I have been wearing these boots for about 3 months now, in an extreme hot, dry, arid location. My first impression was that they where cumbersome. Now after wearing them daily, and being on my feet on dirt and gravel for 8+ hours I have grown to appreciate the sturdiness and support.

Really comfortable out of the box, the vibram soles are really sticky and have great grip. I have flat feet so to much arch support really kills my feet, but these shoes are just perfect, not to much arch support and not too little. great boots for serious day hikers.

These are solid shoes. They are very comfortable and the right weight. I have used these on multiple hikes this summer and they have performed really well. They are easy to get into/out of. No sweating/hot spots with these boots. I have not had a chance to test the waterproofing. But I think they will do well. I love these boots!

Great boots so far. Have worn them for a number of day hikes in the White Mountains in NH and Acadia in Maine. Broke in quickly, sturdy, grip well, great overall.

Very nice light fast hiking boots. Superb ankle support which is a must for me due to ankle surgery. Very comfortable and flexible, maybe a little light in the footbed padding but no problem for light weight hiking. Plus they come in 12.5 size! I would totally recommend.

I was given these boots as a Christmas present in 2011 and began wearing them in the spring of 2012, I grew to love them very quickly as a hiking boot and I now wear them daily as a replacement for my old work boots. The seams have started to rip between rubber and fabric on top of the toe but considering all of the use they have gotten it is to be expected. I definitely recommend these boots, they are great for hiking and very comfortable in day to day life as well.

I bought these for hiking in the Southwest. After hiking only 4 miles in Big Bend rocky desert my feet were killing me. In my opinion the soles are not tough enough to handle rocky terrain.

I purchased these because I wanted to have a comfortable boot for motorcycle riding. Now these are the only shoes I wear. I used to be a firm believer in Merrell's but after this pair, I won't buy anything else.

These are great boots! They provide excellent support from heel to toe. A good, moderately firm shank (I assume; they feel that way, which is what a podiatrist would recommend, I think.) I wear them walking the dog, for yard work, shopping at the big box lumber store and light hiking in the woods. They are comfortable in all settings. And a big thumbs-up to Zappos' service!

Initial sizing was off. I had to return the boots to get a half size bigger. I've done about 50 miles in these boots so far -- including rain, and mud. They have held up well. My feet have remained comfortable and dry throughout. If it weren't for the obvious sizing gaffe, I would give it a 5.
