I love the product. This one was a replacement for one that I wore out. So I'm a fan of it. I also want to add that I love doing business with Zappos.

Love this knife. I bought this knife for my daughter as a Christmas gift and she loved it. So since I always had trouble carving meat I decided to buy it for myself, would highly recommend it.

I ordered it one day, it was here 3 days later! I put it right to work cutting raw corn off the cob for freezing. Since then I have used it to carve a few turkeys, chickens, and of course roasts, cut bread, etc....as you can see I use it lots! It seems to be holding up very well. As for the cons, I've noticed the base has a hot smell to it once in a while. Not overwhelming, but nonetheless a hot smell. It's never shut off on me, and I hope it would before the motor burns up. As for the comfort...it really fits my hand well, I was able to carve nice and thin.

Don't buy it unless you're cutting Jello. It's junk. Cuisinart should be embarrassed. I bought the Cuisinart CEK-40 Electric Knife for cutting our annual turkey. The gears became more and more stripped towards the end of the first turkey. I exchanged it for a new one and it cut out on the second use occasionally working and was completely unusable on our third year for the same reason. A stripped gear! The motor keeps running at a louder pitch but the knife stops moving. There is a plastic gear part on the inside that easily becomes stripped on this unit! Any good reviews were either written when the unit may have had better parts or after the customer's first use! I've blacklisted the Cuisinart brand from our kitchen because of this product. Test your products Cuisinart! My respect for your products has been greatly lowered. As for the rating...anything above a 1 star on overall, comfort, style for a product that stops working so soon is too high.

Received my order on time. Just used the knife the other night for the first time. A little noisier then I expected but cut and worked very well. The extra noise might be due to the fact it is much more powerful then my old knife.
I'd also recommend:
can't think of any other brands that I would choose over this one

Have had one for several years, and it's great. I can cut precise and thin slices of meat and do so several times during the holiday season. It's also perfect for a crusty loaf of bread or when prepping a bunch of bread for party snacks. The blades install easily, stay sharp, and are a snap to clean. The shape and weight of the motor unit is comfortable and well balanced.
The only negative is that the switch has gotten very stubborn and often it won't turn on. I expected it to last a little longer than it did, so that's why it only rates 4 stars. Due to this problem, I'll need to replace it and will buy another Cuisinart without hesitation.
