First, I must say my shopping experience was delightful. Based on past experience I knew the boots ran big. I purchased the boots as a gift, and my daughter loved them. They were comfortable and the soles make them suitable for inclement weather.

Love this boot - just bought them today and wearing them now. The laces adjust for size, so if you have larger or narrow foot you can easily adjust. I like the fitted look, they are not bulky looking for a combat stye and very comfortable. I wear an 8.5 true size in shoes, but in Sam Edelman I must wear an 8. This is my second pair of Sam Edelman boots. The leather is soft enough to wear and they shall form during the break in period. The tongue does rotate during wear so I shall have my shoe repair tack the tongue, with a simple stitch to prevent it from sliding.

hen I first ordered these boots they came with scuff marks all over the front of both shoes and they weren't marks you could just wipe off it looks like they were cut up with an exacto knife. I called Zappos customer service and they were accommodating with my return request and sent a new pair of shoes out with one day shipping and they upgraded my account to a VIP account. I received my replacement boots and much to my surprise the same exact scuff marks were there on both boots. I called zappos again and they examined the shoe from the pictures online and it was determined that these marks were not a part of the design of the boots. I was a bit disappointed but I loved the overall style of the boots and fit so I decided to keep them and Zappos gave me a coupon as a token of good will. Zappos customer service is amazing and because of that I will continue to purchase shoes through their website.

I ordered a half a size down as suggested by others for this brand. Fit perfectly fine on one foot, too large and felt "baggy" on the other. I've never had that problem before! Pretty boots, though, wish they fit better.

The leather is beautiful. The shoes are wide and at least a full size too big on me, even with thicker socks. But here's the best part: I took them out of the box and undid the bow to try them on. When I went to loop the laces around the top grommets that keep the boot snug against your calf, the grommet popped right off! I hadn't even tied the laces or stood up to walk around in them before they were defective. REALLY poor craftsmanship.

I saw these somewhere else, but they didn't have my size so I checked out Zappos and there they were! I read some negative reviews, but decided to see for myself. I love them! They are cute and edgy, but they don't try too hard.I find them very comfortable and like the lacing options. I hope they hold up well because I plan to keep them for a long time.

First I have to say I do love these boots but there are a few things I'd like to note. One of the main reasons I chose these boots over others was the fact that the leather looked shiny and a little more dressy than the typical combat boots. However, when I received them they were not shiny and more of a matte textured leather (small circles). Not a total deal breaker, but definitely different than pictured. Mine didn't have any distress marks on the toes like a few others mentioned so that made me happy. They defiantly do run a 1/2 size bigger and are pretty narrow. (I usually wear an 8 1/2 and have pretty skinny feet.) When laced up they are a little baggy around my ankles but I don't like them skin tight so it is perfect for me. They are not the most comfortable boots I own but they broke in fast and there is probably enough room for a gel insole in for added cushion. Pros: They are taller than most combat, great quality leather, very well made, easy on and off with the back zipper. Love the two close over straps. All in all they feel like very well made, fancy boots to wear with my Black Milk leggings and tanks or a cute little dress. Happy!

I love how these boots look on. They don't look clunky or manly like most combat-style boots can look. My only issue with them, which another reviewer pointed out, is that the tongue does not stay centered. It is only sewn in on one side so it tends to migrate to that side when I'm walking. I wish there was a way to fix this, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. I decided to keep the boots anyway because they are so comfortable and look great. No break in period at all. I have very narrow feet so it is hard for me to find shoes that fit. These are not really that narrow, but I was able to lace them up tightly to fit. I also wear Pedag insoles in them because I have flat feet, so it makes them super comfy. Based on other reviews, I initially ordered a half size smaller, but found them to be too tight so I exchanged for my true size 8. Also, the first pair I received did have scratches on the toe like other reviewers mentioned, but the second pair did not. I would give 5 stars overall if it wasn't for the tongue issue.

These boots are really beautiful! Some reviews reported scuff marks, but mine didn't have any. The leather is pretty stiff. I've been toughing out the break in period. We'll see how it goes. I'm a perfect size 6 and these are a bit loose. I have to wear extra thick socks with these. Not as comfortable as I'd like them to be, but whoever said beauty was painless?

Was looking for kind of a combat boot like shoe, which is really out of the norm for me because I usually wear more "girly" boots with heels (being 5' I could use all the height I can get!). I wore them with jeans and they felt too man-ish for me (it looks like men's dress shoes with pants), so I stick with wearing them with girly, floral skirts and only lace them through the eyelets (not the hooks). They're pretty comfy, although I added cheap padded insoles. The one thing I don't care for is that the tongue of the shoe doesn't stay centered, it keeps moving over to the side. I have slightly wider feet (but regular width usually suits me fine) and when I lace it up, there's not too much of a gap in the laces - so it probably wouldn't work very well with someone with very narrow feet (the laces would prob look funny). The leather is really soft - and despite one of the comments another customer wrote - the scratches on the toe are part of the design... not sure why it's not shown in the pictures, but if you went on other websites or in store, the scratches are present.

Received these today, there are scratches placed on toes and heels on purpose, thats the trend. But, the tongues seem to both be sewn in crooked. Do not sit straight. I also ordered the Born Alamid, think I might stick with those.
