I bought these in two sizes - 14 medium and wide since I used a wider width when very active. Drew makes orthopedic, medical, and diabetic shoes and I bought these since I was very happy with a pair of Drew shoes.
These sneakers are incredibly comfortable. The toe box has very good space side-to-side and vertically unlike many sneakers that have small boxes. Arch support was very good with the provided insoles although as with all my shoes I replace them with Powerstep Protech Control Full Length Orthotics. There is sufficient space in the sneaker for this orthotic insole.
They are also very stylish - the stitching provides an attractive highlight and the sneaker does not have the ostentatious look of some sneakers.
About the only break-in required is for the outer sole. Once I knew it was a keeper I bent the sole a few times where the foot naturally creates a bend. This flexing helped break in the sneaker. Within a couple days I was comfortable doing extended walks in them.
Very highly recommended.

At last, my feet don't feel destroyed at the end of the day. I have gone through cheap shoes and expensive shoes. I've tried what was supposedly extra wide shoes only to have me feet squeezed and choked to death by noon.
The two insert system is an awesome idea for sizing and tweaking. I use the smaller one with my orthotics and it feels so natural. I have found my forever shoe!
I'd also recommend:
None. This is the first to be truly wide.

Wow! finally, have found a shoe that is 100% comfortable with my freaky left foot! The left foot includes a huge bunion and a hammer toe! So I need a size 6E, and a very high toe box! This Drew Aaron has both and is very lightweight and very good looking! A very happy customer with two very happy and very comfortable feet!

My first pair of Drew shoes is the Aaron. Where have they been all my life? These are really great shoes. My orthotics fit easily, the toe box is awesome, the size and width are true. Wonderful shoes. I don't want to wear anything else.

This is an excellent shoe, with a very accurate Item Information. To find a shoe that is listed as 6E actually be a 6E seems so very rare. Superb manufacturer.

I have worn these daily for three months. I never expected they would turn into my winter shoes. They are so comfortable, I don't want to put on my winter boots. My peripheral neuropathy and Raynaud's have been kept at bay by these sneakers. I wear SmartWool cushioned socks and orthotics with them. I like that they don't have crazy colors or logos. They do a great job of stabilizing my ankles too. I'm jealous of the shoes designed for men. I have such a difficult time finding comfortable, normal-looking, functional shoes in the women's section. For reference, I wear a 9.5M in Women's, and the 8.5M in this shoe fits divinely.

If you have bunions, this is a shoe for you.
I had to return a Brooks shoe because the design of the shoe did not fit the geometry of my foot (i.e. ratio between "ball of foot width" and "heel width". Strange how shoe geometries change within a manufacturer over time/versions. Previously I have worn Brooks with comfort.
If you have a narrow heel and a wide bunion induced "width measurement," then this shoe (Drew Aaron) will fit well. Turn this Drew Aaron shoe over an observe the sole - there is a gentle "french curve" that cradles your heel and provides ample width for one's bunion.
I knew immediately when I observed the (returned)Brooks sole that it would not fit because there was no gentle "french curve". The sole was rather straight - the whole shoe was wide. The Brooks was designed more for "fat-feet" (do not take offense - not used in a pejorative manner) versus for those of us who have bunions.
Zappos, please consider educating your customer service folks about the difference in "shoe widths" for wide "fat-feet" and wide "bunion-feet." Even better, identify which shoes are designed for those of us with BUNIONS.

These are the best athletic shoes I have had in many years. My feet are very wide and even the wide New Balance athletic shoes were not wide enough to be really comfortable. I could wear slip on Propet’s for casual shoes but they were not athletic. These Drew’s were the first shoes in may years that allowed me to walk miles comfortably without sore feet. These are uniquely awesome if you have very wide feet, like my 6E’s.

