It felt like a piece of wood--very stiff, not comfortable. Going back to the Tirra. Wore it out of the box with absolutely no issues; very comfortable.

I used to LOVE Teva's sandals, especially these Hurricane LXT sandals--at least those sold in 2015. I ordered a replacement pair to my 2015 pair as the straps were wearing (black Sharpee covered it), BUT I could not get these new ones to feel comfortable no matter how much I adjusted the straps. After comparing the two, I noticed that the footbed shape was different (see photo--old on left with toes up--uploaded photo image appears narrow), and the FEEL of the footbed was not at all as comfortable as the 2015 pair, which were so comfortable right out of the box. It is so disappointing when manufacturers tweak quality in favor of greater profit, and it's downright maddening with a brand like Teva that has been around for decades and always had top-notch quality. The only silver lining here is the wonderful support from Zappos in exchanging these for the Universal Premier sandal. I can only hope that a $100 sandal will feel like a walk in Heaven, but we shall see. When companies cut corners on quality, they end up losing even more than if they just charged a few bucks more for the same quality. They end up with more returns, which results in greater lost money, lost customer confidence & loyalty, and, in the end, a diminished brand. How does all that compare to the "profit" of shaving off a few more cents per pair just to keep increasing dividends to shareholders? Customers will look to other brands instead, so who's the winner in all this?

I had purchased Teva sandals in the past and was very pleased with them. These are horrible: can't find a way to make them comfortable on my foot. The straps irritate my skin, the support is non-existent since they are either too tight and cut at the ankle or too loose and slip around. I am very sad that the quality has declined so much in the last 5 years.

What did they do to this Excellent water shoe? I finally de-laminated my 15 yr old pair. I ordered the exact same ones as they never failed me in my years as a beach hotel manager in Ft Lauderdale & the Keys.. The new pair looks similar..but Oh No! The padding is gone from the bunion & small toe straps. The heel padding is 2 inches instead of a full 4 so the stitching rubs on both sides of my heels...before I leave my living room. The whole shoe is heavier, cheaper, less gear & more "croc, poolside junk" type shoe. I'm so disappointed! If TEVA is not gear...What do I get to Kayak & hike & do the things I love? I do not need more "fashion shoes" I have tons & expensive designer pretty shoes...I need "GEAR WATER HIKING SHOES" Any help would be welcome.

The medium width is very narrow.
The markings for the width are misleading both on the sandal and on the box..
Half sizes are needed.

I have two other pair of Teva's that I love. This pair looked like a duck's bill stuck on my foot. The arch was much flatter than my other pairs.

The foot bed on this shoe felt unnecessarily wide and looked like a snow shoe - very awkward and odd. I used to count on them as my sandles for travel in Europe on hills and cobblestones, both for comfort and style and am disappointed in the Teva's of the past few years. I thought I would give them another try, but their shoes are just not they used to be.

I've worn Pretty Rugged Sandals for over 20 years. They were my 'go-to' workout, hiking, etc shoe. Teva no longer has those, so I got these and couldn't even believe they were from Teva. Cheap feeling, triangle clasp across top strap digs into top of foot. Ankle strap attached too far inside of foot bed and digs into instep. Returned and will seriously re-consider buying Teva again if this is how poor their quality has become

I did not like this sandal because the top ankle strap rubbed on my foot uncomfortably the moment I put them on. I returned them because I knew I would never wear them.

I have several pair of this exact style. I have compared the ankle strap and it has been shortened!!! Why? Now I have to modify this pair to fit over my ankle. GRRRR!!!!

I bought these for my husband. He only wore them a few times and after getting them wet, the bottom of the shoe detached from the sole! What's the point of a shoe like this if they can't get wet! They are now too uncomfortable to wear. We are currently seeking a return. I don't know if it was just this pair or the brand, but the ones we got deserve very low marks.

So incredibly disappointed in my new Tevas. They are nothing like my last pair, though they are the same "hurricane" style. Tevas took out the padding on all of the straps, so they rub horribly. After a mile of walking, all I wanted was out of them. This would have been my third pair...I just love the Tevas I have had in the past, but will not buy this style again! I also felt that because of the placement of the straps (more foot was exposed), my feet kept slipping off the front of the sandal and almost off the end of the shoe.

These are nothing like the old Tevas, even though they look similar in the pictures.
No chafe protection, footpad doesn't conform to the foot, small arch support. They're also very slippery when they're wet so somewhat dangerous for watersports.
Again, nothing like the old Tevas.

I live in 3 pairs of Neotas and 3 Teva boots in the winter and give them all 5 stars for comfort, style, and durability. I returned these because it looked like I was wearing gunboats. The size was correct but the sole at the ball of my foot is much wider that my Neotas. Actually the entire sole is larger and because it's also super white, it looked huge and bulky on my foot. I have all three Neota colors you make. PLEASE ADD MORE!!!

The footbed was very comfortable, but there was no configuration of the straps that felt comfortable, like they weren't going to pop open, or didn't dig into my foot. Perhaps my super high arches are not made for these shoes. the toe strap hit my toes at an awkward spot, and left marks on my feet for hours after I took them off (they were worn around my house to test comfort). I wish the straps had been as comfortable as the footbed.

I lived these at first and was so happy about them. Now I feel sad because the footbed on one is splitting and the heel pads on both are coming apart. I've had them less than a month.

My last pair of Tevas lasted over 10 years! And I wore them a lot. I got a new pair of woman's Hurricane XLTs and it hasn't even been a year and the sole has separated on both feet. I see other styles of Teva's have a solid sole that can't separate, so will get a pair of those.

I bought on the Canadian site but you can't review on the Canadian site the functionality does not work. As soon as I opened my TEVA shoe box there is a prepaid postage stamp. It doesn't work in Canada. Perhaps there is some fine print but I didn't see it. The free shipping notice was large. I bought two sets of sandals and it cost me $85.00 in shipping and I have nothing to show for it. I have been a TEVA customer for 20 years. I kayak, my feet get wet and they have blistered with other sandals. My TEVA sandals don't exist anymore. They are like the men's terra fi lites but the women's terri fi's have more straps, more options for blistering. I tried the Hurricane sandals but the soles are too basic and they didn't have the padding around the joints. I tried the pretty rugged which I don't see on the site anymore they were $ 120 and the size was a full size larger than my foot. When I realized I was $ 85.00 in the hole because of shipping I wasn't willing to experiment anymore. I complained to TEVA Canada that I was not able to post a review on the site to warn people of the shipping charges but after 6 weeks it is still not fixed ....hmmm.... After 20 years TEVA I am gone. I will experiment with other shoes until I find the new perfect sandal for my wet feet.

Other than strap design there is nothing I like about this sandal, I am returning it. The footbed surface is so rough, like sandpaper. This is my 5th pair of Tevas. Why fix something that ain't broke? Am I so wierd that I want to place my foot on a soft smooth surface?
