The only thing I don't like is the spider rubber; it doesn't provide very good wet traction on paved surfaces.

Nice minimalist sandal. Doesn't have the huge, built-up sole and heel of the typical Teva or Keen. It does have a cushioned sole and just a tiny bit of arch support. Very comfortable and airy. Would be nice if there was a way to change the position of the toe loop. The size 9.5 was exactly right for my foot, but the toe loop was right up against the webbing between my big and second toes, so I went with the size 10s. You'll want to try a size up and down to see what is the best fit for your foot "configuration".

These sandals are awesome. Great for hiking, water sports, in the yard. Feels like wearing a flip flop with the toe loop. Very light, and comfertable.

Loved...at first, but now hate. Thanks for all the blisters, Teva! I'll stick with my flip-flops. Good flexibility and ground feel though. Straps are tedious and have too much friction (clearly). Ought to have returned them.

Love the minimalist design of the shoe, in that its footbed is closer to the ground than other sandals I've worn. My feet feel very snug in them, the toe rings in the Zilch fits my big toes very well.

Wore these on the beach and walking around town on vacation. Very comfortable. Also did not take up much room on the suitcase. A great minimalist sandal.

Stoked to find light sandals without huge heavy soles and straps. Perfect for mountain biking and hiking. As close to barefoot as you can get in an exercise sandal.

Just got them yesterday, had five hours try time so far. As a flip flop guy these are way different. I'm a size 9.5 shoe and got 10's. The fit is perfect although the toe strap is tight I'm sure it will loosen up.

I bought these simply for style, it's definitely a lot better looking than most other Teva styles and breaks the mold a bit. I get a lot of compliments about it, just walking around town. Fit was an issue at first, as the toe loop was slightly tight, and the top strap feels better kept just ever so slightly loose. It also helps if you don't have wide feet. After a few days, mine broke in just fine, and again, that strap feels better kept a little loose. For style I'd give it a perfect 10/10; for function I'd give it a 5/10 for wet trail use (slippery sole and soggy squish squish as the footbed absorbs water, takes all day to hang out and dry during camping); for fit I'd give it about 8/10 since for some people, it doesn't "break in" quite right.
