I purchased a pair of these size 10.5 because they are designed with a full heel, which I feel is essential for me. The first pair had a funny-feeling bump in the footbed of the left-hand sandals, so I ordered a second pair to compare, figuring it wouldn't have the same issue. The second pair came an had the exact same issue. These were the only water sandals I could find this year with a full heal. So I went ahead and started wearing them, figuring the awkward bump would go away as they were worn in. I've been wearing them for about two weeks now and I have to say my left foot is in misery. The more I wear them, observe them and think about them -- which I do all day because they are so uncomfortable -- the more I can see that these are simply defective, with the whole arch and footbed structure in the left sandal completely wrong. You can see the difference when compared with the right sandals footbed and arch structure. I'm thinking that Keen has a manufacturing problem with these shoes, and I am very bummed out. I owned a pair of very similar Keen's for the last couple of years and loved them. I hope this company figures this out. Meantime, If they don't feel right to you, don't make the same mistake as me and think they will break in after a bit.

I have had various other Keen sandals and these are my favorite so far. They are lightweight, comfortable, and the webbing that goes around the heel makes it possible to cinch them up if I am ever worried about slipping out of them (e.g. need to run a few blocks). Highly recommended.

Bought these for my husband as a birthday gift. He loves these and this is a man who does not where sandals and believes real men don't wear sandals in the first place.

This is the 3rd pair of Keen I have bought for my fiance. He loves them.

Quality construction, very comfortable, I usually wear a wide, but this medium fits fine. Like the enclosed heel for driving.

I needed a pair of sandals, but find most uncomfortable. On your site I found these and they seemed to be just what I was looking for. When I got them, I realized they met all my requirements and more. Within a week of receiving them, Baltimore was hit by an earthquake, a hurricane and then a week of flooding rains. The Keens stood up to the extreme conditions. They truly are like barefoot but better. Thanks.

These are terrific shoes. Comfortable, airy, and plenty of room; yet snug on the foot. Most of my shoes are Keens.

I used these shoes all the time in the Galapagos and they were the best and these shoes are good for hiking on rocks and getting wet.

I feel this show is great. My only comment is: I feel the Keen brand of sandals run a bit small. I have always worn a 11 1/2 shoe size. I had to get a size 13 to fit comfortably.

The Keen Owyhee are very comfortable and flexible. I wear them all day on weekends. I didn't have any problem with these shoes. Keen knows how to make good shoes.

I don't normally wear shoes like this, as they often aren't comfortable or well made. These shoes, however, were amazingly comfortable and sturdy. I am totally sold on this brand.

I bought these for my husband because his other shoes were wearing out. The back part of the shoe gives good support and although he takes a EE (wide), these shoes fit him perfectly! I did order a half size larger in hopes that the toe part would be wide enough for him and it is, so he's very happy! Wears them all the time, but doesn't like wearing them without socks on...he just doesn't like the feel of the foot bed, but as long as he's happy and wears them, that's what counts! The Keen Owyhee are really well made, sturdy, but flexible and I'm glad I got them for him! I doubt he'll ever wear them in water, which is what I think they're made for, but they also serve as a nice summer type sandal for everyday wear.

I ordered these shoes to wear in Michigan in the warmer weather. So far, so good.

Ordered these for my husband for a trip to Hawaii. He loves them. They are comfy and look good. Good support. Zappos you have great service!

I had gotten a pair a few years ago that were more shoe like with mesh between the 'straps' keeping more debris out. They also had drain holes in the bottom of the shoe. I can't find any Keen that comes close to that pair so I bought these instead. They are pretty nice but the sandal design is going to take some getting used to. I am hoping my little toe doesn't pop out the side! They fit true to size and once I get used to the sandal look I am sure they will do just fine.

These are comfortable and light. They are not quite as good as the other sandals that I wear daily during the summer months though. Keen has great arch support.

I have a very wide foot. I can wear the Keen Venice and Targhee. I liked the looks of this shoe, the fact that it had a closed heel, and the sandal openings in the rest of the foot. This was not wide enough, at all! I called Keen to ask about its width and was told this shoe is actually wider than the Venice, that I love. I have a thick foot, as well, as wide. I can not wear the Newport, either. I exchanged these for the McKenzie and they should arrive today. Keen tells me the McKenzie is very wide. FYI: I am a woman and buy man's shoes for the width. I wear an 8.5 in womans sizing. I bought a man's 8 (woman's 9) in this shoe to hopefully add width.

I really like these a lot for wearing around the house and doing yard work. I tried to walk the dogs around the neighborhood but my feet move around in them too much. I couldn't tighten them up enough to get a good fit. I do have some concerns about whether they will stay on when I wear them in wet conditions.

Keen makes an excellent shoe. The Owyhee is no exception. Comfortable out of the box. The biggest negative is that their soles consistently separate from the bottoms (inferior adhesive?). Since this problem is ongoing I assume it is Keen's version of "planned obsolescence"?

Just returned this shoe. I too had the same problem that the other two ladies had with a defect in the sole. For me, it was the right shoe that had a bump that would hit your foot directly between the pads beneath your big and little toe. It was incredibly uncomfortable. My foot was even bothering me after I took the shoe off. I never write reviews, but I figured I would pass on this info. What a shame because this was my favorite style of the Keens.

I too have a similar issue as 'Kelley D from Washington, DC' with the left sandal and I too ordered a second pair that had the same exact feeling/issue. I love the design of these hope they fix it ASAP.

I've worn these almost a year now, and for 3 seasons, almost daily. They are the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned (I'm 65 yrs old), from the first day I put them on, still until now. They've been canoeing, waded in rivers and oceans, hiked miles of outdoor trails and city streets, done heavy yard and garden digging, lawn mowing, and hundreds of miles of auto driving. They still look almost new. At one point diesel fuel was spilled on them and completely soaked them. I washed them by hand in water and dishwashing detergent, then ran them through two heavy duty wash cycles in the washing machine, and they came out totally cleaned and almost new looking. They are so comfortable I usually forget I am wearing them. Because I do a lot of outdoor activities, the closed toe is a must for me, for toe protection. The sole still shows almost no wear. The only noticeable wear on the entire sandal is at the points where the flat nylon straps, that are adjusted by the nylon pull cord, go through the slots just above the sole, below the ankle area. The flat straps are torn a little, where they are folded as they pass through the slots. This is a minor defect or design flaw, and doesn't' affect the everyday use of the sandals. Other than that, I think they are good for another year, if not longer. I've worn everything from sandals handcrafted by an old Italian cobbler, to expensive dress shoes, to steel-toed work boots, to hiking and alpine climbing boots, to the best "name brand" boating shoes (junk!), and none have been as comfortable as these sandals. Plus, I have a very narrow foot (size 10.5 AA) and so it's hard to find shoes not custom made, that really are comfortable to me in any activity and for long-term wear. I'll be buying another pair of these, well before my first pair wear out, just so I have a "nice" pair and a "working" pair.

Fourth pair. Four styles. Love the fit - the wide toe box. I could appreciate a little more arch support. Looking to buy a work related pair now - 'bout time.
