This is my third pair of Salomans. Without a doubt the best so far. Compared to the Speed Cross and XT Wings 2. Love the larger toe box with sensiflex. They look great and feel even better, ready to run right out of the box. As with all Salomans go half a size larger then normal and you will be golden. Buy these shoes!

Love these shoes. They are super comfortable. If I ever start hiking, they will be awesome.

The shoe was comfortable right out of the box, while offering great support while giving a great amount of cushioning during foot strike.

I was seeking a light weight hiking shoe that would also be capable of trail runs and this shoe fits the bill. It is very durable and provides great traction of a trail shoe while providing the feel and lightweight features of a running shoe. It looks great too.

Great shoes, one of the best I have ever owned. They have a nice wide toe box, much wider than other Salomon shoes. I wear an 11 1/2 in these shoes, a 12 in Nike Free Running 2's, and 12 in Mizuno Inspire 7's. Hope this helps!

Absolutely love this shoe. As I usually wear an 11.5, an 11 works with this Crossmax. It feels like a glove on my narrow feet.

Okay! I have run Salomons XT Wings for two years, toe box was to narrow and other issues so I trashed them. But! Here is the redemption! The CrossMax Guide is a prefect blend of smooth transition, awesome support and great looks! I have logged 12 miles in 2 days on them and they feel like I have been running with them for years. I will definitely buy more in the coming months.

This shoe feels very stable and supportive; however, the shoe does feel a bit bigger than a size 11 and heavy.

Feel great on my feet - still have the old school Salomon feel but the improvements that make it a better running shoe are appreciated.

These are the best Salomons I have ran in so far. Believe me, I have ran all the top trail runners. I "just" ran a decathlon, followed by other single trails, in an accumulation of excess of one hundred and fifty miles. And oh yeah, I ran six yesterday. They still look new. They haven't worn on any corners. If you are running tech. trails I highly advise going with the pronation; they are stable enough for any terrain. The front is wide and comfortable for swelling, you'll have no problem. The arch is spot on, and the rear ramp off is high, giving you plenty of forward momentum. They're light, and the knobs aren't too much or too little. Perfect! The only thing I don't like is the white on the black and red. It should be grey or something darker.

These shoes are very supportive and you will not need orthotics with them. They have more support than the Brooks shoes. I have narrow flat feet.

The product is true to its description. I've been using it on a mix of trails and roads and it has given me good support on both.

Runs 1/2 size too big. I normally wear 12...had to drop to 11.5. Very stable supportive shoe. Loose in the heel with no way to secure it. hopefully this goes away over time as I'm sure the heel slip is being caused by the stiffness of the shoe.

I've been looking for this type of stability & support in a trail runner for the past couple years. As a 220 lb guy with severe pronation in my right instep, I need a shoe that's burly and supportive. Well, this is it! I've tried (and been fairly happy with) the New Balance 876 and the North Face Doubletrack, but neither shoe had quite enough support for me. The XR Crossmax Guidance offers me the stability and support I need, and it has a very precise fit that helps support my ankle. I does not offer much in the way of cushioning, so you may not want to use it as a high-mileage pavement runner. I've got Superfeet Greens in mine (they creak like crazy, though!) I love the speed laces and the fully enclosed tongue. The grippy soles provide impressive traction. IMO, this shoe is even burly enough for light hiking with a day pack. And they're pretty smooth looking, too!

I am a nurse and always looking for comfortable shoes with support that are lighter weight as I am on my feet most of a 12 hour shift. These shoes do the trick. The lace design makes tightening to my exact foot shape easily - every time. They breath and my feet never feel overheated. They are comfortable and provide the right amount of arch support. I highly recommend them for every day wearing shoes!

I work as a rock climbing guide in the Rocky Mountains and wear these shoes every day. They are great shoes and I always have good traction when hiking to our rappel site. Will most definitely order another pair once these wear out.

These shoes are very light and comfortable. I'm in the Military and took my physical training test and felt lighter on my run.