Very impressed by this shoe. Much lighter than I anticipated, seems well constructed so far, unbelievably comfortable. Had for about two weeks, first day the outer was a bit stiff but broke right in. I wear 14 ee/w and have long fat toes. Removed the thin insole leaving the thicker one and perfect. Can wiggle my toes quite well. Wear all day and feet aren't swollen and sore. Usually have that if a shoe is too hot. They actually breathe quite well. Can feel the cool air when I step outside. Overall feels like it was made for my foot :)

My husband loves this shoe, He has many health problems with R/A INhis feet. I have orderes 4x wide for many a year and they would have to be put on dhoe strechers with extra exstendions, But he was able to put this on right out of the box. And the style is nice to not so old fashion looking.Ordered 2 pairs at once they are that nice. Great job Zappos and Drew Aaron!

New balance but still not as wide as these. If you need it ( width) this is the shoe for you!

I ordered the 12.5 6E Drew Aaron. Fit and width were true. Comfort was exceptional. ONLY problem: stitching on the left shoe became undone after only 2 or three wears. I've attached a picture of the defective stitching for readers' reference, and hopefully for Drew team to see.
Of course, Zappos' customer service was its usual exceptional level, and I was issued a return label and refund immediately.
While I vowed never to buy another Drew shoe because of this, after searching and searching for a shoe that would best match my fit and comfort needs, I kept coming back to the Drew brand. So I've just ordered the Drew Energy model in 12.5 6E and we'll see how it fits and hope the stitching holds up.
Just to cover the bases, I also ordered the Dunham 8000 Ubal in Tan in 13 6E and we'll see which is best. Maybe I'll keep both!

I wear a size 11.5 6E and it fits my right foot perfectly but not quite wide enough for my left foot. The other problem I have with this shoe is that it hits me in the ankle when I lace it all the way to the top. It is comfortable enough that i'll keep using them until they wear out but I don't think I'd buy the Drew Aaron again.

There seems to be a large range of widths in 6e, The drew arrons are perfect! Good construction and the double inner soles a very nice plus..I have one foot different than the other and use one insole on left and the other on the right---Perfect. Nice shoes

All shoe sizes are not the same, (especially when you have weird feet) These 6E shoes are perfect, the 2 thickness pads are a very nice touch

The Drew Aaron is my favorite sneaker. I bought this pair to replace an older pair in which the heel finally wore down.
The last is ideally designed for my foot - last information is available on the Drew website. The sneaker is also very nicely designed aesthetically. I use the black leather version for more-classy situations. The sneaker is extremely comfortable from first wearing although there is a sort-of break-in process. The lining will adapt to the foot over time so it becomes even more comfortable. But I wear it for miles from first wearing.
Drew provides a two-stage (two pieces to adjust amount of cushioning) insole system that is very comfortable although I need even more arch support. I replace their insole with a PowerStep full-length orthotic insole. It fits easily.
Toe-box space is great - quite wide.
Overall a really fine sneaker.

This is my third pair of Aaron sneakers. It seems as if it has been redesigned a bit with increased padding throughout. Aaron is built on last P741 which is somewhat narrow through the center of the foot (near the arch). This is what I need! The sneakers fit really well, break in within a couple days, and wear well. They also look great. It is the sneaker I use when doing long walks. There is a black leather version, presently not available on zappos, that also looks a bit dressier for special occasions. Highly recommended.

My husband suffers from diabetic foot pain, and it's been difficult to find shoes with enough cushioning, width and with the depth and options to use the 2 insoles that come with the shoe, or to swap one or both out for a custom orthotic. The Drew Aaron solves that problem, and is still a handsome looking shoe. This shoe is a wonderful solution!

Absolutely awesome! Finally, a good looking casual shoe that fits my funky feet! Huge bunion on my left along with a very ugly hammer toe! No pain anywhere, as the toe box is high, and the 6E is perfect!
Also very lightweight for their size!
Highly recomend:)

As of July 2020 I've been wearing them for a year and a half, averaging about 2 miles a day mostly walking in the park. As you can see from my photos they are about due for replacement, although I probably won't get the Drew Aaron again because it wasn't quite wide enough for my left foot. Otherwise it is a very comfortable shoe.

This is my husband's second pair of Aaron shoes. He wears a 4E width so finding stylish shoes is a problem. These are very stylish and provide room enough for my husband's lift to fit comfortably. His podiatrist said they were a good shoe for him to wear.
